I am so excited. I have requested the time off work. Waiting for a response from the boss about the time. We are planning on going in January either the 5th through the 9th or the 11th through the 15th. Husbands birthday is the 6th so he would get the free day, but there is a great deal with a homeschooling group the 11th through the 15th.
Here is the cast of characters.

And me--Dana

We are leaving the rest of the crew at home, yes even the dogs :rotfl2:

I have priced out staying on property and off property and of course staying off is a much better price and the hotel offers a free breakfast. Last May wasn't all that great staying os anyway so it isn't a bad thing at all. We always drive and we don't use Disney tranportation so it isn't hard for us to get around. If I can get a very good price on a room on property(a package deal with the homeschooling group) then it would be ok.

I have been working hard on this trip as it is really short notice for me. I start planning WAY in advance. So, now it is just hurry up and wait. Wait to see if I can have the time off, wait for the quote from the group, waiting, waiting, waiting.................:sad1:

So today I found out I can get tickets only with the homeschooling group :woohoo:. The price is great on the tickets but the room rates are still at rack rate so it looks like we will be staying off property which is fine with me. If Disney comes out with a good deal on rooms for our stay we may change our minds. AAA has an ok rate for that time of $67.90 at the values but I am hoping for a lower rate like Disney has right now or maybe free dining :cloud9:. So still in the preliminary planning stages.

OK, OK,OK so plans have changed AGAIN............:rolleyes1. While the orignal plan was for just Dale, Dallas and I when the 4/7 came out everybody else chimed in and wanted to go. So the dates had to make a change and I mean a DRASTIC change. So we are changing from January to May. We are booked May 15-22 at Fort Wilderness cabins. I am really glad the "BIG" kids want to come again.

Well, if anyone is here from last years report they will remember Amanda was going to bring Anthony with us for the trip this past May. Well, they broke up so it didn't happen. Now, she is dating Matt and he is included in the trip for May in 2009. We will be staying in a cabin at FW and it will be our first time there. I am way too excited :cool1:. I am just in awe of the price for the trip. It is $2000.00 cheaper than last year and we stayed in 2 rooms at ASMu. But, now we did have the DDP and the free add on to the tickets of water parks and more. But, with 7 days I don't need to park hop. And the DDP was a disappointment.

I really hope some of my last year friends come on board and will be back in May. This time I will make the Dis meet if there is one.

This is more of the characters for the trip and NO matter my opinion the one in the middle ISN'T the boyfriend.... Amanda on the right and Tyler on the left. I will have to try and get a picture of the boyfriend.

OH and I haven't even addressed the dogs yet .

Ok Amanda's boyfriend is a definate go. Last night I almost had a heart attack because he said he wasn't sure he was going to get to go :scared1:. We have the 4/7 booked at FW cabins for May. I was about the throw a fit because I had the same problem with the ex-boyfriend last year. We had everything booked and paid for this past May and Amanda and her boyfriend broke up........... Thank goodness I was able to change the reservation and get all but $50.00 back.

Now, we have got to decide if the 2 furry family members are going with us or being boarded at the vets office.

This is Dale's baby Daisy

And baby number 2 Niko

If I have my way we will leave them at the vets office, if not then I guess FW kennel with be their home for a week. We have taken Niko twice already and it was really a chore to have to go to the kennel so often to walk, feed and just visit the dogs. I want to spend the time in the parks not at the kennel.

Hey, the WDW kennels are now being run by Best Friends Pet Care, and I believe from reading the description that they actually walk/feed your pet now.

Yeaaaaaaaaaa :cheer2: my first reader. Thanks for joining.

They will but, Niko is sooooooooo mean................:lmao: We have to go do it ourselves. I don't know why he is as mean as he is. He will be barking and growling at you and wagging his tail like his is just so happy to see you  He stayed at the Kennel at the TTC the past two years. This trip we will use the kennels at FW and it will be Daisy's first trip so we will have to see how she does. DH has even said if his "babies" are not happy he will get a room somewhere else that they can stay with him :rotfl2: :rotfl: Now is that a fanatic or what?

That's so sweet of your DH!!! Hey, I see that we are both from AL. Where are you?? I'm in Birmingham. :goodvibes

I know all about the "aggressive" Dachshunds! :) I worked for vets for 12 years and had a pet/housesitting business and that was one breed of dog in particular who loved me, especially the ones that would tear everyone else up! :rotfl: There was even one that particularly vicious and she was so bad that the vet had me start bringing her home to keep because nobody could touch her! Now, cocker spaniels on the other hand..............my magic didn't work with any of the "vicious" ones that we saw so well! :rotfl2:

Yeah, he loves his puppies :dogdance: :dog:. They are both sleeping in his lap as I type :rotfl:. Yes another Bama Disney fan :yay:. I live in Mobile. I haven't been to B'ham in a long time. I used to go up there several times a year.

Niko has even been neutered and we thought that may help calm him down and make him a LITTLE less aggressive, but it did not :scared1:.
Sooooooooooo we are stuck with a mean ole thing, but he is cute. I love cocker spaniels they are such pretty dogs. But I think my all time favorite is the basset hound.

Ok Monday (12/1) I called and changed our tickets to one day tickets. I am not sure if we want to park hop or not and I know DDBF wants to go to the water parks at least one day so I didn't want to lock us into anything. I figured we could update the tickets once we get there and everyone can add on what ever they want (they will pay the diffrence though........:rotfl:).

I don't think we are going to make any ADRs since we are staying in the cabins. We will be eating most of our meals there. We just did not enjoy the DDP last year. The only way I would go with the DDP again is if it is offered free when we are there. My family is soooooooo picky it was very hard to find places we would all enjoy. Everyone can just eat what they want at the cabin. We will go grocery shopping after we get there.

I am looking forward to staying in the cabins.

Hey! I found my way over from your link on your signature. Your family is adorable. The dogs are precious. I always wanted a weenie dog. LOL

The cabins will be great. I'm sorry you didn't like the dining plan. Which restaurants did you try last year?

So did you do any planning during Christmas?

Oh btw, I'm your next door neighbor. I'm in Georgia. LOL

Thank you, you are sweet to say so, spend a week with em............:rotfl2: :lmao:. Nah, I do have a good family. The dogs are my husbands OBSESSION. He LOVES his dogs. Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, I love them too, but I can't let him know how much.

The dining plan just isn't for us. I have very picky eaters so it is much easier to just order oop, and to eat off property. Let me see if I can add my link to last years trip report.
http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1788116

I loved Tony's, CP and The Plaza, Kona was ok, and Planet Hollywood was not so good. I don't have a problem with CS as most are the same.

I am really looking forward to the Cabins as my DD's boyfriend is going with us this year. If you read last years report it tells about last years DBF drama..........:rotfl2:.

The only planning I did during Christmas was payment plans............lol. I want to have the main part payed off before our 45 days out. Then anything I can save will be a bonus. DH isn't much of a saver though..........:scared1:

I see that we are neighbors, so Howdy. I love living in the south, just wish I was a little further south, oh say like 500 miles................lol.

Ok so it has been a long time since I last updated, sorry. I have been so busy with Christmas and work.

We had a very good Christmas, but I am glad it is over. That means it is closer to our trip .

We have decided to leave the 4 legged members of our family with our vet as I don't think I could stand the 7-8 hour drive to Disney with Niko and Daisy barking at Matt the WHOLE time :scared1:. I would be ready to pull my hair out  Now, that being said, we are still 4 months out so plans may, and most likely will, change again :rotfl2:.

I think we will go without the park hoppers this time as the "big kids" do not want to add the extra money to their tickets. Dallas really wants to park hop, and he really is the boss, so that will still be an option for Dale, Dallas and me. Dale wants to eat at Chef Mickey's, I am wanting to try Tusker House this trip so I am watching for our 100 days to make that ADR. I will let him know after the ADR is made  :rotfl:

I have reseved the rental car and so far the prices have not dropped, but I am still hopeful. I have a decent rate of $357 for 8 days. If I could figure out how to drop that extra day it would come down by $45 dollars. The only way I can figure is to rent it in Pensacola, which would mean us driving over there, unloading our car and loading the van, then doing the same thing when we come back home. I don't know if it is worth all that or not.

I have already started buying Dallas clothes for the trip and I HAVE to buy me new ones. I have been dieting and so far I have lost 32 pounds :dance3:. I don't want to buy too soon as I hope to lose more weight and don't want to have to buy clothes twice.

So that is my updates for today. Not much of an update though.......lol.

Thanks for being here :grouphug: and have a magical night......:goodvibes

Your family is to cute...Joining in. Can't wait to read more. :surfweb:

WOW my thank you post did not post :confused3. Anyway, thank you so much for reading, I love having company. And thank you for the comment on the family they are a pretty good bunch :rotfl:.

Are you doing anything special to lose the weight? I am having the hardest time getting my 2nd baby weight off. I spent 8 weeks on bed rest and delivered 6 weeks early and yet I gained double what I gained the 1st time. Yikes! Oh, well after IVF I am just happy to have my baby. Let me know...I need to find something to do. I called Jenny Craig, but holy cow...that is way too much money to spend.

OH my yes Jenny Craig is way too high as is most of the weight loss places. I am taking phentermine, it is a prescription diet drug. I have a wonderful doctor who gave me the script. It worked really really good the first 2 months now I am in month 4 and it isn't working as well........:scared1:. So, I am really going on shear will power now :scared:. I have come this far and I intend to finish. I was really small before I started having my kids 21 years ago, but now it seems that after each child the weight never completely came off. I don't still have baby fat since my baby is 10 but my body changed. Weight distribution is different now.

If you don't mind me asking what was your diagnosis during pregnancy? I am a neonatal nurse and it is really good that you got to 34 weeks. We don't worry so much, as nurses, when the baby is 34+ weeks. I guess you got some steroids? That makes weight loss a little harder too. And yes, once the baby is here, and doing good, it is all worth what we, as moms, go through. And your little man is very handsome.

With my first I had toxemia and was put on bed rest at 32 weeks. I went into labor on my own at exactly 37 weeks. My blood pressure goes up and my protein levels get out of control. Other than that..they say I look great. With Austin I had IVF and gave myself countless shots. Got pregnant with twins. Lost one at 14 weeks and started developing toxemia again at 28 weeks. I was already on aldomet from my 1st pregnancy. They kept increasing the dosage but it didn't seem to help this time. At 30 weeks they put me on bed rest at home. I went into the hospital 4 times and was kept for short stays. Very expensive hotel stays I call them. I went in the last time the night before I was 36 weeks. They decided they had enough and induced me the next morning. My blood pressure that night was 200/106. They gave me magnesium during my labor. That is the worst thing I have ever had in my entire life. So since then I lost 20 weeks. Basically the 1st 2 weeks I was home. The final 40 plus pounds just won't shed. I have tried watching what I eat and even walking. No luck. I think I just need to really work at losing this weight this time. I have always been very tall and thin. I am going to WDW in May and have no summer clothes that fit...

You did have a difficult time, bless your heart. I had pretty non-eventful pregnancys, but had to have c-sections. All my kids were big babies though Amanda was 8-15, Tyler was 8-9 and Dallas was 9-9. I am not so luck to be tall I am 5'3.... It is hard to lose weight, I count every single calorie
I eat. I use an online calorie counter on about.com. It is super easy to keep up with calories taken in and burned off. You will be able to do it, I have to say if I can I KNOW you can.

Wow. My biggest was 6 lbs 11 oz Although if I had made it to a due date they may have been HUGE. I will have to try it. As I eat a scotcharoo. Ugh!!!
