This post not really directed at you personally but:
The kids around here that I know and see their FB post all the time, silly teenager stuff, including the boys. They don't use them to make plans, but again that is how it is around here, so it isn't an absolute truth that a kids will miss out if they don't have FB, maybe they will maybe they won't. Again my DD who is the most social, always out and about, never at home, you get the idea, never makes her plans on FB and she is hardly missing out. Some teens may, I get that, but you can't make a blanket statement that your teen WILL miss out.
So many people that love FB claim that those of us that don't have an attitude about it, but claiming that your child WILL miss out if they don't is pretty much the same thing. I actually thing that maybe they have implanted a virus that makes some people go insane over it and gives them the need to convince those of us that don't like it that we must join or out lives will simply fall apart and we will become outcasts, when it simply isn't true.
I have a FB acct, I glance at it about once a week and laugh about how silly it seems to post the mundane things that happen in your life. I don't care that you had dinner with so and so last night, I don't care that you went shopping, I don't care that you may have run out of wine on Thanksgiving.
Others may, some like knowing this stuff, I don't. I don't even know why I go on and look. I guess I am checking just to see if something major is going on, but it isn't, never has been , never will be. JMHO. Others love it fine, but everyone, (not you but in general) please stop trying to convert those of us who really don't care for it.
