What is the FE?? and how do you particpate?

Welcome Keri,

Rest assured, a Disney cruise will make it easy to enjoy your kids...even by yourself. You will probably even find some "me" time while the kids enjoy the kids programs.

An FE is an exchange of gifts between cabins. You can find lots of threads with great examples of both the actual FE to hang on your fish outside of your cabin and also examples of different types of gifts. If you decide to join just post your info on this thread and you will be added to the list of participants. We will find out how many wish to join us by March 15th and then you just have to plan your gifts. Once you are on the ship you will receive gifts from others in your FE. It's like surprise Christmas presents. You pick a time that you want to deliver your gifts to all of the cabins. We participated for the first time in May and it was a blast. The kids LOVED getting so many great surprises.

1. Do you buy for everyone in the FE (so if there are 30 people..you buy for all 30?)
2. What types of things are customary??..this is our first cruise and we are not really sure what to expect with anything

Some cruises will split the participants into more than one group if there are
A lot that want to do the FE, other cruises have everybody in one group. It is up to the group. My last group had about 15 (not bad). You can give anything you want. Some people give multiple gifts, others just one. Many are homemade. Some are store bought and even candy. It is totally up to each individual. If you browse through the FE threads you can see pictures of many types of gifts. Anybody with any budget is welcome to participate and make your cruise even more memorable!

Thank you so much for responding!! The FE seems sooo fun and I definately want to do it with my kids They will love it!
Here is the information about us
Me (Keri) - loves everything lion king & tinkerbell
Justin (7) - loves toy story & phineas and ferb
Abby (4) - is all about princesses (especially cinderella)
Justin plays soccer and Abby goes to dance class
They both love art projects/coloring; watching movies; and playing board games
Our room hasnt been assigned yet...I wil update when I have that information

Yuck, we had snow here in Indiana last night.

The biggest snow flakes I've ever seen! The dog looked out the back door and wasn't sure what to do!

I found some super cute FE gifts today. Is there a way to get an updated count to get a very vague idea of numbers so far? I also want to update the information for my daughter's family. She for sure wants to participate too. I have already tentatively added them, but she really does want to be on the list too!

We are looking forward to the holidays! Lots of preparation with a family this size!!! We booked our pre-cruise WDW stay. We were excited to get a 30% off room rate and we are looking forward to 5 nights at POR pre-cruise! I do love the planning!

I'm typically way more involved in these types of threads, but with work and the family things going on (dance, school, etc)... we've all been a little busy.

Not much longer (just 23 weeks) and we'll all be standing in the port at this time!

Hopefully as the spring approaches, this forum will become more active. I'm sure we are all busy with friends and family.

Here in Northern NJ it's starting to reach the below freezing temperatures. For the past 2 days, there has been frost on the cars in the morning.

It will be myself, my husband and my 2 kids. (7 and 11 at that time.)

This is our second cruise. We went on the wonder 5 years ago.

Hi everyone! My parents just gave us our tickets for Christmas We'll be doing a Dream Cruise/Animal Kingdom Trip to celebrate their 45th Anniversary on May 6.

I've been reading all the great threads here and see I'll need to do some shopping for a "fish-extender" and door decorations...we're first-time cruisers but have been to DW many times.

Please add us to the list, 2 adults, 2 kids (DD is 7 and loves Lion King, DS is 6 and loves Wall-e and Phineas & Ferb), Room 5150
