May 30, 2009 - Western Cruise Magic

I wonder if we will see more rooms opened up next week, since the May 23rd opened up today??? Shall be interesting to watch!

Kayla

Our cruise is showing Cat. 4,5,6,7, and 8 availability only.

Interesting. Yesterday it showed 9 and 10 also. I did an online booking engine and it shows 8 (the max ever shown) in each category. Of course, it is possible that they have grossly oversold the 12s and just haven't put pegs into holes yet...in any event, we know there are cabins left. If they come out with FL res rates next week, we'll know there are a bunch.

I also did a DCL search and my favorite cabins are still open.....hmmm....

Yeah, I thought it was odd that there were 9's yesterday and not today. (yes, I check everyday :rotfl: )

They released the Florida Resident rates for this cruise today. So there are a lot of availability. hmmm... how can I talk my husband into upgrading to a balcony.... :rolleyes1

So.... maybe they'll fill this cruise up after all and we won't be getting the awesome free upgrades? OHwell. What do we have- about 6wks before they start assigning rooms? something like that?

We're not FL residents- so we can't get a deal on an upgrade. We'll see what rooms we end up assigned!

You are so lucky! Wish I could live in FL and get these rates!!!!!

Well, they're going to have to give a lot of us at least "minimal" upgrades. They've sold a LOT more cat 12s than exist on the ship. There's no way that I know of to track what has been sold, but just the discussion here implies that a lot of us got great rates.

Yes, we should look for cabin assignments at the end of April.

Hi Everyone

My name is Donna and after the FL resident rates were announced yesterday, I casually mentioned them to my DH and he said "Let's DO It!" Now this was a little surprising as we have a WL 7 day package already booked for early May. We will lose $200 canceling the package, but the FL resident rate on Cat. 6 was just too good to be true for us.

I've started reading this thread from the beginning, but 37 pages is alot to get through. Have I missed anything important that someone can send me a shout out, until I get to reading it in past posts?

One thing that I have noticed reading some of the early pages, is that most of you have young teens going. Has anyone posted with young children? My twin boys will be 5 in early May. Our last cruise was when they were 15 mos. old. We promised ourselves then, that we would do it again for their 5th birthday. Even though I have been super psyched over my WL trip, a part of me was feeling bad that we didn't keep our DCL promise......AND THEN the FL resident rates came out! Yippee!

I haven't heard back from my TA yet, but as soon as it is official, I will let you know. Could someone update me on what I've missed on this board....:flower3:

Welcome to our little meet thread.

I am definately jealous about the FL rates. I need to move back there.

Important stuff --HAVE FUN

Non-important stuff

We are doing a FE gift exchange if you want to participate.
I have a list of everyone on this board on our cruise with most names, ages, excursions, etc.
If you want your information added, please let me know and PM me an email address so I can send it to you. You do not have to be in the FE to get the list.
We are voting on a name (see page 1).
There are 2 other children on my list that is age 5 and a couple that are close (by Disboard name):
MRS RMM - DD - 4
Jennymouse - DGD - 5
Bama4Disney - DS - 5
jpoeling - DD - 6
loveysbydesign - DD - 6.5

I'm sure ohter will fill in all the gaps.

OK (true confessions)...I'm cruising March 28. If anyone needs anything (other than stowing away in my luggage), let me know and I'll try to find out, do it, or whatever.

No, we don't normally do this many cruises this close together...but DD has really managed to manipulate me this winter/spring. Ah well....

Hi!
Just curious- why do you lose $200 on the WL package? What kind of pkg is it? I didn't know that packages at the resorts had a penalty time period like the cruises do. I thought you had up until 48hrs before you arrived to cancel? Just curious. I imagine the savings for the cruise must be pretty great to also pay that penalty! But glad you're coming.... or let us know if you are! :)

Wow so you're cruising soon! Did you get cat 12 gty and if so, did you get your room assignment yet? I'm being nosey. LOL

Are you set on not accepting stowaways. :thumbsup2

If you happen to stop by the adult pool bar, can you see if Ernan (a drink server) is going to be on our cruise? :goodvibes

Let's see if any of these look good to anyone? I didn't do them in the best resolution.

March 28 cruise is just 2 of us....we have FL res rate with a balcony.

May 30 is bigger group, 2 cabins....we have cat 12 gty, no room assignment. I looked at FL res rates that came out yesterday. It would cost me $900 per cabin to upgrade us to a balcony. It would cost me $100 per cabin to "upgrade" to an 11--same price as we've currently paid but with the 11 I'd have to pay the $100 surcharge for over 12 year old. I may be stupid, but I'm going to wait and see what we get. I'd like to have at least one cat 9. However, reality is that these kids are my daughter's friends and I really don't know most of them well. I'm paying for this deal (DD's graduation gift) and I really don't see why I need to spend MORE money. If we end up being at opposite ends of the ship, I may see if I can upgrade one cabin and get near the other....but I'm really tempted to just stick with what we have. We won't see room assignments for the May 30 cruise till about Apr. 30.

OK, I printed out post and will check on server. Also will check who will be the CD on our cruise.

Bruce--I like the blue (ship colors) ones best.
