There has been much talk about the anticipated May crowds. My trip is scheduled for May 7-16. I have been to WDW the first week in June 2004 and July 17-18, 2003. What do you think? Will the crowds be like a typical June, a typical July or (please no) like hoilday or spring break crowds? Thanks for your help.

Welcome to the DIS and your first post!!!

The early May crowds are usually pretty light. Now, the 50th celebration could change that. I personally would be expecting moderate crowds. That way it can only be what you expected or better. I do think it will be a busier than normal May, but nothing like Spring Break of July.

Hi 123SA :wave2: I'll be there same time as you and I'm feeling a little better about crowd predictions. Disney recently changed EMH days to
back to "standard" for the week we will be there (there were more EMH's for our week a couple days ago) so I'm thinking this means it isn't going to be quite as busy as they thought. On a scale of 1 to 10, I'm thinking crowds will be about 5. -- Nothing like July crowds I'm sure!

Thanks for the quick replies. I am so relieved. I have been concerned enough to consider re-scheduling. Hope you trip is wonderful!

I have really been stressed out about the crowds during the time we will be there...May 8th - May 12th. I keep telling myself that this is our 4th trip to Disney in 10 years and if my kids have to wait in line alittle bit it won't kill them. We have always gone at this time of the year and have never had a wait, if at all. Now with Kelly and Regis being there I have had enough! I am trying to think good thoughts...It is Disney after all!!!! :flower:

I am wondering about crowds as well. I heard May was typcially pretty light, but I heard hotels were booked (or at least some of them).

We went the first week in May last year and the crowds were perfect. They even had their press junkit on May 5th to announce this years festivities. The busses from the hotels were not that crowded leading me to believe that disney property hotels were not booked.

The lines now that was fantastic! We had to wait no longer than 30 mins for any given ride. FAST PASS works wonders for the "crowded" rides.

I think it is the perfect time to go (BUT DON'T TELL ANYBODY!!!!)
