May 9, 2012: 5 Night Bahamas Cruise on Disney Magic

I'm so excited I can't hardly stand it!!!!

I talked to my parents last night and I think we are all kind of an agreement to cancel the Blue Lagoon. We just can't justify the 300+ bucks for an all day beach day when we are going to CC the next day. My dad also wants tour Atlantis, he's never been so I think we are just going to take a taxi over in the morning.
We are going to the Sheraton on Cable Beach. Seems to have good reviews and it is way cheaper!

My mom went to the Bahamas a few years ago. She said we "have" to tour Atlantis. We may just do that too, since I can't make up my mind on what to do.
If you have never seen it IRL.. definitely got there and walk around. It really is gorgeous!

Ugh! You guys are killing me! I have promised myself to get the crafty things finished this weekend...wish me luck on actually accomplishing that!

After doing the Fantasy ship tour yesterday I can guarantee one thing on this cruise...I will be rebooking for a Fantasy sailing! Wow, is she beautiful! Prettiest ship to date!
Good luck with your FE gifts :D
We will be booking a dummy cruise til we can book the Fantasy in 2014

I saw big 32 oz. size ones at the store recently. I

Does anyone know somebody who works for Starbucks???? :goodvibes
Now that's the size I need!!!!! My sister works at Starbucks. How many would you want?? I can see what she can get and ship them out to you. LMK

For all of you visiting Magic Kingdom before the cruise, you'll get to see the new Storybook Circus in Fantasyland!!:yay: They opened part of it a couple of weeks ago in mid March.
How exciting!!! Check it out.

Woohoo!!!! I need to check that link out when my kids are asleep!

The Magic should be pulling out of port anytime now. The cool part is she'll be sailing out right past the Fantasy. I'm soooo tuned-in right now! popcorn::
My BFF is on the Magic right now!!! It is her 1st cruise too, so I cant wait to hear her review!

I got my kids their State IDs today. They thought that was very cool! My FEs are coming along. Just about done.. just need to add some details.

We were considering that. May I ask how much it is? I had read that people were saying $25 pp -- is that still the case? Do you make a reservation for a day pass or can you just show up?

Ok here are some details that I found on here about it. You dont need to pre-book anything. Just show up and buy day passes. I emailed a friend this who is on the Dream right now....

http://www.starwoodhotels.com/sheraton/property/overview/index.html?propertyID=3067 You get full access to their pools and beaches. You get their towels, chairs, kayaks, snokel gear and I guess there are a few water slides. No food is included. It is $25 p/p. You can use the bus to get there! Otherwise a cab is $20 for 2 people 1 way. The bus it is!
The #10 jitney is located on George Street (across the street from the straw market entrance on Bay Street.
Go out the port exit and go one block up to Bay street..make a right. go 3 blocks.. it's on the left. Can't miss is

No real schedule. They run every few minutes from 6am -6pm

Cost is $1.25pp.

For the return trip there's a bus stop in front of the sheraton hotel.

She said that kids are 1/2 price... so $12.50. Hope thats the case when we go!

Thanks for the information! Good to know about the bus! That definitely would help a lot in case! And that would be great if kids are 1/2 price!! All good to know!!

Is your friend planning on trying out Cable Beach? I'd love to hear what they have to say once they get back. I did some research and this place looks great!:dance3:(Cole wanted me to add the dancing balls.)

We have Starbucks tumblers we take everywhere with us, but we normally stick with water and other non-carbonated drinks in them. I'm going to look around for either larger disposable cups or cheap refillable cups.

I saw like 32 oz. ones at the grocery store and at our Target recently. They caught my eye because I used to buy the biggest paper/hot cups w/lids I could find to take on WDW park vacations. I refuse to drink nasty NesCafe so I'd make a biiiig cup of coffee in the room with my good coffee and I didn't have to bite anybody because I didn't get my morning cup. :cutie:

Now that's the size I need!!!!! My sister works at Starbucks. How many would you want?? I can see what she can get and ship them out to you. LMK

I'll shoot ya a PM! :thumbsup2

Welcome Aboard :goodvibes

Apparently, I need to post 9 more times before I can send a private message. I will do so and then send the PM with the requested information for the FE. Thank you and see you in 38 days!

Thank you so much for posting this about the kids club! With a 3 1/2 year old DS and a 5 year old DS, I was concerned about them being really little. A ten year old is way bigger than a 3 year old, after all. Thanks again!
JessRx
WDW Annual passholder for many years but this is my first Disney cruise!

You can also email Cindy she is in charge of the FE and in a previous post posted her email.

Welcome JessRx :)

I have never noticed ones that large. I have some 12oz ones. I'm going to have to look again.

Is the coffee on the ship good? I have a Keurig which has made even my easy to please dh a coffee connoisseur :)

Yes! She cruised on the Dream this week! I will definitely post her review when I talk to her :thumbsup2

Welcome aboard!!! :welcome:

Kelly I am going to need to look for 32oz cups! That would be awesome! Steinmart had some cute grande size cups for 4.99. I thought those might be good for the kids. I need BIG!

I know someone asked about the coffee on the ship. I would love a review too! Also do they have a coffee bar too?? Royal Car has their own Starbucks type of cafe but you can also get liquor added to it! I swear Im not a lush but those drinks were FABULOUS!

^^^
The Cove Cafe on deck 9, forward has specialty coffees.

http://disneycruise.disney.go.com/ships-activities/ships/magic/nightclubs-lounges/cove-cafe/

The problem is they don't open until noon. I will have harmed poor unsuspecting fellow cruisers if I waited until noon to get my caffeine on. :scared1: For those with littler kiddos, note that the Cove Cafe is 18+. Also, the specialty coffees are an additional charge item. I'm thinking maybe if I go order an iced coffee black w/no ice I could keep it in our stateroom fridge. Then in the mornings I could pour it over some ice, add milk & Splenda, and be set to go. Oooor, bring Starbucks Via packets. In the warmer months I prefer iced coffee but the iced Via packets do a number on my tummy for some reason. Weird. So if I brought Via I'd have to drink it hot.

I think I drank whatever coffee they had around on our Dream cruise. Nothing in my memory stands out as far as if it was awful. I know our first morning I had room service delivered and that included coffee. Maybe I didn't care what the coffee tasted like because I was all into the moment sitting out on my verandah in the morning breeze enjoying fresh fruit & coffee.... :lovestruc

I'll need to figure out something for coffee too. I CAN drink it black, but do I WANT to drink it black??? NO!!!:rotfl:

I have a question for everyone. Since we're flying we have the dreaded weight limit on suit cases, and as of right now I have dresses and shoes and skirts and shorts and, and, and. How in the world am I going to pack all of this, plus pack the family? It's nut! I need help please.

No clue! I am always biting my nails when they weigh my suitcase. We have had to shuffle things around at the airport to make the weight limits work.

Kelly I am an iced coffee drinker year round. Morning= iced coffee Evening=hot. Ok and how did I miss that they have refrigerators in the cabins?!?!?! Is this all cabins... even bottom of the ship????
