Ok.. Paid off the balance of the cruise yesterday, and this weekend I was motivated and actually completed 5 pages in the scrapbook for the last cruise! (you can check them out on my blog
I also figured out the adults FE gifts and ordered supplies. I would like to use the image that someone developed for our group.. but I do not know who to ask permission... Can anyone help?

So excited!!!:cool1:

Poohs4me is the creative genius that created our logo!!

I will send a copy of the list to everyone in involved. (it has the cabin number and everyone in cabin...) you can buy a cabin gift or gifts for everyone. I have gotten magnets, little trinkets, picture frames and all kinds of other stuff.

our gift in Sept was paint brushing with Mickey on them and baby powder... awesome to wash sand off etc.

I have a rough draft for anyone who wants a copy... just email me!!

Super cute idea on the FE gift!!!

If we do not get up to 100 what will happen?

I do not want to take anyone's money unless we have enough to place the order. If we don't reach 100, then we don't order. I will look to see if there is another company someone on the boards has recommended that may do a lesser minimum quantity.

Hi there - it's been awhile since I've been on the boards, but thought I should drop in since we are getting much closer to our cruise.

This is our 5th Disney cruise and for the last few, I have "found a friend" for my youngest daughter prior to the cruise which has worked out GREAT. She was able to email these girls for months in advance getting to know each other so she had instant friends when we got on the ship and played together in the clubs/pools. She'll be turning 11 in April, so she will be able to go to the Edge this trip. Does anyone have a daughter this age that would like to be an email buddy with Megan prior to the cruise. If so, please PM me. Thanks!

Tamie

**Update** We have now connected with another family that has a daughter that will be going to the EDGE. THANKS! If there are others, please feel free to contact me and we can add more to the email group.

OK I thought we had originally signed up for the FE, Post Card exchange, the lanyiards, (gee is there anything else I've missed) as well--3 adults--Dave (male), Shelly (female) & Terry (female) cabin 9174 home email shesewsall@yahoo.com

At any rate, there's the information if you no longer have it.

Shelly, Dave & Terry

This is our 2nd cruise and first time participating in the Fish Extenders. How exactly does it work? Will we get a list of all participating with how many kids and thier ages? I am trying to figure out what to do. Are you supposed to do something for each person in each family or for the family has a whole?

Also we signed up for the lanyards. How does that work? Do we need to pay someone ahead of time?

Thanks to anyone offering information!!:thumbsup2

I'm so glad I'm not the ONLY one that is beginning to feel a little lost in how to do the FE. I have the fabric purchased and will be making our FE in the next week or two--complete with machine embroidery and double sided (1 side for Pirate day and the other for the rest of the days). I would like a little more information on what to put IN the FE for those participating--is this a per person or per cabin thing? Is it per day or per cruise? Anyone that can shed a little more light on the subject for me I'd sure appreciate it.

I have asked the same questions and this is what I understand. You can do either a cabin gift or individual per cabin. You do not have to do something everyday...I believe most people do one gift per cuise. I have searched and seen all types of FE items....candy, toys (for kids), survival packs (things you seem to always forget), picture frames, autograph books, magnets.....check the dollar stores for cute and inexpensive items. If you are really crafty do a google search for FE gifts and you will find a lot of ideas. I too am about to work on my FE however mine will be without the aid of a sewing machine...I have no clue how to use one :( Maybe one day I will learn:)

The nice part about the FE is it is up to you on how much participation you want to do. I would say the majority of people on do 1 delivery. I have gotten gifts for all 5 of us in the cabin. ( with our names on them.) gifts for just the kids. and We have gotten just one cabin gift. We have received all kinds on things. The one cruise someone sold candles, so we all got candles. (music cds, pictures, magnets, literally any type of small trinket.)
We personally do a cabin gift -- but the contents vary if there are only adults vs adults/ kids.

on the the disboards there are lots of threads on what to give in the FE.

Update on FE

I sent everyone a copy of the FE list, please review and let me know if there are any corrections!! :cool1:

You can do as little or as much as you want. It is just a fun activity for the cruise. On our cruise we got stickers, tattoo's, pirate gear, a scrapbook, pens, pencils, candy. Most of the items were disney related or cruise related such as the pirate items.

The other great thing is between the door magnets and the fish extender it makes finding your room so much easier.

We gave postcards and magnets to the adults, water balls to the kids. We did one drop.

Our family has been booked on this cruise for many months, but FINALLY we know for SURE that we will ALL be cruising!! My niece is graduating from high school, so it is my family (me, DH, DD (25) and DS (14)), my sister's family (SIS, her DH, her DD (18) and DS (16)), my Mom and a friend of hers, and another family of 5!! We are SO excited and cannot WAIT!!:cool1:

We have finally decided to stay the night before the cruise at the Beach Club. We are then taking a car service to the port the morning of so we do not have to worry about returning a rental car, and can get there faster than the DC buses. Now, we are just waiting to book shore excursions and get our port arrival time.

Well, we too are planning on using the image that was designed for our cruise. Our bad, I thought since it was posted here as OUR group's logo that we could use it. Lordy, I never even thought about asking for permission for using it. OMG does that mean the originator of it will be suing me for digitizing and making it into an embroidery design? Oh CRAP! So---please whoever designed the Mickey's Memorial Day Fantasy design on our first page, PLEASE let us know if we're allowed to use that image--and FAST!!!!

I will add dates as well.

I know this sounds crazy, but if you're needing numbers, we will take 2 per each of us (that would be total of 6 instead of 3) for our cabin--I'm constantly losing things that I want to be sure to keep--and this way I'd have one to scrapbook and one to still use! Besides, lanyards are great for putting embroidery scissors on the end of and hanging around the neck--so I always know where they are while embroidering! :cheer2:

Besides, it'd be a nice little happy to give to our room steward and maybe our waiter as well. I love giving them a little bit of "us" while we're on board. They like receiving things too!

I'm so excited for you. I think it would be awesome for my whole family to go on a cruise together--even with all the family rivalries! Its a big ship, we could avoid each other! :rotfl: But with the prices of the cruises all the "new families" that are struggling to make it just couldn't afford it and I certainly don't have the means to pay for 5 children their spouses and their children. Maybe one day when we win the lottery we can do a cruise with all the family aboard with us.
But I am excited for you that everyone will be able to be with you on this cruise.

You realize it's only 4 months before we're aboard and will get to see each other as something other than print! I can't wait!!!! :woohoo:

Now, we are just waiting to book shore excursions and get our port arrival time.

We will be in Orlando the entire week before our cruise. We will be leaving the resort we'll be at that morning, drive over and board the cruise ship. We will be "Disneyed out" according to most people--but I don't think we could ever get too much Disney!

We, too, are waiting to book the shore excursions. Anyone else looking at doing the Salsa to Salsa? My BFF and I are going to do it while DH is off galavanting around the ruins. Anyone want to join us as we learn to make 4 types of salsa then learn how to dance the salsa? Or want to join DH as he goes to the ruins? The more the merrier!

We did that last year and while it was really fun, I wish I had planned the day before the cruise as a rest day. The first day of the cruise I just wanted to nap.

I agree with you, don't think there is such a thing as too much Disney!
I took the kids for 11 days the first of December to see all the Christmas lights and decorations.
My DH and I will arrive on May 17 and stay until we leave for the port on the 25th before the cruise. The 25th will be our rest day. And I already have a September trip to WDW planned to celebrate my kids birthdays which are a week apart. It will be the first time I have done 3 trips to Disney in a 1 year period.

We did that last year and while it was really fun, I wish I had planned the day before the cruise as a rest day. The first day of the cruise I just wanted to nap.

My DH and I are planning a laid back trip so that hopefully our rest day on the 25th will be enough. Although he plans on spending a lot of time on our verandah relaxing!!
