Hi Moley, I'm so glad everything went well with Bob. That is great that you could keep him smiling with stories about us posters. Love the picture of you in the hat!! So your hat had martini glasses, right? I couldn't tell what else was on it??

Sue, I loved the hat, too, but did you happen to read down further? If not, I'll copy my favorite part here....

"Tapped Gas
Bingo started at 4:45 and my reflexology appointment was 4. I told Zeus to get us a jumbo pack and I would be along. I showered and dressed for dinner since I would not have to remove any clothing at the spa for this feet only treatment. When my therapist, tiny Annie, came into the treatment room, she said she would be looking into my vital organs through my feet. Fine by me, as long as that includes a nice foot massage. I then relaxed on the massage table and my first reflexology commenced. It was not so much massage as it was tapping across my foot from side to side. It still felt good. About two thirds of the way through my 50 minutes, I felt this awful urge to pass gas. This wasn't an ordinary little old lady poot either. This was one where I had to clench every orifice in my body and most of my enlarged pores in order not to make the treatment room and the miniature therapist Brown Zero. It was uncomfortable to say the least. When the tapping dance was over, Annie said to sit up and take some water and she would come back in and report on my vital organs.

Her report began with the fact I had inflamed blood. This was probably due to dehydration. Not that mass quantities of alcohol, caffeine and salty foods would have anything to do with that. She also said I was having some upper respiratory sinus difficulty. That was true. Then she said I had some lower gastro-intestinal toxins which she was working out of my system. "You might have the urge to go to the bahthroom," she said in her quiet Brit accent. I gave her the look Albert Brooks gave Julie Hagerty in Lost in America when Julie confessed to losing their life savings in Vegas. Lady, why did you do that?! You were tapping into the largest natural gas reserve east of Texas! I thanked her for my organ recital and then I headed out for Bingo. I badly needed the Drink of the Day to take my blood inflammation to an all time high. The flushing of the toxins would have to wait. "

Moley, I love you already and am SO glad you will be on the trip! I almost wet myself laughing. :rotfl: :rotfl2:  :rotfl: :rotfl2:

Grammiegail - I went to the gym again today but boy am I hungry today. I think we are going for Sushi tonight (Kelly loves it - no raw stuff). Getting my hair done after that - gotta get rid of this gray before I meet all of you!!! :rotfl:

Sue, don't get rid of the gray! We have earned every single one of them and they come in really handy when you need to "guilt-trip" the younguns!

As Dance Captain here is my list so far

The Dancin' Fools:

Jedisan
Carrie
Poconoboatniks
WCCruiser

Any one else game?
What are some of your favorite songs to dance to?

I like: "Shake your body to the Ground" by the Jacksons
anything by K.C. and the Sunshine Band
"Rock your Body" by Justin Timberlake (new favorite)

But I love it all...rock,disco, hiphop,R & B,funk!!! :cheer2:  :dancer:

Challada-

Here's best wishes to Emily on her dance recital!!:wizard: princess: :cheer2:

One of Grace's friends just had hers, and they actually had a "bun" rehearsal before the recital!:rotfl2:

Margaret- Get enough "drink of the day" into me and I can become a dancin-fool! LOL

Now, folks, as mom can attest...I really should not be in charge of any alcoholic event (even the wine) since I don't drink AT ALL here at home...I might make up for my last 10 dry years on this cruise alone!

Margaret- Not only do we have "bun" rehearsal...we get the dress rehearsal where we get inspected for the "no undies", "blue eyeshadow", "elastic taps", and proper hair placement! Now, the dance school has about 100 girls in the combo classes (pre ballet/pre tap) and she inspects each kid!

Chris,

Wow, between the dancing and baseball and all the other activities you've mentioned throughout this time, you are definitely due for this vacation!! If anything, just to not have to drive for a week!

Summer is looming upon us and Grace is interested in:
Karate
Soccer
Tennis
Swimming
Ceramics
Ballet
Art/Music/Theater School
Not to mention she wants to keep doing gymnastics! It is so hard to choose! I wish we could do them all, but we haven't won the lottery and I don't want to over schedule her! Oh, and her dad wants to start her on piano lessons!
When I was a kid, summers were spent playing outside in the wide open spaces of Texas with my brothers and sisters flying kites, shooting off bottle rockets, riding our bikes, exploring, etc. There were 5 of us and my Mom didn't have to drive anywhere!:rotfl:

I'll attest! The only time I've seen her have more than a half a glass of wine was the night before her wedding. That night, we polished off a bottle of wine. The next morning.....let's just say that cucumbers were needed for the eyes (well, mine, too!) But, when you thing about it, it's probably better to have a sober person planning things. That way the rest of us can just sit back and enjoy the ride/cruise/whatever. Sorry, DD, I think it's "Tag, you're it!"

I've been meaning to post that I DEFINITELY want to come to dance night! mark isn't a dancer and doesn't enjoy "dance type music." He would go if we had a babysitter but I would much rather go dancing with all the girls instead. Girls always love dancing!!

Some of my favorite dance tunes:
Brick House - Commodores
We are Family - Sister Sledge
Crazy in Love - Beyonce
Lady Marmalade - Pink, Christina, Mya, Lit'l Kim
Just about all 70's Disco stuff!!

Oh, did I mention that I'm not a good dancer though :rotfl: Certainly DOES not stop me but I just want to give the disclaimer now :flower:

Regarding reaching each other on board. Maybe each of us who are responsible for a get together can make a list of names and get their stateroom #'s before we leave (those who know theirs already) and then be responsible for calling each person to reconfirm and give location (arrange for appetizers, etc.). This should only apply to the small get togethers like the Wino, Bubblehead, Dance Party. Sandy, I think everyone is clear on your first night party (those who have early seating that is - late seating will probably be eating dinner during the party unfortunately) and that is a big group and would probably be too hard to call everyone.

I'll go back and look and see who all the Bubbleheads are and try to get stateroom numbers on PM (for those who don't want to give it out on the board).

Chris - I'm actually with you on not drinking at home. I do drink when I have dinner out with friends or at a party but not when we are home with the kids (especially with Ava being so little). So the cruise will be something new. I'm sure I won't be drinking during the day much, but I'm definitely up for the Wino, bubblehead and dance parties (and Sandy's first night party if we can get moved to early seating).

Go Emily!! Kelly will actually miss her dance recital while we are on the cruise!

Sue,,,Don't worry, as long as you have enthusiasm that's all that matters! Well, unless you dance like Elaine (on Seinfeld)! Then we may need to talk!:rotfl:

Margaret-
I hear you on the activities...I think Grace and Emily will be peas in a pod! Emi wants to do every "summer camp" that comes around while my Alex would be happy to lounge about all summer long! I grew up in Texas playing outside all summer too!
We've limited summer to:
Minihawks (sports camp) for Emily
Robotics camp for Alex
Piano (goes all year)
Football (season starts in Aug) for Alex
Gymnastics for Emily (she's at "pre-team" level so has to go all year)

Things that got nixed this year: Girl Scout camp, Boy Scout camp, YMCA overnight (real) camp, cheerleading camp, ballet camp, music camp, drama camp, moviemaking camp.

During the school year, I try to limit the kids to 1 sport, 1 social, 1 music activity each (but this has yet to work)... in the fall we will have:
Boy Scouts (last year! YEA...I've been leader for 5 years)
Girl Scouts (first year...drats...I'm planning on leading too)
Football (we serve on the board) (alex)
Soccer (Emily)
Piano (both)
Gymnastics (Emily)
We are eliminating: dance class and violin from our schedule! YEA!
It's really tough these days to find the balance of keeping your kids involved and not overscheduling their time. I have friends w/4 kids who all do as much or more than my kids and I have no idea how they get everywhere!

Anyway, yes, I want to cruise just to not be "taxi" for a week!!!

Hey with all these girls drinking and dancing I think we should have a Marti Gras night I have a whole box of beads :)
The Man

John...I'm not doing what needs to be done to earn the beads....LOL...but bring them for the pirate party would be fun!

Hey,

Check out the forum thread. Someone is already posting pictures from the Magic today. Verandah Man posted a picture of the Magic at the Port.

OMG, I can't stand the excitment. :jumping1: :jumping1: :hyper: :hyper: :dancer: :dancer: :rockband: :rockband: :jumping2:

Now I have to go back and read what I missed over the past 2 days.

Hi guys - thought you might be interested in this great article about the Magic's sailing on 5/28. Sounds like they have quite an event planned. I'm very excited because we've been planning for months to be there that day. :cool1:

PUT ME DOWN FOR DANCING!! :rockband: :dancer: :rockband:
And my friend Jennifer too! Get a few :drinking1 in her and that child could school James Brown! While she's always up for a party, her most entertaining moments come under the influence. And I am looking forward to that! Muah ha ha haaaa.

The Man

:jester: The Man, that sounds great! :jester:

Since gravity has taken control of my body, I will have to make some modifications to my "earning beads" technique....like lifting my skirt. :rolleyes1

For all the others of you out there who have had "odd things happen to your bodies", I have the answer......

THIS IS NOT A HOAX!

This is a heads up to those friends who haven't experienced it yet, and an explanation to those friends and family who have.

Most of you have read the scare-mail about the person whose kidneys were stolen while he was passed out. Well, read on. While the kidney story was an urban legend, this one is not. It's happening every day.

My thighs were stolen from me during the night of August 3rd a few years ago. It was just that quick. I went to sleep in my body and woke up with someone else's thighs. The new ones had the texture of cooked oatmeal. Who would have done such a cruel thing to legs that had been mine for years? Whose thighs were these and what happened to mine?

I spent the entire summer looking for my thighs. Finally, hurt and angry, I resigned myself to living out my life in jeans and Sheer Energy pantyhose.

Then, just when my guard was down, the thieves struck again. My butt was next. I knew it was the same gang, because they took pains to match my new rear end (although badly attached at least three inches lower than my original) to the thighs they stuck me with earlier. Now, my rear complimented my legs, lump for lump. Frantic, I prayed that long skirts would stay in fashion.

It was two years ago when I realized my arms had been switched. One morning I was fixing my hair and I watched horrified but fascinated as the flesh of my upper arms swung to and fro with the motion of the hairbrush.

This was really getting scary. My body was being replaced one section at a time. How clever and how fiendish.

Age? Age had nothing to do with it. Age is supposed to creep up, unnoticed, something like maturity. NO, I was being attacked repeatedly and without warning.

In despair, I gave up my T-shirts. What could they do to me next?

My eyes began to remind people that they needed to buy a new pair of Hush Puppies. My poor neck disappeared more quickly than the Thanksgiving turkey it now resembled.

That's why I decided to tell my story. I can't take on the medical profession by myself. Women of America, wake up and smell the coffee.

That really isn't plastic that those surgeons are using. You KNOW where they are getting those replacement parts, don't you? The next time you suspect someone has had a face "lifted", look again. Was it lifted from you?

I think I finally found my thighs ... and I hope that Cindy Crawford paid a really good price for them!

This is not a hoax. This is happening to women in every town every night.

WARN YOUR FRIENDS.

P.S. I must say that last year I thought someone had stolen my breasts. I was lying in bed and they were gone! As I jumped out of bed I was relieved to see that they were just hiding in my pajama bottoms. Now I keep them hidden in my waistband.

Grumpy, Thanks for the CC article. I can't stand the excitment. :jumping1: :jumping1: You guys have to read this article.

Grammie, you and I will be in puddles with all this hoopla and the Magic whistle.

Moley, I almost fell off my chair. DH had to find out what was so funny. :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: Glad to hear that you guys will be making the trip with us. I will be joining you on several days for Bingo. I love QUE! YEAH BABY does not annoy me. The last day of Bingo will be quite loud with this group.

I missed the posts about the breakfast at the Sheraton? We're at the Sheraton and hoping to see the Magic come into port. I got a pm from Winogirl who is on the Aug Repo cruise and is going to at the port to welcome the Magic. She asked if those of us going out to welcome the Magic and her repo group could get together. I don't know anything about the Port and its surrounding area. Is this possible? I read somewhere that the pier is gated.

We're bringing postcards too. I may put the kids picture and cabin numer on the back so that they can call each other ( no charge for calls between cabins and there is an answering machine function on the phone).

Poconoboatniks

GrammieGail, you are too funny!! :rotfl:

Grumpy Mom, thank you so much for posting that link on the main discussion board and on this thread.

That celebration and sail away part will be like no other. I am so excited about the fireworks as we enter the breakwater. :earsboy:
