Facebook really starting to get on my nerves.

It keeps showing up saying i liked garbage i didn't.
Like those stupid quotes that fail at being funny and/or are annoyingly (Not a word but it works) emotional and cheesy.
Or some stupid quiz.
Also all those stupid "BLAHBLAHBLAH answered Whatevergarbage."

Does facebook not get that i am reading what my friends liked not liking it my self!

But i don't have much of a choice this is what my friends mostly use so i am stuck with it until something replaces it.

I've never had it say that I hit the "like" button when I didn't, and I haven't heard of that happening to anyone else. Did this just start for you? Perhaps your account has been hacked into by someone else, although I can't imagine why someone would just want to go around hitting the "like" button for you.

Try changing your password.

Move your cursor to the right of the things you do not want to see. A little X will appear. You can hide and block things you do not want to see. I have to occasionally block stupid stuff a neighbor says and I've blocked a "friend" because he posts all kinds of political crap. FB is supposed to be fun for me, so I block the stuff that takes away from that.

Welcome to the club! DH and I deleted ours about a week or two ago and haven't looked back. It's been nice!!

Facebook is a dangerous thing, and it is evolving over time into an advertiser's delight. I use twitter.

I do not like Facebook either. I REALLY don't like that it wants to post my location all the time. Like the OP, the only reason I use it is for seeing photos from my friends and we also use the PM feature. Since you can have up to 20 people in one PM thread, we can easily plan lunches and things.

Our family has never had a Facebook, MySpace or Twitter account. We will not allow our kids to have one either. If I want to keep up with people, I'll pick up the phone and call them.

I hope your kids are in elementary school or they are going to miss out on a bunch...

By dangerous I mean that it pulls people back into your life that you left behind for a reason, and it puts a great deal of personal information at risk.

You're right...it can be dangerous if you let it. But that's where self control and not allowing certain people to be your friends come into play.

Turn that feature off.

Only allow people who are important to you to be your friends.

Dont engage in drama. If someone posts a different viewpoint politically, they are entitled to their opinion, move on.

If you dont like certain things coming into your newsfeed, click on the little x and get rid of it. I dont care what games my friends are playing or how many swagbucks they earned so I turned them off.

I dont know what the big deal is. You make it as simple or as complicated as you want it to be.

It's off on my settings as far as I know on the computer version. It's the iPhone version I can't get it to stop asking me EVERY TIME I open up the app. Every time, I just click "don't allow", but it's annoying.

I like sharing and seeing photos of my friends, my privacy settings are all to "friends only", and I like the chat feature (when it works). I only add people I actually know in real life and want to reconnect with, and I delete people that I'm no longer actually friends with. I don't play the games; I just take the pieces of Facebook I like and leave the rest. I just don't like that Facebook is becoming so all-encompassing.

Hmm, personal responsibility. Does anyone have that anymore?

Back to Facebook! :goodvibes

I dont exactly hate facebook. I have one person on my account my SIL and I see all her " I likes " . She even sent me I like as we all own the same type of car. I left it alone. She asked me why I dont have people on my account and started letting me know who I could put on there from the family. She is the only one which is fine. I have very personal reasons why I dont allow people on there. I use it mainly for certain updates I like to be informed about.

I believe you can make it as friendly or not as you like.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING
