May 9 Price Increase

Anyone have opinions on how sales will go once that price increase hits. Does it happen for new contracts and existing members at the same time, on May 9?

The price for non-members went up April 4. Received the following email from DVC just yesterday:

To answer your question, I think sales will go just fine. They have after every other price increase and I see no reason why this one will be any different.

I got the same email from my rep! I would have preferred knowing if add-ons at the other resorts are also eligible for the Magical Beginnings, and what their cost is, but I guess one can't look gift horses in the mouth!

What will happen to DVC I resale prices and Disney ROFR??

There is no DVC I or DVC II. Just the same DVC there has been since 1991. Only difference is SSR has a longer end date.

I have no doubt DVC sales will continue to boom. Since I joined in March 2002 there have been several price hikes and it hasn't hurt their sales at all. People are still willing to pay. I suspect we will see $100 within a year or so.

Resale prices should be strong, since it is a way of joining well below the current $95. Disney ROFR, I think, will continue to be excercised anytime there is a price offered that DVC feels will benefit it financially.

Magical Beginnings has been offered in the past for add-ons for 100-points, or more, if the points are available. Check with your guide to see if you can take advantage of this, or if it is still being offered.
