Hi everyone! :wave:

I've been eating Low Carb (Atkins) since May 6 - and was trying to watch my food intake for a while before that. I do wish it would melt off faster, but I know I am burning fat and building muscle. DH is on Atkins too.

We are going to WDW 20 Sep and I would really like to be down a size (or two?) by that time. :earsgirl:

I have 100 lbs to go to my goal :earseek:

I work out at Curves at least 3 times a week, but I was BAAAADDDD last week and didn't go at all. I could say it was because I was worried about my best friend (pregnant - went preeclampsic - had to have baby delivered 1 month early - still in hospital because blood pressure will not go down...and her hubby and 1 1/2 yr old son are staying at our house because their local hospital can't accomodate the baby at level 3 NICU) but that's just - well - an excuse. Not a valid reason.
Today AF [ aunt flo ] (or TOM [ time of month ]- not sure which nick name you use here) kept me away (cramps :mad: ) but I am getting back into the swing of things tomorrow.

There I typed it - now I'm accountable to someone other than just me. ;)

Is anyone else terrified they will go off their way of eating when they get on vacation? I really don't want too! And so far I've been strong! Even on our 5th anniversary dinner out I didn't cheat....but....but....I'm only human...and the food there is SOOO good!

OK - bed time - just wanted to say hi and share a bit. I look forward to getting to know y'all!

Welcome to WISH! I'm sure you will enjoy it here, be sure to check in every day if you can! This board really is a source of motivation and positive energy. Sometimes I come here just to get a "positive vibe" from all of the warm personalities on this board!

Have you signed up for the WISH challenge so you can have cool little clippies on the bottom of your posts? Be sure to check back at the top of the list of posts (somewhere towards the top anyway!).

And don't worry about your vacation...as many of the veteran WISHers here would say, "have a PLAN," and you will succeed! (I know exactly how you feel though, about 2 weeks after I "officially" joined WISH, I went on a vacation. I did eat more, but I also exercised a LOT, and I ended up losing a couple of pounds!)

I have to say you live in one of the prettiest areas of the country! ! My Dad lived in Aurora for a number of years and moved to Vail a couple of years ago. We get to visit about every other year and hopefully this spring we'll be able to hike one of the passes through Vail....about 55 pounds from now!!

I have had a bad few days here with TOM visting and so together we are jumping back on Kelsie's wagon that she so sweetly got for our group see here

Can I share someting with you that I heard on Oprah after the show yesterday?? Please don't be offended and if you're not ready than simply disregard without tainting your impression of me ;)

An audience member asked her for diet tips, that she was following Oprah's advice to not eat after 7 p.m. and that she was going to Curves (imagine that!) 3-4 times a week and needed to lose about 100 lbs. Oprah told her that 3-4 times a week for exercising is NOT enough to lose weight, though it's sufficient for maintaining. She said everyday workout and only take one day off a week at max!

I bumped up my activity from 4 days a week to 6-7 and that is when I noticed changes. And somedays my activity is a walk with the dog, yoga, meaning it isn't intense vigorous workouts, but rather a consistent level of some acitivity.
