In my first installment I realized I had left out a key event. Our 2nd official Dis-meet was scheduled right after the safety drill at the promenade lounge. So immediately after drill we drop off the jackets and head there. I finally meet the infamous Rae. Who did such a great job running our cruise thread and getting everyone to participate. So we meet, Rae and family, Jen and Dave of Passporter fame, the Barnards in their nifty t-shirts briefly, Auntie Bon and Jeanne, along with the other families we had met at the Radisson. The group is really going strong and everyone is very excited for the wine tasting on Monday in the "Walt Suite". So that officially concludes our first day.
Day 2- Sunday Sea day. We originally chose the Eastern itinerary specifically because there was one more sea day than the Western. Sea days are the best! Here is where we first realized that we were not going to be able to enjoy the pools as a family, the goofy pool was too deep for my DS (7) and he refused to wear floaties, the mickey pool was way too small for DD (10). Not to mention the crowds and kids jumping all over the place. This was really my only dissapointment, my visions of us watching the kids swim while DH and I sat and had a tropical drink were not to be. We usually had to split up one at each pool. I expected the crowds, I mean it's a sea day where's everyone going to go? But it did get hectic. We did lunch usually at Plutos, hit the arcade, DD went back and forth to club activities, DH attended some ESPN talks. DH and I checked out Deck 7 and the Deck 4 padded chairs, loved those! The two sea days were spent pretty much the same, with the exception being the Wine tasting Dis Meet. This was a lot of fun. We met about 1:30 Monday. I believe almost everyone from our thread was there. We met Emmak, Macaroni, Three Circles, flysuperhawk, and if there were more sorry if I can't remember. We were all relieved to hear little Mak was feeling well and everyone was having a great cruise. The suite was lovely and the Barnards were very gracious hosts. Jeanne was so nice to make all the kids Micky wishing stones. It was a great crowd of people and it was amazing how this group of complete strangers could come together and have such a nice time. We had a picture of our "honorary cruiser" Andy. We had a toast for you too!
Sunday and Monday early dinner was at Animators and Parrot Cay, we didn't make it to any shows, the 8:30 time just didn't work for us. We did go to dueling pianos on Monday night after hearing from Savs and Pam how funny those two guys were. We loved it. This is my type of entertainment, I love comedy shows and this was just like that.
