May 27-DAK closing time of 11PM.

We use DAK as 3/4 day park, never needed a full day, so perhaps it is just us missing something but besides ROL (whenever that opens), what does DAK at Night really offer to make it worth staying until 11pm?
We too have always viewed AK as a RD to 4:00 p.m. park. It's a great day to go back to the resort, shower the Kali Rapids water out of our hair, change into nice clothes and go out for a nice dinner. But now, perhaps we will shift our day around and enter the park after lunch and stay until closing, or close to closing. Same number or hours, only shifted around. Instead of using the "empty" part of the day for a nice dinner, we can use the empty part of the day to sleep in from a long day at the MK. Or have a nice, leisurely breakfast which we never seem to do on vacation. I doubt that the extended hours will compel most people to stay from RD to closing. Instead, it is more likely to spread guests out throughout the day with some arriving at RD and leaving by dinner time, and others arriving at or after lunch and staying until well after dark. If this happens, it benefits us all as crowds will be spread out and lines will be shorter.

DAK at night is AWESOME! Probably the most beautiful park at night. We have always spent several days each trip, Everest in the dark is pure magic, and Dinoland is just plain fun all lit up. The paths are gorgeous, and lights show much detail you miss during the day. Can't wait!!!

Totally agree.

DAK after dark beats the other 3 Parks after dark.

Totally different "feel" when the sun goes down!:)

Agree with WDW trips consisting of 4-5 full park days, it is nice not to be on the RD to close pace everyday (and yes we often will RD to close MK and Epcot). Great to use DAK and DHS as 1/2 or 3/4 park days, allowing for later start in morning (use of mid morning FP+) or take late afternoon/dinner break from park for swim/meal, returning to DHS for example for evening. Currently with what is offered do not see great appeal in evening return to DAK, but I get how many would use park hoppers or avoid day heat to visit DAK in evening - just not our model of park plan.

I hear you. I am withholding judgment until I get some reports back from others. There has to be enough to do after normal closing hours to make me want to stay and right now I am up in the air. But I suspect that once Avatarland opens up, this will all be moot. I suspect that the entire area will be fully functioning as an evening option. Just hope I live long enough to see it through.
