I have never liked how the classic style crocs look on my giant size 9/12 / 10 feet, i always felt like i had flippers on when i tried them on...i am a bit self conscious about my foot size and the fact that i am also 6ft tall. But now having seen all the cute new styles I think i want to give them a try, especially with dis coming up in august. So my question.... I am looking at the Maryjane and prima styles...I also liked the slip flops but wonder about the comfort off all these styles in the parks ??/ If my feet get sweaty will they feel super slick and unfomfortable to walk in? I don't want to have to keep wiping them out. I know in August its gonna be darn hot and though I don't anticipate having really sweaty feet ... its a definite possibility when its 100% humidity and 100 degrees :cool2:

Any feedback for a first time croc owner would be great. I am open to any style except the classic styles which I already know I don't like.

thanks !

Sounds like you could be my twin! I'm also 6' w/ a size 10. I was bullied into buying some and actually chose capri's. I love them so much, I'm wearing them right now and if I do say so myself, they look great! (I just went out shopping, it's pouring, my feet got soaked but not slippery) I've officially been converted. Come to the dark side...

ps- I originally bought a 10 but my toe kind of was close to the edge, so I returned them for an 11. shoebuy.com pretty much only has size 10 and 11 left. If you do the msn special along with ebates and sign up with shoebuy you only end up paying around $20 (including shipping) as opposed to $40.

ok here are my .02 cents...

I LOVE Crocs! I currently have 4 different styles and love every one of them. However I will say that my feet do sweat in them with out socks. Although my feet sweat in any shoes without socks. I NEVER wear a pair of closed shoes without socks so thats my personal opinion and I do know several people who wear theirs around the work without socks all the time.
Anyway way on with the shoes....I went last August and I wore my Crocs Athens every single day, all day. It was hott out and we did lots of walking but my feet were very comfortable and cool (BTW the athens are a sandal flip flop). I had no blisters the thong didn't bother between my toes nothing. It was like walking on a cloud. I love them. So for the world that would be my personal suggestion if your going to buy a pair. BTW...if ordering them offline...since its your first time I suggest buying them from the crocs website directly and wearing them in your house for a few hours to see if you really like them or not....if you don't you can send them back to the company. Just so you know. Good luck croc shopping!!!

Hey could you give me details on how to get those rebates and stuff? You can never have too many crocs!

I'm happy to pass on the discounts! Go to msn.com. Scroll down until you see the shopping box on the right side, click on shoe sale (they change their deal every so often, now it's $10 off and free shipping, other times it's been 15-20% off and free shipping). This brings you to the shoebuy website, they seem to be running low on inventory this week but I'm sure they will restock sometime soon. Add whatever you are going to buy to your cart. Then open a new browser window/tab and go to ebates.com (sign up, if you're not already a member) if I remember correctly you will get 10% back of your total purchase (they send out checks every few months). Do a search for shoebuy. It will come up with various discounts offered but all you need to do is click on the store name. This will open a new window and bring you back to shoebuy.com. Go to view cart and continue to check out. Sign up for a shoebuy.com account (it's free) this will save you 5%, it will show up before you confirm your order, after all your info is entered.

Viola! It's quite a few steps but hey if it saves some dinero I'm all for it.

**I just went thru the process to double check it and the $10 msn deal is $10off a purchase of $40 or more, if this deal isn;t what your looking for a new one will be up tomorrow.

Hope this helps (and makes sense)!

I was a first time croc user at Disney last month. I was too chicken to buy a cool color so I just bought the khaki cayman. I got them for $20 at shoe buy and I thought they were decent. No blisters and I didn't have to worry about the water rides. They get a little squishy when wet but they dry pretty quick.

I would give them a try if you can get them for the $20 range. I have a pretty big foot too (9) and I think they look better with the strap up instead of behind the heel.

:thumbsup2

thanks ladies....great tips and i am heading to msn.com now to see what i can get :) I am a huge flip flop lover so those appealed to me right away but i wondered about the thong being uncomfy but doesnt sound like an issue.

HeY Emily...I am from Boston as well, south shore to be more specific. Bummer loss last night huh...and that was one heck of a longggggggg game !!

Lots of great places to shop down there! I'm in the metrowest area, down the street from the new "Natick Collection" aka natick mall, although I think they're going to requie you to own a black amex card to even park there!

Ugh, lets not even talk about last night! I'm not sure if I'm more grouchy because the sox lost or because I had to watch the yankees win

oh yes i heard about the new natick complex...my friend lives in sherborne out that way and she is all excited about it...though she has money to spend too. And she isnt going to be buying any crocs :rotfl: We have a large complex here called derby shops which is a perfect blend of high end and the average person's stores. In fact that is where i will be heading to try on some crocs before i decide on the style i want.

I bought my daughter a pair of Mary Janes yesterday. She loves them! While only being 5'6", she wears a 9 1/2 to 10 and they look so nice on her feet, much better than the pair I have (don't know what they are called). I want to get a pair for myself.

I just broke in and bought my first pair of crocs a few weeks ago after hearing so much praise on dis….:thumbsup2

I wear a size 10 or 11 and thought that crocs were the ugliest shoe I had ever seen until I found a pair of “cleos” at a department store. They are WONDERFUL!!

Today I ordered a pair of “sobeks” from surfanddirt.com. The only discount this website offers is free shipping with a minimum purchase of $50, however, they have many to choose from and most sizes are in stock.

Give them a try….:cool1: ....you won’t be disappointed!!

One last question.... what chain stores sell crocs with a good selection? When I put in my zip code on crocs website it only listed one place near me but I know of some stores that sell the classic croc's but I want to try some of the other styles on. Any nationwide sport chains anyone has bought them at ?

Don't get the Primas for WDW. They are not as padded and your feet will sweat profusely unless you wear socks (I like hue hidden cotton liners, they don't show). Oh, also, if you don't wear socks, your feet will make farting sounds when you walk. Anyway, if you are a 1/2 size, they might give you trouble, too, as they are pretty true to size and only come in whole sizes.

Mine are too small, but regardless, I'd never be able to handle a whole lot of walking in those things. The Athens flip flops are much better for that, although I'm not going to wear them to WDW because they have no support...back to Nikes for me...

i have croc flip flops beach and mary jane after a day at the park and i go every weekend flip flops and beach are excelet but mary janes give me blisters... they r fine for normal day but not a day at disney.

I'm an anti crocs person myself. My parents convinced me to at least try a pair of the croc flops (as I call them) since everyone raves about the crocs on here and we're going for the first time in the fall.

I got a pair of the Athens and have been pleased so far. The footbed has more support that I expected and are pretty comfy. I don't like how high up the flip flop straps are, I have a narrow foot and sometimes slip around in them a bit (and yes, I did get the proper size) but I think they will be sufficient for The World.

and now, I am partially ashamed to say I own a pair of the Disney crocs for adults - the rents ordered mine when they ordered theirs. At least they're pink with mickey heads I guess :confused3 I have size 8.5 feet and still feel like I'm walking around in bubble gum pink boats.

At least if we wear them down there, everyone else will be too so we won't look weird, right?

I have never owned a pair of crocs, but I keep hearing about them on the boards. We are going to the World in September, and I don't know whether or not to buy some. Everyone keeps repeating (guide books, etc), how important it is to have good, broken in Tennis shoes (NOT SANDALS) to wear while you are there. I am curious, though. You said your wore the Athens, and had no trouble? How many days in a row did you wear them? Also, would you recommend children wearing crocs or Tennis shoes. I want to buy some, but don't want to go all out if it will be a waste of money. Anyone with comments, please I am very interested. Thanks so much.

I wore my athens 10 days at disney (day and night auctually) in August and wore them 5 days only in December (not at night only bc my feet get cold). In August I tried to wear my regular sneakers one night and was miserable bc I was uncomfortable and my feet were hott. And I wasn't doing any light walking either (not like there is such thing in the world). So they worked out really well for me and I never ever had blisters, sore feet, nothing like that. Now for kids I can't really say...I don't have kids nor have had any experience with kids in crocs. Although the kids I sometimes babysit for the little girl has several pairs and absoutely loves them. That is all she wears for playing and such never has sneakers on. I don't think the kid even has any sneakers. If you have any other questions just ask!

Thank you so much for your input. There seems to be a consensus here about them. I think I may try them first for myself and then decide about the kids.

I decided to give crocs a try early last fall and fell in love with them. Since then I have bought 2 more! I love my Caymans, I wore them all over the parks and I picked up a pair of brown mary janes last month. I wear those to work a lot. Part of me wishes I didn't get such a boring color (chocolate) but for work they good.

lrab1126 I'm also from the South Shore! Derby Shops are definitely the place to go. The Paper Store has only the beach style, but in lots of colors. Shoe Market and REI have a pretty good selection. That's where I've gotten mine. Shoe Market has a few different styles, REI just the Caymans and Mary Janes.
