May 9, 2012: 5 Night Bahamas Cruise on Disney Magic

Very cool pics Cindy! My DH would love that place

Cindy -

Thanks for the pics! This looks really cool and now we are back to not being able to decide. XD

You are most welcome!

Still working on where to stay for those 2 days. OKW doesn't have any studios available and we only have 21 points left. So, do we borrow and stay at Saratoga, or stay off property? Decisions, decisions.

Borrow/buy additional and stay on property!!!

We are staying at Bonnet Creek before the cruise. Havent stayed there before but it looks awesome and is on property. We rented thru an owner so it was cheaper than staying at POP Century.. and looks a lot nicer.. and is a full 2 bedroom condo

We have friends who stay there every time they visit WDW. They keep saying they are going to stay on property next time, but then can't pass up the deals they get at Bonnet Creek. We may just have to check it out one of these days!

ETA: I need 2 more posts before I can PM you, Cindy, but please add us to the list in your head and I'll send that PM in the next day or two when I have 10 posts! Thanks. :)

You can also email me at iloverags2@aol.com...whichever you prefer! (Although if you reply to this post, you'll have your 10!)

Hey guys!

I'm about to switch from the Jan/2013 Fantasy to this cruise (and then rebook the Fantasy on board)
We are saving 1300.00 now with this one... I NEED a Disney trip! :)
Of coarse I did all my research on Fantasy... now I need to spend some time on the magic.
This is all of our families first disney cruise (DH, Me, DS#1- 8, DS#2-6, DD 2)

Welcome aboard Brittany and family!

We stayed at Bonnet Creek (in laws points) over New Years a couple years back. It is really nice! We were also in a 2BR unit, and it was great. The resort has a mini golf course, shuffle board and great pools . . . enjoy!!

The pictures of the pools look awesome...I had no clue about the mini golf though! Nice!

I bagged my current FE gift idea as I do not have the patience for it. Now what??? :scared1:

Ok all you FE gurus - what do I do for the tweens and teens???? :confused3 I'm good with the little ones and the family - but I have no clue for the older kids. If I get desperate, the candy will be from me ;)

Post #10! I feel like an official DISer.

I am worried about the FE thing because I am just not... a crafty person. I have been scouring the boards and I have a few ideas, but hopefully there's some patience for a clueless, first time cruiser who should have started working on this months ago! And morning sickness is not helping my life either. Thank goodness I should be in ravenous stage before the trip!

Jen - I am no help to you but maybe someone else will give us BOTH some ideas. XD

I have been reading the board everyday -- I just haven't gotten around to posting lately!! :rolleyes1

Welcome Tiffany and Brittany!

Tiffany and others with boys around 4/5 -- my girls are 5 1/2 and the younger one will almost be 4. They just love to play with others, they don't care if it is a boy or a girl! We probably won't put them in the club while we are in port either. This vacation is about family for us too. I don't know how much they will go to the club, but they love to always be doing things so I'm sure they will ask to go a lot. We sometimes have work trips where they can go and stay in childcare and they are just glad that they can choose when they want to go to the club. We are first time cruisers too and you asked some great questions - I'm so glad there is Cindy and others to answer them! I was wondering about the dress-up night. We don't dress more than business casual/ church dressy -- so that is good to know that you see everything. If we cruise more we may need to acquire some other things, but until then...

We are getting so excited that I can barely contain myself!! It will be here before we know it!! :cheer2:

I haven't gotten around to posting a picture of our family and just got it on photobucket, but I need 10 posts to post it here!! I guess I'll have to stop lurking and post more!! :surfweb:

YEA! Congratulations Tiffany!! :cheer2:

I'm going to try to get there too!! :)

Do you guys have any quick links to info?? Like pics, navigators, etc???
I can't seem to find much on the Magic and it's freakin' me out going from the Fantasy to Magic...

I can't seem to find much on the Magic and it's freakin' me out going from the Fantasy to Magic...

The most recent DCL cruise that did this itinerary was back in June 2010. There is a website that has Navigators from back then...unfortunately we cannot post a link to that website here. I can email it to you...just drop me a line at iloverags2@aol.com and I will send the link to you.

You should be able to find some pictures in the Trip Reports section. I have a few on my Facebook page, although we stayed in a suite on that trip so the stateroom may not be a good representation depending on what type you will be staying in. The pics can be found here. I also have pictures from my October 2009 cruise on the Wonder with my mom. While not the Magic, they are very similar. Those pictures can be found here and here.

Hope this helps!

DIS has lots of great trip reports. I have been going through old ones from people who cruised on the Magic, because a lot of the newer ones are on the Dream or Fantasy. Karajeboo's is the one I'm reading now and it's hilarious. nenner1's has tons of great pics (including food) and some info on Key West, though the rest of the itinerary is different from ours. And here is podsnel's. She had an earlier Magic cruise that was awesome from early Nov 2008 but of course now I can't find it!

Beyond that, the official DCL page has some good pics/menus/info.

Unrelated, here's our pic! DH and I heading to a Christmas party and DS in his PJs. XD

I'm the same way! Tweens and teens throw me for a loop and I just never know what to do. Candy is always my go-to thing if all else fails!

Not crafty here either! Somehow any artistic talent that used to reside in my body has been drained!

I was wondering about the dress-up night. We don't dress more than business casual/ church dressy -- so that is good to know that you see everything. If we cruise more we may need to acquire some other things, but until then...

You will see dressed-to-the-nines, dockers & polo's, suits with no ties, etc. The only reason I dress up (because I am strictly a t-shirt, jeans, and flips kind of girl)? Because I have a few dressy dresses that I wear nowhere else! :rotfl:

Can't wait until you hit the 10 post mark!

I'm currently in the middle of sewing my fingers raw on this FE (really!) so this isn't much of a post. I swear I'll be back shortly to say my hellos to the new peeps & catch up properly. K?

Wanted to pop in with ideas for the teens/tweens since I have 2 teen boys. Boys? Easy! Deck of cards (my 2 love poker pirate:), frisbee, cheap shades, a buck, drawstring backpack, manly cologne samples, travel size sport sunblock, lip balm, blank cd-r to save their favorite vaca pics to, etc. Girls are easier than the boys! Hair accessories, travel toiletries, cheap shades, change purse, perfume samples, lip gloss, travel mirror, ... I could go on all day with the girls because I'm a pretty girly-girl myself. Lol! Hope that helped a little. My oldest just got his braces off so I don't have to police his candy intake as closely as before. :rolleyes1

Welcome!!! This is our first cruise too and I already told my DH that I'll be booking our next cruise while on board. Now I just have to decide if I want to do the Eastern Caribbean or Western Caribbean. I plan on tying it into next years opening of the new Fantasy Land! Perfect!!:cloud9:

You guys are so cute!

Can't wait to see your FE! Thanks for the older boy ideas. :thumbsup2

As far as FE ideas, my girls (13 & 9) love those rubber bracelets & there are watches that are rubberized, for some reason they seem to have them in shoe stores, I looked up some online and you could get several colors for next to nothing. Should work for boys or girls.

I am not doing FE this time but don't be surprised if you see me nosing through yours just to get ideas for next time. No sticky fingers, I promise

We can shop cruises together!! totally going for the Eastern though... Mexico is so bad right now, we have to get permission from DHs Commander (he's flys on Air Force One in the military) to go. That's not a good sign.

Right now I'm having a hard time finding connecting rooms BUT that might not be a bad thing with my parents ;)

Anyone going without Passports??
Since we switched last minute, I don't think I have time to get them.

Welcome Britster18!!!!

awesome pic pixiemon712!!!

I really like the ideas for teens gifts thank youuuu!!!!

During our land sea trip we'll be visiting Naples, first time, can you tell me the must to do!! which is the best shore? we'll stay just almost 3 days so we want to enjoy it!

Ok, I'm totally official now!! That was scary.
and YEA!!! for spending mother's day on the beach!!!
