May 5, 2010 Magic of Barcelona

Hahaha - stone ages. I'll be lugging around DVDs and a portable player. That's a good idea about ipods but can't quite justify getting ipod's for 3 kids just yet, especially when they're begging for Nintendo DS's :upsidedow

Laydee, I never thought I'd buy a 4 year old an iPod...but it has been one of the best things ever for travel. I still shake my head at it a bit. I mean, I JUST got one for myself not that long ago.

Of course, my good friend just got the iPad and has now christened it the "iAwesome" and makes me really want one of those. I think I'm turning into a tech-junkie!

Wow sabrecmc you are so organised to be packed already!

My DD has got a DS she is 4 now and has has it for 2 years, it has been the best value for money ever, she loves it!

We were in Florida last week and brought a couple of Ipads. We have brought them back to sell as we can't get them here in the UK yet but DS is nagging us like mad because he wants one!

No, I don't blame you. It totally makes sense for movies and such. It would just add up for 3 kids and they couldn't possibly share one.

Ok, my kids can't find out that your DD has one already. :rolleyes1 Every year, I tell them they can possible have one next year.

My lips are sealed, I promise I won't say a word. My DD only plays on it when she is bored so although I will be taking it, I doubt she will be playing on it much.

DS's will come in quite handy on the round trip to Rome! Paperback books will be brought along too.....we don't have a kindle yet.

Thanks for that link, Tracey. I posted it on the site, along with links to some other blogs that are going on currently from the Magic. One (Heather's blog) is really good, and she updates it daily. I also put the ship tracking link. All of this is on the link page. Here is the link http://may5med.weebly.com/links.html

It is so surreal that we will be on the boat in 3 weeks!

your site keeps getting better! Looks wonderful and I love all the links in one place. Thanks so much for putting it together :thumbsup2

I agree. I just paid a visit and it's a cracking site! Very helpful indeed! Thanks so much for all your hard work and effort! :thumbsup2

Thanks guys! I needed a little cheer up. :) If you can think of anything else I can add, let me know!

My kids are 4 and almost 7 and we only have 1 ipod (classic). They don't have (luckily) no iterest yet in a DS. Both are still happy with their v smile pocket.

yep, starting to load up the ipod.
DH is anti-apple but has admitted that the ipod (i won one) has turned out to be a handy gadget.

we hook it up to to the tv-screens in the car, so the kids can watch and I can easily control it from the passenger seat.

we used to have a dvd-player, but the cables were too short, so it was under the passenger seat, try to control it and depend on your kids (who can't read) to tell you which item to choose from the menu.
Besides I hate DVD's where you can't skip the intro's, FBI-warning's, trailers etc.:headache:

WE only have one, but it's been great for family use. Now I'm trying to convince DH that i NEED and iphone:rotfl:

Euros exchange

Per the front desk, 100 euros will cost you $140.03 onboard.

Saw this on the May 15 board. Not a bad rate, I suppose. Might change for us, but gives you an idea.

your cc will probably give you a better rate, but it's not too bad.
XE says 1.35 at the moment

Anybody else started packing but completely forgot what they've packed? My suitcase is about 75% full but the diapers, snacks and FE's are on top of my clothes. So I have no idea what I've packed for myself. Should I get completely OCD and create a spreadsheet of my suitcase inventory?:laundy:

You mean you don't do this already???? :lmao:

I don't think I could pack without my packing list...

See this is why I don't do my packing until the last minute. No time to forget what I have packed and no time to add more, even though I might not need it! DH would have packed by now if he had his way though but I don't like being so organised :rolleyes1

My DH is completely the opposite. He won't pack until the shuttle bus is at our front door. So if you see a guy wandering around the ship in just swimshorts and white undershirt the whole time, that's my hubby and I've left no room in the suitcase for him.:scared1:

My DH sorts his stuff out and hides it all in the back of the wardrobe so I can't see that he has sorted it out so early, stupid man doesn't think I look in the wardrobe :lmao:
