I'm tentatively planning a trip to DL for next May, probably early May. I know that Fantasmic may not be back, but what about the fireworks, parades, World of Color, etc? Are those usually on during the week in early May, or just weekends? I'm hoping to go M-F, but don't want to miss out on all the shows!

Thank you!

Anyone who went this year in early May have any insight for me?? :)

We visited May 10th to 12th (Tues - Thurs). Fireworks every night we were there as well as PTN and WOC. "Early show" of each since the park hours were abbreviated. DL closed at 10:00 and DCA at 9:00 each night. We enjoyed the WOC dessert party on Thursday. Never saw PTN as DD is not a parade fan...at all! Great time to visit though, we had a blast!

Historically, they usually only present fireworks (and F!) on weekends (Fri, Sat, and Sun) during the non-peak periods (e.g., early May). They did present fireworks nightly this year as part of the 60th Anniversary Celebration, but it's not known if that will continue past the end of the celebration (in September). They have usually presented WoC nightly. There hasn't been a nighttime parade in a while, so it's not known what kind of schedule PtN will have after the Celebration ends. I do think there will likely be a daily daytime parade (i.e.,, Soundsational).

Thanks for the info. It would be so nice if they continue to have the fireworks on weekdays....

We have visited twice in the first week of May and each time the night time shows were only on the weekend (Friday-Sunday). The nightly shows are only due to the 60th celebration which will be over this September. After that it will most likely return to Friday-Sunday...but you never know what they might do!

Hmmm...good to know. Overall, would you say that was a good time to visit though?

I think it largely depends on what you're looking for when you visit. Typically, early May (except for Mother's Day weekend which has the Tinkerbell Half Marathon) is a pretty good time to visit. The parks aren't really experiencing summer-level crowds yet (although weekends seem to always be busy these days) and grad nights have not yet started. On the flip side, the parks are usually have a reduced entertainment and operating schedule prior to Memorial Day weekend.
