Hi everyone..

Just wondering what the crowds would be like the Canadain May Long weekend? and what the weather would be like? Hot? too Hot? just nice? We wre thinking about taking the kids for a special little trip...

Thanks.. Sarah

We were there during the first week of May last year and I personally found it a little hotter than I thought it would be (low 30's, but not humid). A little shower almost everyday as well as a risk of thunderstorms.

Crowds were fantastic. Apparently May is a great time to go! I would *think* a week or two later wouldn't make that much difference with crowds and weather. I'm jealous. ;) Our next trip isn't until the end of April 2009!

We were in Orlando from May 16th to 23rd in 2007 and found the crowds very managable. As for the weather, we had very warm temps the entire time - usually high 80's and low 90's - and yes it was humid (I think the only time we've been to Orlando and it hasn't been humid was January).

We're actually heading back May 7th to 16th this year :cool1: ... only 70 days and counting

Ditto the above - we usually travel in Nov/Feb so it was quite warm. But, the crowds were really reasonable and we had a great time.

We were there for both the Victoria Day long weekend and Memorial Day long weekend last year and yes it was hot and humid, but if you took breaks it was okay. If you stay the week after Victoria Day, be aware that the next weekend is Memorial Day in the US and the crowds took a big jump by Friday.

We were there at the same time! I guess humidity is relative. From your tag lines I am guessing you are from the prairies, which seems very dry to us in Eastern Ontario. It did not seem humid to us at all in WDW last May!

Here is a website that you can see historical temperatures:

yes - from Edmonton actually :)

Not surprised. My sister lived in Edmonton for about 20 years, then moved back to Ontario. She -- and her children who were born there -- took a while to get used to the humidity in Ontario.

Every time I visit Alberta I get chapped lips:laughing:

So depending where the OP is from, they may or may not find it humid!

I was there last summer the last week of Aug.. and the heat was horrible, and I am from Ontario.. do you think May is as bad as Aug weather? If so, I might have to rethink our timing! LOL.. thanks.. Sarah

We live near Toronto and went last May long weekend. I was thrilled that it wasn't the US long weekend at the same time!

We usually go Sept-Dec and have always had a wonderful time. But, this time it was awful. We were there for 5 days and it was overly crowded. And, far to hot! I generally enjoy the warm weather. This time, it was too much for me. We will never go again at that time. I think the exact dates were May 21-25

No, August is hotter and more humid.

We were there for the May long weekend last year - from the Friday to the tuesday and it was great - I didn't find it that hot but after the cold winter and not warm enough spring I was ready for hot!! Crowds were not too bad either..... we had a great quickie budget last minute get away!!

We go every May long weekend and it's hot.

My girls and I went the middle 2 weeks of May in 2006 and I was shocked at how hot it was and very humid:scared1: I live in Southern Ontario and am used to humidity.....I was surprised at the crowds too...more than I expected.

I was in WDW prior to that the first week of December and no humidity...it was lovely...and no crowds.....

I am going this year in October and hope it won't be too hot...

I found the best thing for us with the humidity was to drink lots....don't rush, and take breaks back at hotel if you are onsite....

We went may long weekend in 06" and it was in the 90's every day!! hot and very humid but that was just the once so I don't know if it's like that every may.....:)
it's still disney so how bad can it be right??
