MAY Countdown!! This is it, folks

I was thinking the same thing when I saw the hours yesterday! WAHOO!!!:cool1: BUT I have been twice before at this time of year and it really wasn't that busy at all! I have never waited more then 30 minutes for a ride! I love this time of year. I did see that on the second Indian Jones will be down and of course Matterhorn is down which I was going to try this year with my big girls! But as far as rehabs go this time around I am so stoked. When we went for our 10 year anniversary Peter Pan was down the whole time! :sad2: I was so sad! It's my fav!

What do you guys do to get ready?
First of all, happy bday!! (well, I'll be at the parks when your actual bday comes, so I just wanted to tell you first!) :rotfl2:
I so hope the crowds are light! I love low crowds! But if not, it'll be fun anyway, we'll be at Disneyland!! :cloud9:

Hi everybody! We'll be there April 29-May 3. :cheer2:
Hi there!! :goodvibes Added your dates!

I just noticed something on the calendar, no WoC!!! But no panic... they're still filling the calendar, so I hope the time goes up somewhere this month?

Well I know Touring Plans is not highly accurate for DLR, but just for keeps I went to the Crowd Calendar, and it shows 1's and 2's in my first 3 park days! :cool1: That would be awesome!!! Friday not surprinsingly shows a 4, but I know weekends are busier, so no problema :hippie:

Thank you for adding me. I have never been to disneyland in may Hopefully its not hot because i live in hot weather all year round (puerto rico) and i want to be able to wear a hoodie without having to take it off after a short time hehe

Add me to the list. I will be there from May 25 through the 29th.
My birthday is on May 27th and this is my 8th year since cancer treatments. 2 more years and I can say cancer free.
I am not sure where I am staying yet, thinking of either Park Vue or Candy Cane but waiting for some reviews from you guys.

First off, I'd like to re-introduce myself to everyone since I haven't been on the boards since 2007, so hello! :)

Anyways, we'll be there from May 18-23 and will be at the Fairfeild Inn and I have a quick question regarding the grad night that's happening on the 23rd. Not only is that our last day in the park, but we'll be celebrating our 1 year anniversary together and we wanted to eat in Downtown Disney that evening. So my question is, are the grad night kids only allowed within the two parks? Or will Downtown Disney be packed with them as well? We're making our reservations for dining today, but I just want to know if it's going to be crowded or not. I really appreciate any answers. :D

Hi Fiesta Margarita! Another bdaygirl! Congrats!!! :dance3:
but mostly, congrats for being a figther.
Haven't stay at neither hotels (but also consider both before going for HoJo), so hopefully someone else can help you with that.
You can also go to tripadvisor and check both photos and reviews for both hotels, so you can decide which one looks better for you :wizard:

I'll be there May 21st-23rd for a job expo. Hotel tbd. I'll be in the parks the afternoon of the 21st, afternoon/evening of the 22nd and maybe the morning of the 23rd. Yay!

So I want to make reservations for dinner and we want to do at least one character meal, maybe one dinner and one breakfast-

What do you guys think are the best?- Its our first trip to disneyland as a family (my DH and I havent been in 15 years when we were kids, and have never done a character meal) our DS is 2 and a half. Also do we have to pay for him? We noticed a lot of the prices for kids say ages 3-9.

Goofy's Kitchen for dinner, definitely. It's buffet style, and the food is great. My kids LOVED the PB&J pizza, and I loved the more adult dishes. The character interaction was also really good. Goofy hung out with us in the lobby while we waited for our table and posed for tons of pictures with each of my girls in the little car. The family photo with a character was included with our dinner (not sure if it still is, this was July 2010), we had Pluto in our picture with us, it now hangs in a Disney photo frame in my dining room. Chip and Dale stopped by, along with the Disney Princesses. Mulan was lovely, and Cinderella asked us if we had arrived by coach or magic carpet, because her friend Jasmine kept trying to get her to ride a carpet but she was afraid it might make her sick. Hilarious. My kids are older, but they really enjoyed the interactions and we all had a great time. I really recommend it.

Edited to add:

I think children under 3 can eat off their parents plate, I don't believe you are charged.

We did Minnie and friends breakfast at the plaza inn (Inside DL) and that was great. DD was 2 and 4 months at the time and was free of charge. We were able to get her her own plate and everything. She didnt eat much because of all the characters coming by (there are a lot of characters and they come by every few minutes so lots of interaction). DD wasnt scared but she kind of freezes and stares at the chracters. She would dance with Minnie but only really moved when Minnie held her hands and moved her. When Minne let go she stood there frozen with hir elbows out staring. She did point at Capt Hook when he was going by, not sure why as she really didnt know who he was at that time.

Thats the only Character breakfast we have done thus far so I cant compare which one is best but we really liked Minnies. Also if you plan it right you can get into DL before the park oens with early reservations to Minnies and then get a head start on rides after breakfast.

We are going to try AG princess breakfast next trip.

I agree with Goofy's Kitchen for dinner. My favourite breakfast was at Story Teller's Cafe. I had so much fun with Meeko and we also met Chip and Dale, Terk, Koda and Kenai.

Hi everyone! Added all your dates on Post #1. :goodvibes

Just checked the Disney grad nites site and found they have added additional dates during our stay, despite being there for 6 days we will only have 2 days that are not grad nites. :( We've spent a fortune booking our trip, coming half way round the World and specifically designed it to include the least amount of grad nites possible and now Disney go and add additional dates. :( Ok rant over, sorry guys, just so worried our very expensive and long planned trip is going to be ruined by masses of highschool kids with special fastpasses. Booking in advance is neccessary for us coming so far but this time it has really been to our detriment :( Guess we'll have to wait and see how they affect the crowd levels, fingers crossed it doesnt too badly and they dont add any more additional dates.

We will be there May 29 - June 1, staying at the Residence Inn Maingate. We are WDW pros but haven't been to DL in about 10 years so it's time to read up. :surfweb:
