So speaking of this midship detective thing... It sounds like something I would like. Will my 3 year old? Her attention span is decent but I wasn't sure if she would really know what we were doing. What exactly does it entail?

You sign up for it at a self service kiosk and pick 1 of 2 games. You get a card to hold up to the magic artwork throughout the ship. (framed video screens that look like artwork) The card activates the screen to turn on. You also receive a map as to where the screens are located. Each screen will give a clue to solve the mystery. (such as the theif does or doesn't have a moustache) You cross of characters as you eleminate them untill you solve your case.

How many people in the FE? This is our first cruise and wanted to see how this works for future.

We have a total of 9 rooms on this cruise. 8 rooms will be exchanging gifts. Some cruises have more, some less. It just depends on the interest. Outside the room is a hook where the cruise line will leave any messages you may receive. FE group will hang a bag of some sort on this hook and depending on how the group is set up, you leave gifts for the people/state room. Some do it each day, once a cruise, each person, for the state room. It is up to the organizer and group. We are leaving it up to the person giving. Just something to do to add some fun. Some are very crafty and make gifts others will pick up items to give out. Nothing is to big or to small. It is all about giving.

Hello! We just confirmed our reservation for this cruise. I am so excited for my family as this will be our first time cruising with Disney and I have heard so many wonderful stories.

Do you know if it is too late to join the fish extenders thing for this cruise?

I just read through some of the previous posts and learned that the FE date to sign up already passed. If another one should open, I'd love to join it. I do realize that a lot of work goes into making some of the gifts, so I do understand the need to close out the group.

I can't believe I just found this group! We booked our cruise in early November so I should have thought to look for a group a while ago!

This will be our first cruise EVER! In our group of five will be:
Me (Shannon) - 29
My Husband, Cal - 28 but he will turn 29 on the ship! May 10th, which I see is a popular birthday in this group!!
Our Daughter, Calee (pronounced like Cali) - 4
Our Son, Joshua - He is 2 (turns 3 in July)
and My Mom (57)

Any other kids in the group around the same age??

We are going to be in category 5A - Room 10572...Anyone have a room near us??

We will be staying at WDW before and after our cruise. One night at Old Key West Resort before the cruise and 3 nights at Animal Kingdom Villas (Kidani Village) after the cruise!
I see a few other people will be at AKL after the cruise too! This will be our first time at AKL and OKW, so we are very excited!!!

Since this is our first cruise we didn't plan on doing FE's since we will really be getting to know the ship and exploring. I see that we are too late for that anyways, but I am definitely thinking about participating next time! (Hoping to take advantage of on board booking.)

Is there a meet set up? I would definitely love to meet a few DISers!!

My dad grew up in Corning. My mom moved there in HS from Punxy PA.. We use to go up all the time when I was younger. And when I was 13 my Uncle was a Manager of a JCPennys outside of Buffalo so we use to pass one of em along the canal area and ROLLLLLL.
