May 6, 2006 - 7 nite Western - Anyone Crusing?

Hi,
According to the AllEars Newsletter the Magic will begin calling at Cozumel from April 8th. Tenders will take guests ashore and they will need to back onboard by 5:30pm with departure at 6pm.

Mick.

:smooth:

Lisa, I hear you about something so small terrorizing something much, much bigger. My 1 pound cockatoo loves to chase my 80lb black lab around the dinning room table. It is the most hysterical thing to watch, but I never let Angel get close enough to Blue. She loves chasing after her tail. Even tries to get it as Blue walks by her cage. Dog torture, bird style.

I wonder why we are going to be leaving Cozumel so early?

My outfit from Disney catalog came today. The pants are alittle loose, but may shrink when I wash them. Feels good to have something I was afraid would be too small actually be the opposite. The top on the other hand is more on the snug fit than I usually wear, but I'll deal.

This time next month I'll be up in the air. :cool1: :yay:

Wow...that's earlier than usual for Cozumel! I'm glad we are going there again...I have a cousin who lives in Playa Del Carmen that we hoped to visit, just worried now that we need to be back so early. Hope that ferry still goes back and forth from Playa del Carmen to Cozumel with all the damage to the port in Cozumel.

I've been shopping a lot...and my guest room is covered in new clothes, and clothes my kids have outgrown. Have the rest of you with kids done that...made them try on last summer's clothes? My boys always dread that!

I am so, so excited? The last month seems to go slower than all the previous months!

Yep - DS was not pleased with me :teeth: I had him try on everything from last summer. Took less than 1/2 an hour but the moans and groans made it sound like I was torturing him! :rotfl:

Another day closer ! :Pinkbounc

Yes I will be having my younger DD try on some of her stuff from last year. She probably won't have much because she was hard on last summers clothes. We only have warm weather the first few weeks school starts up so I tend to get them skirts and capris instead of shorts to start out. The skirts they wear most of the year. But she does have stuff that was too big on her last year that might fight this year. She is such a bean pole that she really only changed in the length of her clothes. My older DD has alot of jean capris that won't work for the dinning room so I'll have to get her some that are different. She still needs sandles. Having a hard time finding something that is appropriate for a almost 12yo that fits her feet. She is out of childrens sizes.

I'm on the fence about doing the dolphin excursion that we have to take the ferry to the mainland. How bad is the ferry ride Dee Dee? Seems you have some experience with it. I would hate for my family to be "green" on such a expensive excursion.

Anyone signed up for XCaret? Will coming back so early cut short our visit? If we run late, the magic won't leave without all the folks if they are on an official disney excursion?

I haven't tried on my 3 boys summer clothes yet, and I also dread it. You would think I was burning them with acid by all the yelling they do about it. I was mentioning it to my older boys as we walked to school today and they were not impressed.

20 days until our vacation! (We're heading for WDW on the 26th).

So much to do! I haven't organized any packing lists, or tried on any clothes, or booked the magical express, or have any ADRs,or done any shopping!

I can't wait to go, but I'm worried we won't be ready. Plus I'm battling major
fatigue lately so I don't have any energy for anything.

Look forward to meeting everyone. Will there be a meet set up before I head to WDW?

Sandra

I booked this cruise before I found this wonderful site and we did everything through Disney. Flights, cruise and transfers ( have since learned it's better to go the day before) Anyway got on the DCL site just now and our flights are finally showing. Leaving CT. at 8 am. arrive Atlanta 10:29 depart Atlanta at noon arrive Orlando 1:24. Does this give us enough time to get to the port ??? :confused3 Not to mention it's Delta..... I am alittle nervous now.

Ordinarily I would be kind of nervous about those flight times (I think all aboard is 3:30pm) but since you booked through DCL, it's their problem, not yours!

It should work--if you touch down in Orlando at 1:24, you should be at the terminal between 3:00 and 3:30pm. If something were to go wrong, I believe the onus would be on DCL to make it right.

Sending lots of :wizard: for a smooth trip!

Count me in too for the May 6 cruise!!! I am so glad that I found this forum. This is our first cruise and first family vacation, so the tips and info on this site are awesome. One month to go! Traveling with my husband and our girls. My oldest will be 4 May 21, so I'm sure she'll love the Oceaneers Club. My youngest will turn three in July and she's potty trained, but she's registered for Flounder's Nursery. Is there a chance that the Oceaneer's Club would let her in because she is potty trained? Also we're booked for Palo on Saturday, May 6. It was the only reservation that I could get online, but the Nursery reservations didn't show anything available for that night. That why I was wondering if my youngest would be allowed in the Oceaneer's Club.

 Sorry, I don't know the answer to your question - I am sure someone will know though. But welcome to the DIS and welcome to the May 6 th cruise ! :cool1:

Sandra - Just a bit of info - I was just on the DCL site ( like everyday) checking things out and when I looked at the Tropical Jeep Safari we have reserved for Cozumel I see that the times have been changed from 12:15 -4:15 to 9:15 to 1:15pm.. Maybe the times for XCaret have been changed too?

We are under 30 days :cheer2:

In the main forums, this comes up pretty often. I've heard that if a child is within a couple of months of their 3rd birthday and is fully potty trained, the counselors will let them in on a trial basis. They do need to be able to go the bathroom completely on their own (getting in and out of clothes, cleaning up, etc.) You just need to talk to the counselors. I'm sure having her big sister there will help.

It seems the "chatter" has really picked up since I've been away - even without ME! (I've been in "rehab" getting over the chocolate bunny addiction before they bring on the souffle's!) Actually, I've had laryngitis and could't post for a few days. :guilty: My wife loves it. (She told me last night I needed to slip into something comfortable - like a coma. :cat: )

Hey Lisa, I'm glad you found a "day care" for your doggies. I just saw a new sign in front of Hunan's in Pensacola that said "CAT - the other white meat!" :confused3 I guess dogs are safe now!!! :smooth:

Hey Laura, just kidding about the Wonder. No one can be carrying more "stuff" than DW and I. We're staying an extra week in Orlando after the cruise so Disney can get every penny we have left! pixiedust: Anybody need a slightly used kitchen sink??

Hey Gina, yes, I have done my part to destroy the world's supply of bunnies this year. Just finished off number 7 last night (or was it 17? :confused3) BURP! Excuuuuuuuuusssseee me!

Hey Heather, just like the bunny who isn't made of chocolate - the Ever-Ready variety - we're "Still Going!" and looking forward to a lazy week of just sitting around saying "Thank God those aren't our kids!" I told my DS (age 30) last night I plan to give him a "going away" gift, but first he had to do his part! So far he hasn't taken the hint. :wave2:

We're already making plans to book another cruise for the Eastern cruise next year. Just a hint - if you shop around for the rates offered by other on-line travel sites and bring their quotes with you Disney will match them AND has been known to give up to $200 credits! (O.K. so I'm a cheap skate :scratchin )

Well, I guess I've run my mouth (cough, cough) long enough! :teeth: Don't forget the Bodine and zip - lock bags! If the Bodine doesn't help you'll REALLY appreciate the zip - lock bags - - - extra large!!

Later folks!
Chris :woohoo:

I'd thank you but I can't talk. :teeth: I remember dating a girl who said she once held her breath for 11 minutes! Actually, she didn't "talk" for 11 minutes - but it was as hard as holding her breath! I can relate! :sad2:

When I was growing up my Dad would only speak when he had anything to say. My Mom would talk UNTIL she had something to say. Who do you think I took after?? :confused3

That's enough typing. My throat is starting to hurt again! :lmao:

Have a great day and let's get packing - again, and again, and again, ad infinitum!

Chris :bounce:

P.S. Thanks!!!!!!

Sorry 'bout yelling, but IT'S ABOUT @#$%^ TIME they told us!!! :badpc: Just got off the phone with Disney and the changes DO begin this week. (I think I made her mad when I said "So you folks have changed your mind again? What did you do with the diaper?" She erased the call for training purposes. :teacher: )

BTY - I also locked in my shuttle transportation from the Radisson. If anyone has plans to stay there Friday night and to use the shuttle service Saturday I STRONGLY SUGGEST you call TODAY and reserve your seats on the shuttles. They fill quickly and you just might end up getting to the terminal faster by walking. (I wonder why they call it a terminal?? That's encouraging. Also FYI, the new "Poseidon" is being released on Friday night of our cruise. Hmmmmmmmmmmmm????) :3dglasses

Bye!
Chris :cool1:

A coworker of mine just got back from the Star Princess or Princess Star and they went to Cozumel. They had to be tendered in but she said that was fine..THe only part they had a problem was was the boat catching on fire..She had some cool pics, they flew everyone home, only missed one day of the trip and got a full refund...

Wishing happy thoughts for us

amy

Chris! So glad you are back and in good spirits! I've missed your humor too, glad to see you've still got it even with laryngitis! :thumbsup2 Take it easy on those bunnies though ok? Oh, and I made my ressie with Radisson back in July when I booked our room. I hope we are still on the list....perhaps I should give them a quick call just in case.

I'm actually glad we are going to Coz. Wish we could stay a tad longer though. I think we will be headed over to Paradise Beach. I've heard a lot of very good things about it. Anyone else NOT booking an excursion through DCL and just doing something on your own?

Welcome to the new folks just joining us! This is a FUN group!! :Pinkbounc

Heather

ps. we had the "last years fashion" fashion show, most of the stuff doesn't fit anymore, bummer.
