May at The Fort - Anyone?

We Will Be At The Fort From May 4 - 13. Almost Time To Leave.

My dear wife never drinks..... here is a poll question :grouphug:

Should I let her drink a bushwacker?:rotfl2:

Peace:hippie:

Gawain

Well I don't know about the Bushwackers.....but I can fix some "Skip and go Neckeds" that'll make you want to take back stuff you never even stole:eek: :cool1: party:

I grew up in Kirkwood 434 Joe Ave...and lived in Des Peres 12344 Dunmorr.
My youngest daughter graduated from Kirkwood High and she'll be along
with Hubby and baby boy.

I'm an old Disney Vet, first visit to DL in 58, as is DD but her hubby is a first timer.

I've only been to the SBC/AT&T building in Des Peres.

hey Homebrew2! I grew up in Des Peres (off of Lindemann Rd) and I graduated from Kirkwood High in 1978! I am one of 7, so you may know one of my siblings.
I am 2nd to the youngest.
Alot of my family still live in Kirkwood and Des Peres.

Those Skip and go neckeds sound interesting...

Jon Renne',

I'm 5happycamper's NH (numb husband). ;)
You pulling that Kiwi from Lower Alabama (LA).. just kidding? :rotfl2:

Our trip is only 600 miles and 5happycampers won't let me drive that short distance without an overnite.:confused3

I don't drink Bud or Miller or anything lite.... I enjoy hoppy beer, maybe an IPA:cool1: .. something from a microbrewery.... we have a microbrewery near us in Jonesborough, TN that brews a Scottish Ale which is supurb:cloud9:

If nothing else is around, I enjoy Sam Adams or a foreign porter. Love Guinness, but I like to get my buzz on faster so usually drink something with a little more kick.pirate:

We've got maroon ford f150 and as my wiffeypoo explained, I'll have the parrot connection going on pretty good. Oh, I'm making a mickey light and the tiki tavern sign will be hanging from it.

Cheers!pixiedust:

Gawain

thats funny....numb husband...lower alabama!! :lmao:

our trip is about 700 miles but we drive straight through. if we leave around 3 am we get there right after lunch and the traffic is light. do ya'll always stop in the same place for the overnighter? we've only camped at a couple of times at a KOA. they weren't bad but nothing great in comparison to FW.

wow, if Guinness doesn't get your buzz on I surely can't hang with you but I bet my hubby would give you a run for your money...lol we'll definately have to meet for a 'round or three :woohoo:

for this trip our party consists of
me & my hubby (chad)
his mom Rose
our 2 dd's 14 & 12
and our 2 chihuahua's

how about yall?

Guinness actually has a very low alcohol content. I love the taste tho :thumbsup2

5happycampers is dear wife, refer to an ealier post as to when she gradulated from Kirkwood High for her offical age. :teacher: I won't risk bodily harm by revealing that here:scared1:

I gradulated from Ottawa High in Ottawa Kansas in 1972.:hippie:

Youngest daughter is 4:rotfl2:
Middle kid is 14 year old daughter.
Oldest kid is 17 year old son.
No animals are making the journey.. we have a cat and dog which are staying in Tennessee.

Last drink 5happycampers had was a sloe gin fizz a couple years ago:laughing:

I gradulated from the University of Kansas. While I was there the most popular wet libation (as apposed to :hippie: )was "hop skip and go necked punch". You take a can of frozen orange juice and empty that into the blender. Followed by a can of beer (fill the empty frozen orange juice can with beer and dump into the blender) followed by a can of vodka (use same empty frozen orange juice can)... and blend until well mixed. Taste real good too...:cool1: the beer takes the vodka to the blood about as fast a gatoraide and the punch tends to hit you like a ton of bricks:eek:

sloe gin fizz a couple of years ago.... you are such a trouble maker today... :rotfl2:

This is our first long trip with the TT. Craig would love to drive straight thru.
But, there is not much leg room in the back seat of the truck for the two teens
and one of them has to sit in the middle so she will have almost no leg room.
So... I think a nice drive and a stop over would be great. We have never been in Georgia, atleast the kids and I havent- DH has pretty much traveled the world, and I think it would be fun to see a bit of the Savannah area while we are passing thru.

I wish we could bring our dog... he is just TOO big.

Chad, Renee', Homebrew2, and everyone else, we are looking forward to meeting you and maybe guzzling a pint or two.pirate:

Craig

I got Jack to give me the finger in Yankee Stadium saying that he couldn't handle the truth.

That's just sayin' "Welcome"..it's the Oficial New York Salute!:rotfl:

Gawain & 5happycampers you guys are 2 funny!! The wet libation sounds easy enough we might have to give it a try.

I've heard some really good things about Stone Mountain but we haven't made it there to camp. If you have time the Coca-Cola factory is pretty neat! Here is a great website with campground reviews
http://www.rvparkreviews.com/index.html

We were suppose to go to County Music Fan Fair (in Nashville) then Mickey called... ;) And we are selling the tickets and going to FL instead.

I'll be on the lookout for those New Yorkers :rotfl2:

We will be in the Cabins, staying 5/23-27. Then, we will be at OKW for 5 nights. Our group will consist of DH, DS and DD and a newbie friend of theirs (my DD is planning his "Disney baptism"). Since they are in college, we rented two golf carts. We have not stayed at FW for years and I am sooo excited. I am just sad there are no peacocks. Hope I see some lime green ribbons!

Cool DisneyMomOK and ChrisAlli :thumbsup2

Soooooo, we need to set something up.....

I love making donuts and catfish nuggets in the deep fryer.

Homebrew2 can bring some home brew and Jon Renee's DH can bring some bushwackers and auntie can salute the absent peacocks to her heart's content. :cheer2: Who am I forgetting.. oh, Gatordad can give us his impressions of Jack N.:yay:

So, we'll host a little Tennessee style git-to-gather if you all are interested. The only question is if and when? We could meet for happy hour (pre-dinner)or use my donuts for an excuse for after dinner cocktails and desert.

Your turn to respond.

Peace,
Craig
:hippie:

you are going to change the oil in between catfish nuggets and donuts? correct?

:confused3 :scared1:

oh, OK.... for those with sophisticated palate I'll comply with yer request.popcorn::

Heck Craig....don't be changin' that erl....them fish flavored donuts are gooood.

I tried sending you a PM, but I get an error to the effect that I don't have enough posts?

So please give me a shout at ddunton at fidnet dot com, and we'll get this thing
going.

:hippie:

Sounds good to us, pre-dinner / after dinner whenever  not so sure about the catfish donuts but I'll try anything once....after I get Chad to do it first :lmao:

No need to set a date and time to stop by for a happy hour drink (when isn't it happy hour on vacation  ) Chad wants to bring some Abita for this trip too so you Yankies can give it a whirl :scared1:

It'll be hard to set a day when we are all arriving / leaving at different times. Anyone figured out if theres a day when we'll all the there?

oh, btw...We bought a new truck on Sunday but we don't have it yet. We're flying to pick it up in Dallas on the 9th. Its a GMC Sierra 3500 diesel duelly long bed...I'm pretty sure I got all that right. I think I heard Chad say something about an Allison transmission but that might be wrong ?? boys stuff  Anyway its definately more roomy than our dakota quad cab!!

I will get this started . Anyone that is interested can pm their info to me or post here and I will keep updating the list. Please let me know if there is an error.
