Well, I have begun to get excited. There is now 11 months 1 week until we are back at sea.  I think I enjoy the cruise more than the park. :rolleyes1 I will find out this next trip as we are taking my DSis (15) and DD (2mo). They will be 16 and 1 at time of trip. We are going to celebrate the Sweet 16 and 1st Birthday at sea. Then we are spending 5 nights at the parks after.

So the next question is: Who else will be on this cruise?

And what time and where should we meet?

I look forward to meeting some new friends.

I was looking for a thread on this. Funny that you started it. (Cinderelly31) is my SIL and we are going with them, at least as soon as I book it. ;) I cleared it with DH so I should make the phone call tmw. (while I am not wacthing Cinderellys new baby! :) )

So anyone else?

It will be Dh and myself and our 2 kids ages 6 and 2 years old (at the time of the curise.) It will be our 1st DCL, but we are old WDW pros, annual Pass holders and DVC members. :goodvibes

Welcome aboard to vgates81 who will be joining us also. She started a thread also, so watch both to see if others you know will be joining us. :thumbsup2

Anyone heading to the parks after the cruise for any amount of time? pirate: Maybe we could catch up for a dinner.

I am a big social bug. :wave2: :woohoo: I love to meet new people, which my DH says is his downfall. I drag him to a lot of events.

So it is offical. We are booked (cat 9, ocean view room) we even got the room next to SIL and BIL (cindrelly31). :cool1:

We signed up for the 1s setting since we have young kids.

So anyone else with us???????? :Pinkbounc

Wanted to say hello here also since id started a thread a while back for the same. I love to meet new people also but im always afraid to approach people for fear im intruding! Maybe thats why I dont know my neighbors! :rolleyes1

I hope the one year olds enjoy the cruise. My little princess: is to young to judge her travel capabilitys just yet being just a month old now, but my son is amazing on trips! He will sit through a 7 1/2 hour trip to Florida from our home in TN with no problems.

Id love to have the time to visit the parks after the cruise but dont plan on it just yet. Although we will be back I am certain!

vgates81 Hi, So far it is just the 3 of us huh for this Curise. Anyone else? I know it is a bit off, but come on, I know people book far in advance.

I am concerned about my just under 2 year old. She is too young too do a lot, but old enough to be aware of what she is missing out on. Still I think she will be ok, because we mostly plan it to be a family vacation anyway. I think not being able to go in the pool with be the hardest part (no way of knowing if she will be potty trained by that time.) Really it is hard to judge how the younger kids will be by time the trip starts. I think my oldest (will be 6 years old) will love it. :)

10 Months and 3 Days as of today... I added a ticker at the bottom of my signature! :Pinkbounc

Hello Lesley Mahler and Welcome :cool1: :welcome:

Veru cool that you will be on this cruise too. How old is your DD? This will be our 1st cruise and I am looking forward to it.

Welcome Lesley! :yay: I am hesitant to bother people but my mother is the complete opposite. She will walk up to complete strangers and become friends in moments. I think shes got a little magic fairy blood I did'nt inherit. :)

Anyways if by time ticker you mean the vacation countdown in my signature its really easy to set up just click the signature to go to daisypath and set it up how you like.

I have a question about the kids clubs. Parents are not allowed and I know my DD4 will probably not stay without me. If she doesn't go to the kids clubs and just stays with us on the ship and does things with us, will she miss out on a lot?

Lesley

Since we cruised the first time without children, I am not sure how much your DD will miss. I would imagine the first day they would let the parents stay a bit to see how the kids adjust and see what activities are there for the children.

When you get the the terminal to check in there is an area where you sign your child up for the Club and the crew members are there that will be with the children. You could see if there might be a person your DD "clicks" with to see if she would be comfortable going to the club with this person. The crew is so great with kids.

And if she doesn't go to the club, there will still be plenty to do during the day (swimming, movies, etc) and the parties at night are fun also.

I know taking a 1yo will be different, but we are still looking forward to it. She travels great so far, but I am learning that kids change daily. And deoending on my DSis grades in school might mean I have a babysitter most of the time instead of her going to the teen club.

From what I understand, DisBoard members usually wear something lime green for the meets and to identify other Dis members while on board or in the parks. I would be willing to make lapel pins for members to wear for the meet, or bracelets. If this is some thing you would like pls PM me with contact information and what you might like. If you wish for a bracelet, please measure your wrist and add 1". I will mail them out about 1 month prior to cruise, so you don't need to let me know today.

Lesley, my DD will be 6 on the cruise (her birthday is a month before.) Tell her she can play with Anna. ;) My DD makes friend all over while at Disney, then remembers them and wants to play with them later.

I worry more about my youngest. She will be just under 3 years old and I know she will want to be with big sister. However I don't know if she will be potty trained, and I am not going to push the subject for the cruise. If she is fully potty trained we can leave her in the club even if she isn't 3 yet. (and since her big sister would be there I would be ok doing that.)

I have been told that I can stay in Oceaner Club with her and play with her, so that is what we will be doing I think. I hadn't heard parents aren't allowed. In fact I am pretty sure they are, but not required, so most parents would rather get a break and let the staff do the watching while they get some adult time.

Thats not a bad idea. Closer to the date of cruise we will have to discuss If/When/How we can all meet up. :thumbsup2

I am so excited :goodvibes I just told my DD princess: (Amber) that Anna will be on the cruise! She can't wait to meet her! I am very interested in setting up a meet for all of us that will be on the cruise together! I just can't stand the wait!

For those of you who have cruised before, I need help with Nassau!! I have the Birnbaum's Disney Cruise Line Book and in the Nassau part they talk about leaving the beaches and going into the true Bahamas where Bahamians do their traditional dance, the junkanoo, and goombay music fills the air and you can sample some authentic island cooking (page 163 for those who have the book). But I am confused on how to do this because there is no excursion that resembles this and in the PassPorter's Field Guide it says that the Junkanoo takes place while our ship is out of port???? Please Help!!

Also, the Dolphin Encounter, has anyone done it? Is it worth the money? The book makes it sound like its a waste of money!!

Thanks in advance,
Lesley

Lesley, that is great about Amber. Anna is very excited. My SIL cindrelly31, little sister is an Amber too (she will be 16 on the cruise I think.)

This is my 1st cruise, so if you have questions about that I would start a new thread. I have found the cruise Dis members are super nice and very helpful. :thumbsup2 When I asked they said that your 1st cruise, especially if it not a week long one you really don't need excursions. There is enough on the boat to keep you busy and then when you have done it more then once start the off boat excursions.
