No problem, no worries! :goodvibes. We totally understand! We realize there's so much going on and the main thing is that all families have a MAGICal time on this trip and create WONDERful memories of their family vacation. :wizard: I'm sure all our kids will have lots of fun next week swimming, clubs, excursions, themed nights, etc. Looking forward to meeting you guys. See you soon!

Everything is already in the ziplocks...I'm going to have to eliminate some things. Darn me for being such a clothes horse. As my mother has reminded me, it's not actually necessary to have several changes of clothes for each day.... :smooth:

Okay here's the deal I'm willing to offer. If you might want a CD of the cruise featuring photos, and movies from my camera, and your own digital images (with my junk edited out upon request), bring one blank CD-R or CD-RW with you. During the last day on our way home, I'll set up a time to run a mass burning of CD's for any DIS-ers who are interested. I can only fit about 10 blanks in my laptop's bag along with all my other stuff in there or I'd bring along enough for everyone. (Yes this means I'm committing to bringing the laptop. I am willing to assist with downloads of others' cameras as well to other media storage.)
Rebecca, that sounds like a ton of work for you but I will definitely take you up on it and I'll bring a CD!

Thanks!!

528Cruiser,

Thanks so much for the weather forecast! Looks Great!:sunny:

As far as Hannah's birthday party goes, I'm afraid I can't give you a answer at this time. I'm sure Grace would love it and have a great time, but my husband is getting afraid of all these commitments I'm making on the boards for our "family" vacation. Can I let you know after we've been on the boat for a couple of days? Please tell her "Happy Birthday" from Grace though! :flower:  princess: :cake:

Hi Margaret - I hear you on all the commitments. I think that most things will end up "Play it by Ear" given none of us know what Disney has planned yet. I'm sure many of the commitments will not take place at least when we think they will.

Joy - we will definitely go to Hannah's birthday party as I think it will be so special to have a little party on the ship. You know kids, she will be happy if it is just Kelly (my little one), Emily (Chris's), & Hannah & Vanessa. That is 4 girls and she will love it!! If more can make it, great, but I think you should plan something for Hannah; you only turn 5 once!! :wizard: (she is 5 right??)

OK now this is serious. What do you mean restrictive? We have packed one suitcase specifically for alcohol with 2 champagne’s, 3 wines and one Kettle One vodka. If there is any enforcement of adult beverages limits, I guess the party will start early in the port parking lot. I've never spilled any alcohol in vain, and am not about to start.

wow, party!! :rotfl2: :cheer2:

Well this is probably my last post. We are heading out really early tomorrow morning. :flower: We are looking forward to meeting everyone at Scoops on Saturday. This board has been great...all the info and wonderful people. I sure hope we have everything. The suitcases are going in the car tonight for our short trip to the airport. Everyone have a good couple of days and we will see you soon.

Jodi, Mike and Madison  :wave2:

Disneyland here we come!!!! :cheer2:

:cheer2: :grouphug: :thewave: I'm getting teary just thinking about all of us converging to the Magic! I mirror Jodi's comments about the boards. Thank you everyone for all the great tips, friendship and advice! I cannot believe everything I've learned from these boards! I definitely feel more prepared to take our first Disney Cruise from all I've read on these boards. (Our travel agent didn't do much except take our money and receive the docs!:rotfl: )
Everyone have a safe and pleasant journey!
:goodvibes :sunny: ::MickeyMo :banana:

P.S. I'm definitely going to go thru smilie withdrawal after the cruise!

Is your laptop Windows XP? I am bringing my I/O Magic (good name, huh) for downloads, but I have no preview capabilities with it. This device takes any type of media card and holds 20GB. I use it for traveling because it is so much smaller than a laptop, just slightly larger than a paperback book.

Anyway, if your laptop is Windows XP, I can hook up to it with no installation of software and get slide shows of our pictures. You can select what you want off of it then and I can copy your pictures to it.

Yes my laptop's operating system is XP. Plus I'll have the portable disc downloader thingy that I use with my memory cards.

I'm signing off w/Jodi!
We are on the 6 am flight out of town in the morning (yikes...who thought up that one?), but will be in DL by lunchtime!

As others have said, thank you, thank you, thank you for all the info, friendships and laughs on this board! I feel like we already all know eachother so the Scoops "meeting" will be just a family reunion! I'm already getting sad about how much I'm going to miss all of you!

Again...thank you and safe travels to everyone....see you in a couple days...play nice while I'm gone!

Chris

Bye Chris and Jodi, Have a great time at DL!!! I am so looking forward to meeting you both on the boat. See you at the pool at 2:00! You can't miss us, we are both very tall. I am 5'11-1/2 and very blonde and Mark is 6'3 and very thin and brunette.

See everyone soon!!
:cloud9:

Goodbye guys. Sorry I missed your sign off. My last kid of the day just left. I have been busy using the kitchen table to hot glue sequins onto the dress that my grandma finished for me today. Boy, she needs a cruise after that dress. Ha ha. I truely cannot wait to meet you all in just a few days! This is so exciting it's almost surreal. I honestly cannot believe that it is going to be this Saturday. Steve (DH) arrives tomorrow night about this time. Yay! So, that will be another late night, seeing as how we live an hour away from the airport, and he is DYING to stop by one of his favorite burrito huts on the way home. The other burrito hut we'll hit on the way to LA. Can you believe it? They don't really have any mexican food in GEORGIA (go figure). Talk to the remaining few of yall tomorrow. :wizard:

We are outta here tomorrow am! :cool1:  :cheer2:

Can't believe our vacation is finally here. :earsboy: This ones been in planning stages for couple years. :teeth:

Said 'hast la vista' to my ceo today and ran for the door.

Jen and I are doing some final late night packing, watering the plants and paying the bills (with whatever money we have left) :rotfl:

Off to GCH and DL tomorrow on the 8:45am. Be in the park around noon. :flower:

Will be great to see :bitelip: those of you who are in the DL at Whitewater Snacks on Friday afterrnoon.

Rest of you I will see a the Scoops! :earseek:

Are we having fun now...

well allmost...if I can close this last suitcase. :earboy2:

Brandy, I haven't run into many people from Shreveport either. My dad also grew up there. How old is your dad? My dad was born in 1941. If they're close in age, they may have known each other. I have several cousins that grew up in Shreveport but they are all older than I and I'm 38. So, I'm guessing you wouldn't know them.

Margaret, we went back to New Orleans last summer for Mark's 20 year high school reunion. We had a great time. But, I wish they didn't hold these reunions in the summer. I really can't take the humidity. I thought I would pass out. My girlfriends and I are going in October for our annual girlfriend weekend. They've never been so I'm excited to show them around.

Joy, Mattie would love to go to Hannah's party on Monday. She told me that she thinks that's going to be her favorite event on the whole trip. She loves parties.

To all of those who are traveling tomorrow. Have a safe trip. See you soon.

Thanks everyone for the birthday wishes and party suggestions for Hannah. It looks like we will have at least 5 girls for this get together. We're looking forward to it. princess:

Finally making some good progress with packing. Making a list and checking it twice......well, Santa is not coming, but we will see Mickey ::MickeyMo in a couple of days.

Sue, you can't miss us either. We're the short ones with dark hair wearing lime green.

Carrie, I hope Mattie is feeling better.

Safe travels to everyone and enjoy your time at Disneyland. Tell us about the new parade and everything else new for the 50th celebration. We plan on going there later this summer. Save your appetite for the ship where the food will be coming out of our ears, nose, eyes, etc. :earseek:

:sunny: Hot Tip #18 - PORTS OF CALL TIP - Stop off in a local grocery store and save money on bottled water or other beverages you might want to enjoy once back on ship. (That’s better than using half our luggage to bring it all at once!) Tomorrow’s hot tip wont be anything too hot. So those of you who have already left home by then wont miss anything cool...I mean hot. Whatever.

I'm actually going to be sad when the cruise starts, because that means it's the begining of the end. And being pesimistic is very unlike me. :confused3 But, I'm sure we will have the time of our lives on this cruise! And how special to have alreday made friends :grouphug: , were getting more out of our vacation that we paid for. :goodvibes TIME IS RUNNING OUT TILL THE BIG DAY!! :hourglass

Wow, I have gotten so behind on everything. Things have been pretty crazy here since the beginning of April. I just wanted to check in before we leave for Disneyland. (In a few hours   ). Hope everyone has a safe trip to the ship. See you Saturday at scoops. :mickeybar

Just a question, how mych cash are you guys planning on keeping with you. I go shopping in Tijuana, MX all the time, so I can't imagine that there would be too much that I woud NEEEEED in any of the ports. I would like most of the money I've saved to stay in my KTTW account. But I know we'll need money to tip the room service people. And I think we can tip everyone else w/ your KTTW account. So I guess, just room service tip money and "in case" Mexico money. Hmmmm.

Brandy, other than room service and money to be used in the ports, the only other thing I can think of where you need cash is tipping the porters if they help you with your luggage when you arrive at the port and when you disembark.

Brandy - if you have tours scheduled through DCL, you probably won't need that much cash, since everything is already paid for. I would probably keep $50 to $100 just in case there was something special you wanted. BTW have fun with DH tonight! ;) We are looking forward to meeting him.

We still have not seen the new Star Wars movie. It doesn't look like we'll be able to get to it before we leave. Oh well, it will be fun to see it when we get back.

Blake has done an incredible job of formatting our Lime Green Navigators. They look beautiful. :flower: I will get those copied and bring them to our Scoops meet. :mickeybar

At this point, I guess I need to start packing. I had a nightmare last night that we were on the ship and all I had was an empty suitcase inside an empty suitcase, inside an empty suitcase!
