OK, I know that it's Alien Green and it's the Mickey paint samples from Home Depot, but what am I supposed to do with them? Are we supposed to make name tags for our door???? I'm so confused!!!! :confused3

I'm new too...but from what I've gathered (and someone please correct me if I'm wrong): There are 3 things: :grouphug: 1)Identifing fellow Dis'ers-The lime green Mickey heads from Home Depot are to put in your lanyard (the necklace thing that can hold your Key to The World card). 2) Door signs (for fun)-I guess they can also be used to decorate your door on a sign or I found a link of someone who had scanned her Mickey head, so you could use that along with other clipart and font or whatever to make your door sign. 3) Door Tag-Someone (sorry, forgot who) has generously already made a "door tag" for us to play door tag with (still not real clear on the rules of the game).:cheer2: :flower:

Grammmie-
I got your green covered!

WC-
I made the doortag sign...I don't know the "rules" but I'm sticking it on someone else's door and letting it go from there! :boat:

Door tag
The concept for the western repo cruise is we will all have a list of Disboard members cabin numbers, Disboard name signs on the cabin doors, and when we find the "tag" on our door, we have to put it on another Disboard member's door. From western repo thread:

Karaeric = TAG GAME.: If you would like to play, please PM Kara your stateroom # and names. If you don't yet have a cabin #, send it as soon as you get it.we will have one (or two) Mickey shaped door magnets that will get passed around the ship. Each person who receives the magnet will sign it, then go "tag" another participant's cabin door! It's a lot of fun. I'm hoping we can get the Mickey to go around to everyone more than once since we have 14 days!

Hope this helps. Alex :flower: :flower:

As usual, Alex, clear as a bell.::yes:: Love those details!

Challada.....thanks for making the door tag! :thewave:

and G.G.G....belated thanks for composing the list!

Oh! I like the sign it idea! I was going to attach to the tag that I made (which is a LARGE mickey head...page size) a bunch of the different colored paintchip mickey heads so that when you are "tagged", one of the colored ones stays on your door saying "I got tagged" and others know to go tag someone else.

That's a great idea leaving mickey heads on the door when you've been tagged. Might be able to play the game several times by collecting the mickey heads and restarting the tagging. Alex

Hi, I've been lurking for some time and have decided to introduce myself. I'm Rose, and will be traveling with my sister, Janet, and our friend, Sue. Janet and I have cruised :cool1: before but this will be Sue's first time. I've got my Alien green mickey heads and am trying to figure out what to do with them :teeth: We're in a navigator's veranda cabin and are looking forward to cruising after a few days at DL.

Grammie,

I love your countdown lbs. counter.

Pocnoboatniks

Thanks! It helps to keep me honest. :rolleyes1 I had lost a bunch of weight on WW a couple of years ago. :cheer2: Then, I had surgery last year and it was a perfect excuse to sit around too much and eat too much. The cruise has finally got me off my butt and back on plan. :jumping2: If anyone else is interested in getting help staying honest, there are challenges - April for minutes exercised for the month and Summer for number of pounds lost. Here are the links if you are interested, April Challenge - http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=774902 and Summer Challenge - http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=766340 . In each one, state your intentions and then log back in weekly to "fess" up on your progress. I already recognize one other from our cruise in the challenges.

Welcome Rose!

GrammieGail, I love the counter. Keep up the great work.

Challada - Great idea for the door tag!

We are all getting really excited. Hard to believe we can actually say the cruise is next month. Katie asks me almost daily, "So, is the cruise this Saturday Mommy?" Obviously, we are still working on the whole concept of time. Can't wait until I can tell her that this IS the Saturday we are leaving :cheer2:

My Girl Scout leader and I were trained in Camping this weekend. Fortunately, it was a beautiful Southern California weekend. I learned how to make an oven out of cardboard box! I don't think that will be necessary on the cruise ;) , but it sure was a lot of fun!

Welcome, Socks68. We're glad you decided to de-lurk.

Are any of you planning on bringing a collapsible soft-sided cooler onboard? It sounds like you can do it at Cape Canaveral. We are considering doing it but I'm not sure if the rules will be different in San Pedro. I don't want to end up with a cooler that we're not allowed to bring aboard.

We are looking for the same kind of advice. We just bought a soft-sided collapsible cooler on a rolling cart at CostCo this weekend. It's not huge, but big for packing. I'd hate to lug it along and find out it is verboten.

I believe that the coolers are still OK, regardless of port...it is a Disney policy that you can bring them on-board, so I can't see them NOT allowing all of us in port w/them just because it's a different port. I think other cruise lines don't allow it, but Disney always has so I would think they still would. If anyone knows "official" policy, please post (ie, ALEX would know BEST).
Thanks grammie for picking one up at Costco...was planning on running there today and checking what they had!

We bought the Disney one earlier this year and are planning in bringing it with our Mike's Hard Lemonade and beer. So hopefully they will allow the coolers.

Today I preordered my refills for the Passporter, which they hope to mail around May 9th.

I bought my cooler at Costco last week too. Actually, I bought it for my mom. She wants to bring her own wine onboard. DH is planning to put a couple beers in there too. Maybe I'll stick some Ginger Ale in, in case any of us get seasick.

I bet they will let us take them on. If not, we'll be parking at the port so if people need a place to leave their forbidden coolers, we can put them in our van. We'd just have to figure out a way to meet up. I'm hoping to get to the port by 11 am. I'm just not sure if I'll be able to get my mom up and moving by 9. :)

I have a small (six pack size) collapsable cooler, but hadn't thought to bring it. I am going to be bringing a couple bottles of champagne and a bottle of wine to drink in the room. I was planning on using wine packaging (such as styrofoam molds)and putting them in my check-on luggage so I wouldn't have to lug them until we get our room. Is there an ice-bucket in the room or room in the little fridge to keep the wine cold? If not, is that why people are bringing coolers?

Somewhere along there it's looking like this became the repositioning cruise's thread when it started as the premier West Coastie's thread...I'm just confused. Wanted to touch in with folks Imight actually get to meet, although y'all seem like a nice bunch! (I thought I set this to email me when new posts came in, but it isn't working out that way...silly me).
