May...crowdsand weather

Thinking of planning a May 05 trip. For those who have just returned this past May, how was the weather and the crowds? I'm thinking of going Memorial day weekend into the the first week of June. Thanks

Expect it to be quite hot. After three May trips we have decided to go back to the fall season. We don't do heat very well. As far as the crowds go it was never a problem for us. It's not deserted by any means but pretty managable. If you can stand the heat you'll have a wonderful time.

I have been to WDW in May several years (2000, 2002, 2003, 2004) and have typically found the crowds to be pretty manageable. The weather has sometimes been hot, but not too bad, but there have been some days that were too hot for my taste. That being said, I would try to not go over Memorial Day weekend, as holiday weekends tend to be much more crowded than normal. If you could go earlier in May that might result in smaller crowds and possibly slightly cooler temperatures.

We went the first week of May this year and the weather was great, low to mid 80's, one day with rain. However, we also went the first or second week of May from 2000 to 2003 and some of the days it was well into the 90's. Hot but not awful humid hot. Little rain.

When you get later into the month, the weather gets hotter and the crowds get bigger. I would expect Memorial day weekend to be very crowded.

We were there from May 16 to May 29 this year. The first week the crowds were lighter and the weather was in the mid to high 80's. The second week was much warmer mid to high 90's and the crowds were much larger. We only had rain one day for about 2 hours. I would try to go earlier in May and I think you would be fine - at least with the crowds. Who knows what the weather will do.

We went this year at the end of May, Memorail Day weekend to be exact. Although we didn't visit any parks on the actual holiday, we still found the parks to be quite crowded the rest of the week and it was HOT! DH and I went on a carriage ride and it was about 95 degrees that day. We still had a great time but will be visiting in the fall for our next trip.

We've been to WDW in May twice. In 1999 we went the first week of May. It was fairly hot but to be honest it was no more hot than what it is here at home so we are accustomed to heat. We went from May 17th -25th in 2002 and there was only one day that it was hot and we got little rain. So it can vary. The crowds were very manageable except for Saturday in the MK of course. The crowds did pick up as Memorial Day weekend approached so we were glad we left before that weekend. The Flower and Garden Festival is going on in Epcot during that time which is beautiful. May is actually our favorite month to go.

We went the first week of May this year. The crowds weren't bad at all, and the weather was great. It rained one day, and we had great time that day because the parks weren't crowded.

May is my favorite time to go! We've been twice - it's warm enough to swim in the pools, even at night, but not scorching hot during the day. We did experience afternoon showers/thunderstorms though.
