May 5, 2010 Magic of Barcelona

Those are so cute! I think DH would revolt if I tried to make him wear matching T-shirts.

Oh, and did we nail down an official 2:00 on day 2 meet time? I wouldn't mind meeting those who were willing the day before as well, just maybe a "say hi" kind of thing. What do you think?

Fortunatly my husband puts up with it. I usually make us dress up for Halloween as a family, so he's been the Beast when the girl's were all Belle, The Ace of Spades when we were all characters from Alice in Wonderland, Jafar when my daughter was Jasmine, Scooby Do when we were characters from Scooby Do and a Dalmation when we were characters from 101 Dalmations. He would never do it if I didn't love it so much. I'll porbably make him wear some sort of Pirate shirt for Pirate night. He's a good egg about that sort of stuff.

I'm up for 2:00 on day 2. I think we'll probably get on the boat late so I'm thinking day one won't work so well for us.

Lara:love:

I love the shirts, those are so cute:)

I think for the extra luggage tags, just call DCL and they'll probably send more. At port cannaveral the porters always had extra tags just in case, but I'm not sure if it will be the same in Barcelona.

I also keep reading the menus, I'm excited to see the extra stuff they'll have for the additional nights.

I would love to do a meet on either day. Unfortunately the crazy DCL flights may have us a little late on day 1, but I would definitely try to make it for either day.

All this talk about packing has me really excited! :goodvibes

One of the threads on the main page got me thinking... what is everyone looking forward to most onboard?

I can't speak for the family activities, but they have tons of them and they always look like a lot of fun.

Some of my favorites on DCL are: Match your Mate- it's adults only, but similar to the newlywed game, it's really hilarious.

I also love the themed nights in Rockin' Bar D. They do random themes like one hit wonders, 80's music, etc and you can win free shots and sometimes even spa treatments.

The random acts they have onboard are also really cool. On our last cruise they had illusionist Mike Super. He did both family and adult shows, both very cool.

This time I would love to try one of the tastings like the martini tasting or tequila tasting as well

There's a lot of fun stuff to look forward to :goodvibes

Hi Ilja - noticed your daughter's name is Demi too? My Demi just turned 5. Will definitely be cute to have 2 Demi's! Hers is short for Demitra - fairly common Greek name but don't know too many people who go by Demi.

:)
My Demi (pronounced as Amy with a D)will turn 5 in December. Saw your picture on the other website. Are you Chinese? I am, but my daughter is blond. She's exactly a mini-me, but with her dad's color.
Here's our pic from last year wonder in nassau:

Well, I don't really know exactly what they have, but I noticed some cooking demonstrations on previous navigators and plan to attend whatever of those I can. I have recently really gotten in to cooking and food network, so these sound fun to me. Also, DH and I will probably attend any seminars about the ports if they have those again.

They had cooking demonstrations on our cruise last May and they looked really interesting. My parents did the Galley tour and said that was really neat. They also have a tour of the theatre, I think. I'm also hoping for some port information too. I have a few guidebooks, but a presentation would help. If it's anything like the carribbean shopping presentation, it may air on the TVs in all the staterooms as well... not sure if that will be the case, though.

Cute picture! Nope, I'm Korean and my hubby is Greek by origin so our daughter has the dark hair and olive skin. Interesting about Amy with a D - I totally see the blond asian in her - how adorable!

2:00 works for us as well. Where would be a good place?

Eating.

I didn't get to try AP last time, since my daughter was conked out in our stateroom, and we haven't tried Palo yet, so those will both be firsts, as will Lumiere's since we were on the Wonder last time. So, lots of new foods to try!

Watching my daughter watch Disney Dreams again. She loves that show and still talks about Anne Marie and Peter Pan. I know she will love the kids' club. We didn't spend much time there on our 3-day cruise, but it was really neat. This time, I'm much more comfortable leaving her for a bit. She's older, fully potty trained and just much better at being without mom. Mom is also better at it, lol.

I also plan to try the spa. I did a spa package on the Wonder the day we were at CC and loved it. I thought it was reasonable when booked onboard, so I'm hoping they have more specials to book onboard like last time. I at least want a facial and massage. My gift to myself after all that pre-cruise travel!

I would love to do the martini tasting. I like the fruity martinis, but haven't really tried the others. Hate to pay $10 for something I then won't drink, so I like the idea of a tasting.

So, pretty much looking forward to food, entertainment, spa and alcohol.

Hi,
We'll be staying at the Renaissance Airport Marriott before the cruise. Just wondered if anyone else was staying there?

I'm also really excited about the food! You'll love Palo... their chocolate souffle is my favorite. We're doing brunch there this time for the first time, so I'm really excited about that too. Lumiere's is yummy, very similar to triton's on the Wonder.

I would love to book a spa treatment, I'm also going to wait and see what's available onboard. :goodvibes

We are staying there the night AFTER the cruise. I thought I saw someone else staying there pre-cruise, but perhaps that was on another thread. It looks very convenient and got good reviews on Trip Advisor.

How is everyone today? I am pretty much finished with what I had planned to add to the website. If there is anything else you guys want, let me know. Also, if you haven't posted your info or a picture and would like to, just PM me.
Here is the website: http://may5med.weebly.com/

As to where we meet on Thursday at 2, I have never been on the boat before, so if anyone has any suggestions, that would be great.
I have a quick question, where do you get the magnetic paper for door magnets? I didn't see any at Walmart.

lol
We're leaving for Salou (outside Barcelona) on the 2nd. I'll probably pack that morning! :rotfl:

I know - realistically, i'll be packing the day we're leaving since our flight's at night. but it's a good excuse to drag my suitcases up from our flooded basement.

Depending on where you live, they have the paper at Michael's or AC Moore or probably Staples/Office Depot/Office Max stores. Sorry if I'm only naming East Coast stores.

The website looks fantastic! I think (and I'm not sure) that a lot of DISers do their cruise meet in the Promenade lounge. It's an open space that can fit a lot of people and easy to find. However, since it's a sea day there's a chance they may have something going on in there already, like Bingo. So we could always pick one area and then a back up location if it's occupied.

Just over a month away! So exciting :goodvibes

Love the website! Thanks again for your hard work.

Can you believe its April???? Wow. It seems that I've been planning this for so long and now it is almost here!

Kayleigh, Thank you for the website. It is wonderful.:thumbsup2

I am looking forward to the wine tastings, and martini tastings, and cooking lessons, and movie nightspopcorn::, and fireworks, just to name a few.

I just finished loading all my books into my netbook. I like the fact that I can stick it into my purse easily and carry it around. Speaking of purses, I bought a new leather purse at WDW that has Disney characters on a white background. I am taking only one day purse and am unsure whether it would be good for this cruise or if I should use it only at WDW and DL. I worry that it would be ok on the ship but inappropriate on shore excursions. Any thoughts?
