I may be able to pull off a solo trip in late January / early February. Just me--no DH, no kids, no grandkids, no dogs! I love them all--but YAY!--alone time at WDW to do what I want when I want just can't be passed up!

I'm not interested in staying on-site at a Disney owned hotel. IMHO, the cost is too high for what you get. So, I need to find an off-site hotel. Here are my "requirements"

1. Safe
2. Clean
3. Cheap (Not more than $79--less would be much better!)
4. Not too far from Disney property.
5. Nice pool (if weather permits)
6. I will have a rental car, but the option of a shuttle would be nice.
7. This is not a necessity, but woud be a bonus: A kitchen/kitchenette, on-site restaurant, or breakfast included.

Any suggestions? Thanks!

I've made many solo trips to Disney.

I really like the Marriott Village in Little Lake Bryan (www.marriott.com--Lake Buena Vista as the city). There is a Fairfield, Courtyard and Springhill Suites. 1 mi to Downtown Disney.

I have also stayed in condos (Cypress Pointe and Silver Lakes are close) 1 mi to Downtown Disney. I like having the jacuzzi in the room!

I would avoid many of the places on 192 and look at the Lake Buena Vista area and Downtown Disney area.

I have also stayed onsite solo---and in Jan/Feb there may be some codes out that would make staying onsite in your price range (unless you have an annual pass--don't forget to add $11.00 per day parking back into your "hotel costs" for offsite).

how long are you staying?

some places that are wonderful for a week - are horrible for a night or 3.

(the price is the same)

also check
www.travelzoo.com - it sometimes has some of the DD hotels listed.

spiceycat--I'm planning for at least a week; hoping for 10 days.

I hadn't considered a condo. That's a great idea! I love the idea of a jacuzzi--do they have washers/dryers, as well? THAT would be great!

It would be wonderful to see some discounts and/or codes for January. Any idea when those might show up?

Most have washer/dyers.

I have used hotelkingom.com for Cypress Pointe.

You can also look into skyauction and redweek.

If you are ANY type of government employee (and I mean ANY) try getravelop.com

Keep checking mousesavers for codes--they could come at any time.
