Hey guys--I know we've all spent lots of time thinking about FE, post cards, laniards, but I don't remember anyone talking about what they're going to do on their doors. Has anyone started making the magnets for the doors? Is anyone going to be doing their doors?

I love the idea of decorating your stateroom door....
I have been collecting items for our door since January. Since my daughter will be graduating from college, I have bought "Congratulations" letters, a Purdue magnet, graduation caps, black and gold hanging stars, mickey "heads" from Home Depot paint dept (for balloons), different tropical theme cutouts and two magnets I ordered off of e-bay - DCL name tags and "Fantasy" cruise with the sail date and a list of the different ports. Also, strips of magnets to be used on the door ( for the items that are not magnets). I'm still thinking of printing out a Mickey ears for the stateroom door - I just can't decide which one I like.

Our daughter was accepted into the collage program. She will be checking in August 15. Now we have the best reason to go back to WDW later this year.
We will just have to go visit her

Congratulatins to your daughter!!! How exciting! What area will your daughter be working ? My daughter has a phone interview with Disney tomorrow afternoon. I'm keeping my fingers crossed and praying really hard!

Shesesewsall-we will have some of the graphics from the Disboards that were personalized for us. I have some magnets from our 2004 cruise, but I'm not sure if they say Magic or not! I'll have to check! I am also planning on making some ears for around the room number. I can't wait!

Dave and I have got LOTS of ideas from the threads on door magnets and decorations but haven't narrowed anything down yet--spent all our energy and time on the FE so far. Just curious if any of you have started and or had old magnets or pics of doors you've done in the past and wanted to share with us what you're doing. I know that I've read things about some magnets disappearing off doors, others that ended up with too many and shared on doors of other first timers that didn't know about the DISboards, etc. Read that the best way to keep from disappearing overnight is to personalize with names and such. Any one got any ideas they're working on? Would love to see (if you're not keeping such things as surprises for the family.

Yes we do the magnets on the door! A lot of them. I have a collection stored up that I choose from. Mickey heads with our names in them, name tags, various scenes and I can't believe that I have not ever taken a picture of my door on the previous cruises!!!
So far I have not had any taken or relocated. I figure if they were, then hopefully the one who takes will appreciate the work involved.

April 1st is quickly approaching--so if you're wanting to order laniards for the trip (you can see pictures of them early on in the posts), get in on the Roll Call, join the Fish Extender group, or join in the post card exchange, be sure to PM Verygfy, Magic3forme and, hmmmm there's one more, but I'm sure you can find everyone's names and info concerning these things within the first few pages of this thread. You will need to give them, names, ages (if children are accompanying you), cabin number(s) and email address. Just trying to give you a heads up before the April 1 deadline gets here and you inadvertantly miss out on something you'd wanted to join in on.

Strawberrysmomanddad, how exciting for you and especially your daughter!! That is awesome! Maybe we'll all have to take turns going to visit her to make her feel more at home! Just kidding. But I do think that's awesome!

She will be in recreation. Aug 15 is her check in date.
It was quite the shock to us to find out. When we first told her about the program she was not at all interested. We didn't even know she applied. She said that she did not tell anyone just in case she didn't get in. She interviewed on the 11th and found out she was accepted on the 22nd.

Less stressful for me for sure not knowing. Now I just get to deal with the excitement of it all. Had a hard time sleeping last night due to excitement for her.

I know our April 1st deadline is fast approaching and so far we are still barely under 40.
I just wanted to put my 2 cents out there and say that if we did go 40 or even a couple over, it would not bother me to keep it all as one and not do a split.
Since we knew it could go to 39 I have made all my plans on the higher number and added a few to it to make sure I had plenty.
As I said just my little bit of input, and I will go with whatever everyone wants.
58 days until we are in Florida!!!

We are completely fine with NOT splitting the FE list....we already have 95% of our FE gifts completed....so if we do split can we please be on both lists? Thanks!!!

Here is what our door looked like on our Bahama Cruise in 2010 (Pretty basic stuff then) and our Alaskan cruise last May.

I really like your FE (your magnets are awesome, too!). Did you make it or buy it? I can't make the pic big enough to tell for sure, but it looks like bandannas; am I right? Very cute.

We are! 4 on the Magic, 3 on the Wonder, 1 on the Dream and now the Fantasy!!! We can't wait to be a part of the Grand Slam Club!!! Next up, we have to make it to Platinum, lol!

What a cute idea! We are not even close. After 38 nights on the Magic, this will be our first time on a Disney ship other than the Magic. Looking forward to exploring a new Disney ship

WOW, it has been a busy week!!!

I wish we could say we are apart of the Grand Slam Club!! Do they have a club like that if you have stayed at all of the WDW resorts I might stand a chance at that one.

We decorated our door with magnets on our last cruise and I have been collecting some new ones for the Fantasy over the last year. I have to admit, I can not figure out photoshop for anything so mine are completely hanging artwork of other great Disigners here on the boards!!!

Since this is our first ever Disney cruise, I guess it will be a LONG time before we make it into that club! But that is definitely a goal of ours. Its just going to take us a while to get there! We're so jealous of you.

Have any of you who have GTY rooms received assignments? I am just hoping ours are adjacent and would be in heaven if they are connecting!

I saw a post from someone on the May 5th Fantasy saying that they haven't gotten their GTY assignments yet .... unfortunately, I think it will be a little while until we know. It apparantly could be as late as not until we get to the port Yikes! Lets hope we get them sooner and that we all get fantastic upgraded cabin assignments
