May I get something off my chest?

So then the Wonder and Magic are boats since the Dream and Fantasy ships are bigger?

(runs and hides under a large vessel)

I dare you to try to stow the Magic on Deck 4 of the Fantasy.

The Magic, Wonder, Dream and Fantasy are SHIPS. A boat goes on a ship, like those yellow things on deck 4.

Thank you. I feel better now.

My father who was a WWII Navy Veteran...was on a Destroyer and Destroyer Escort he said corrected me once.... a SHIP is seaworthy a BOAT is not!!!:cool1:

The first cruise I went on was in 1997 with RCI. During the muster drill, they pointed out more than once the difference between the two and reminded us we were on a ship! I have never forget it!!!

All this boat talk is making me wonder why they dont have special names for the right and left sides of the boat???

ah, memories...

Looking at the picture of you in your sig, I'm pretty sure I'm WAY older than you are, and I'm ashamed to admit that I honestly don't remember The Big Red Boat. I have no idea what I was doing in the years she was sailing, but I never heard about her until after I joined these Boards and took my first cruise, on the Wonder. Go figure. But it's cool to see a picture!

And as long as we're at it....although this has been tried before, and no one remembers.......it's
PALO........... not Palo's. Unless you're talking about something Palo owns, like it's dishes.

And another thing that drives me nuts.....why doesn't anyone ever use the SEARCH function? It works.

Go ahead, I'm ready to duck. :duck::duck::duck::duck:

I'll throw mine out there - I guess if a baseball analogy is going to be used for cruising on all four Disney ships, I would think it would be "hitting for the cycle", not a "grand slam".

Being one cruise short of the Grand Slam Plus club, I recall fondly our trip in 1991 on the Big Red Ship.

Ah... The Big Red Boat with its avocado green stateroom.... Smelled like puke! ;0

On one of our first cruise's the comedian cleared it up for us by saying, the boat is what you get on when the ship is sinking. Have never forgotten it since.

We were on the Oceanic " Big Red Boat" back in 1992. The staterooms were horrible!! Small port holes too. I have movies of our trip and when I walked into the room my reaction was " This can't be our stateroom" and so we walked out to look again at the door. There was one twin bed and a set of bunk beds. The port hole was really high on the wall. I recall they had a slide roof over the pool. They only had Mickey, Goofy and Chip and Dale on our cruise. They only had one kids club. It was in the very back of the ship and it had a outside play ground with a wading pool. I recall picking our 5 year old daughter up after only having gone to a show and she was crying saying she thought we left her on the ship all by herself. :( Must of not had a very good time. Can't recall if they did any week long cruises or not, but we had a land/sea so we went to Nassau and Salt Cay (Disney's old private island) They now use that island for dolphin encounter's. That island was used for the filming of the movie Splash and also Gillian's Island was taped there. I recall they had a pavillion where they had a BBQ and beach volleyball. That was about it though. You had to take a fairy boat to that island from Nassau.

WOW, has Disney improved since then!!!
