Julie-did you book your airfare yet? I am just starting to decide on whether to fly or drive (we do drive to WDW alot, but this time might fly) What airline and price did you get (if you don't mind me asking)
Teh cheapest I can find so far is USAir out of Philly $176 roundtrip. I checked for Spirit airlines out of Atlantic City and they were more....I was surprised at that!!!

I am so excited about the fireworks (if they start by the time we are on there) that sound slike it will be so nice!!!!

Hey Bobbi, I actually got my tickets already for $176.00 rt which seems to be the lowest price out there right now. I would go for it if you see them for that price. I don't think it will go too much lower. The real truth of the matter is my Father got them for me for Christmas with his frequest flyer miles so they were free for him but that was the price. We got great flying times too. We fly out 7:00 a.m. (early I know but I want to get there asap) and we fly back on May 15th at 6:10 p.m. so we get to spend the last day hanging at the parks. Yeah!! I have never driven and while I don't love flying, it's so fast at 2 hours vs. 16 hours of driving

On another note, I hope that we get lucky enough to see some fireworks off the ship b/c I think that will be awesome on top of all the other cool things right? It's getting closer now

that was a great gift from your dad... If I lived far away I would fly in, just because I think the drive would be torture waiting to get to the ship...We live in Jacksonville, so our group will be coming in on a charter bus, so no one has to drive...and they will be there to pick us up when we return... so if we stay up all night the night before we can sleep on the way home...

Even though this is a singles Cruise... my family is going... those singles are not gonna have fun without me...LOL.... actually I am the singles sectrary in our church, so I am with them a lot... and enjoy every minute of it they are such a great group of people.... DH, DD (21), AND myself... my husband is looking forward to having coffee brought to the room every morning and drinking it from the balcony... it is just the small things in life...

Hi Cindylou01 - yes I was very grateful for the gift of air from my Dad. I would consider driving if I had someone to share the drive but it is much easier to fly that's for sure. I am so looking forward to ordering some room service and sitting on the verandah too and relaxing when my dd is konked out hopefully. It takes a lot to knock her out but the sea air and activities should do it. Oooh it's so much fun planning and anticipating this trip. It's a much needed break for me since it will be 3 years this June since my last vacation.

Hi All! My family is also on the May 8th Wonder. I have a dd age 5 and ds age 3. We also bringing along grandma too. We are traveling from Midland, NC. My dd and I went on the wonder in Dec. 03 and loved it. We are cat. 4 - deck 8. Look forward to seeing you all there!

Hi, Gina! My dd is 5 also.....maybe they will meet in the kids club! I also have son that is 7, so he is looking forward to his sister find a girl to play with, and leave him alone (hopefully, he finds a boy his age, too!)

Hello all: my wife and I are cruising on 5/8 with our 5-year old daughter. We have a 15-month old as well, and despite our best efforts it's impossible for our older daughter to not feel a bit neglected, so we're leaving the little one with the grandparents and taking our older daughter on this cruise as a surprise birthday present. We're not planning on telling her about what we have planned until we're in sight of the ship on embarkation day.

Idle question, maybe a bit intrusive, but I'm curious. I spent a lot of time trying to find "the deal" on the full veranda, and got into a Cat. 6 for $2,438 for the three of us. Given what I found on other sites, I think we did OK, but I'm wondering whether anyone managed to find a better bargain . . .

Hey Rejobako-Glad you found us! It will be me, DH, DS7, and DD5 on our cruise! Maybe our daughters will meet and play in the club!

Can't help you with prices....we booked an inside cabin. So ours is a much different price range than yours!

mbw: No doubt our children will get to know each other. Very cool!

As for the cabin selection, my wife (the bargain shopper, god bless her) was going to be OK with an inside cabin, but I'm the only one in the family who's a late-night owl, and I though it would be nice to have the verandah to escape to late in the evening after I tuck them in. So I talked her into splurging a bit. . . .

Look forward to exchanging tips with you beforehand. Sounds like we're really "in the same boat" because, like you, we've cruised before but not on Disney. Don't know if you've seen this, but it's probably the most comprehensive Disney cruise primer I've yet found:

Oh and to everyone that didn't read a different post that rejobako started about ....he is bringing along his own corkscrew...he is ready to party!!!!

I am getting so excited about the trip! OH...and I forgot to mention, my parents and in-laws are coming with us, too....so they will be looking forward to some "older" folks to party with, also!

Oh and to everyone that didn't read a different post that rejobako started about ....he is bringing along his own corkscrew...he is ready to party!!!!

Don't need a corkscrew, as I only intend to drink a little wine with dinner . . . but a cocktail shaker, vermouth-soaked olives, and a modest-size bottle of vodka will be in our carry-on -- don't know if I'll attempt martini glasses, though. May have to depend on our room steward to rustle some up for us. I have to admit, I'm no lush or anything, but other than spending some quality time with my family, one of the things I'm looking forward to is tucking the girls into bed and having no responsibilities other than hanging out on the verandah looking over the moonlit sea. It'd be a crime not to be accompanied by a cold dry martini.

Is it May yet?

(As an aside, during a recent overnight visit to Tampa, we stayed in a hotel and went down to the lobby bar to meet some friends, and my daughter decided she liked cocktails -- her idea of a cocktail being a virgin strawberry dacquiri; must say we got some interesting looks from the other guests the next afternoon when we got out of the elevator and she headed straight for the bar saying: "Mommy! Daddy! I want a cocktail!")

Well now, mbw; I prefer a martini more often than frou-frou drinks, but there's no way I can go on a four-night Caribbean cruise and not have at least one frozen "Goombay Smash".

This is shaping up to be a fun cruise already, and it's 3 1/2 months away. Good to know there's fun people signed up for it!

Rejobako - welcome first of all and yes it's a very good deal I think!! I paid $2464 for a navigator's verandah and luckily got upgraded to one of the 4 rooms that used to be cat. 5 & 6's (6134) with the full plexiglass verandah. Where did you get that deal if you don't mind my asking.

You got the one of the "hidden balcony" rooms? Congrats; I hear those are tough to find.

I shopped around quite awhile, and a Cat 6 was at least $2600 everywhere except at Allseastravel, which is a Disney approved agency out of Jacksonville. I liked their customer service too. Our agent there said if Disney unexpectedly offers a Fla. residents discount for that cruise (remote, but possible), they will honor the discount and refund the difference if we're already paid in full.

I am happy to have gotten the upgrade and I actually used AllSeasTravel as a match price and my TA matched the exact price they had. It seems the price you got was better somehow though especially since you paid for Cat 6 and I paid for Cat 7 and got the upgrade. Oh well, I'm just happy that I got it and a verandah. Can't wait to go.

Julie: when did you buy? I checked AST's website recently and the price for a Cat 6 on our cruise is now listed at over $3000. Yikes. It may be that we just reserved at the right time.
