The days of low Catholic school tuition left when the schools were totally staffed by religious men and women who taught in the schools allowing for such low rates. Lay Catholic school teachers need to be compensated justly which does affect tuition rates.
I am at a high quality Catholic elementary school which is in demand due to its excellent reputation - providing a strong academic program based on Catholic values and teachings. The school provides many services to its students which does cost. The teachers are dedicated and caring. They are required to be state certified. Many have a Master's Degree. We experience minimal teacher turnover despite the fact they will never be paid comparable to the public schools. They, too, are making a choice to teach in a Catholic school.
Our parents are very vested in the school and do not wish to see any reduction in the programs or staffing. We have an effective development program that solicits additional funding for the school outside of the parent community as well as providing a vehicle for parents to contribute, also.
In-parish tuition = $3000 per child
Out-parish tuition= $3600 per child
There is an $80 book fee per student.
There are no other mandatory financial demands on parents. However, parents are encouraged to support the Development Office through their time, talent and/or treasure.
