Here is a link to a thread that includes photos of the 9 a's.

There are two 9 a's aft, all of the others are far forward. I would be very uncomfortable up there. I do not care for these rooms myself, I would be more prone to sea sickness in these cabins.

I don't know my exact room number because I am GTY status. I don't know what to do now.. I could pay an extra $100 to switch to 08D?

Can you call DCL and see if you can pick your cabin? Or is it once you are a gty that's it? If you don't like those rooms in that category then I would spend the $100 and get a room you know for sure you are going to be happy with.

I don't think we'll be in the room that much honestly but in case I get seasick I don't want to be in a room that will perhaps make it worse. Also in those pictures I don't see the pull-down bed-- when I booked it it said there was one?? That is where my DD needs to sleep, my DS will be sleeping on the pull out couch.

I would pay to upgrade...so many times the GTY are forward cabins and on Deck 5. (sometimes not... but that is why we wont ever do GTY... I dont want a forward cabin.) I prefer midship. we were in 6598.. on th Magic... it is was literally midship. we are in 8060 on the Dream

By pull-down bed, do you mean upper-bunk bed? I think I do see an upper bunk in the photos of the 9 a's (it is still tucked up in the ceiling above the couch). What I do NOT see is a privacy curtain. There is also not a split bath, it is one all-in-one bathroom.

I think the extra $100 would be worth it to switch to 8D. The 8 d's are all aft, none forward. If you can choose your stateroom number, choose one as far to the middle as you can. I've never felt sea-sick aft, myself....it is always forward that does me in. My DH notices a slight vibration aft, but that vibration does not make me queasy, so it doesn't bother me. I have no idea if the Fantasy will have a vibration aft...but many cruise ships do. I like aft :).

You will get a bigger porthole (than the 9 a's) and they have a built in seat that looks great! You will have a privacy curtain and a splitbath. Your wall will not slant. Win, win, win :thumbsup2. Good luck!

Good morning everyone!! I haven't been to the DIS in forever!!! I forgot that I even signed up on this cruise meet board! Need to check in here more often!!

My girls have NO idea we're going on this cruise right now. Their focus is on the 3-night Dream cruise we have in September! We're also waitlisted for the DVC member cruise the 4-nighter before (hoping to make it 7-nights back to back). But, we figure if we don't make it on the DVC cruise, we'll at least get a little taste of the Dream. We actually prefer the longer cruises, which is why we booked the Fantasy!

As for cabins, we booked a cat 9A forward. Actually, my favorite cabins on the Magic & Wonder were the SPH rooms, which were forward and on deck 5! I never heard a peep from the kids clubs and it was convenient to bring the kids just down the hall to the club. And, except for that first night (those darn Florida straits), I've never really noticed any problems with seasickness in a forward room. Of course, that's different for everyone I guess. I just wanted to add my experiences.

So, I know it's a LONG way off, but has anyone thought of FEs???

Sorry, yes I meant an upper-bunk :) I told my DH about this and he's upset because the description does NOT match the room. When I booked it it definitely said there was a privacy curtain..

I would be a little upset with DCL, I just checked there website and they don't say anything about the design or layout in 9a's and I am assuming the picture they have up is of the 9B's on deck 2 or the aft 9A's. Also it says that these rooms have split baths, but in the photos (at least the accessible) has only 1 bathroom.

The picture looks like there is an upper bunk, and if it didn't have one then I would think with a family of 4 it would be treated just like if you booked a category 12 on the Wonder or Magic (automatic upgrade the next level) due to it not being able to accommodate everyone.

I don't see any privacy curtain or anywhere that it would make sense to be so that is something I would question again.

So, I know it's a LONG way off, but has anyone thought of FEs???

Absolutely, I know that Magic3forme (Val) is organizing the FE and asked that we please pm her with our information. I am not sure, but she may update the list on here so we can keep up with who has and has not signed up.

As far as the gifts, I wanted to do something a bit more crafty this time and I have been doing a lot of research!! So again, yes!!

I am kind of bummed though. I was on Etsy this week and the woman I purchased my FE from in September has increased her prices to $43 for a FE. Her work is amazing, our FE came out gorgeous and I really want to purchase a new one from her, but when I saw that I was in shock. I looked on Ebay as well and it looks like many of them also raised there prices. I wonder if the material is costing a bit more??

Still can't wait to hear how the people in concierge are going to be able to participate in FE though, has anyone heard anything about this?

I bought my FE a LONG time ago when the originals were out there that were just solid colors (mine is pink) with the different Mickey's on them. Actually, I think my door is the first picture on that big FE thread out there!

Anyway, both my mom and I can sew and we have embroidery machines, with all the Disney characters, so I was considering making mine. What do I search on at Etsy? I'd love to see her work to see a pic of what they're making. And maybe make my own!!

If you do a search on Etsy for FE, stichesnbows is the one I purchased from. I have a picture of it in my TR if you want to see what she made for me. She does have a few new designs that I really like.

Cool, thanks! I'll have to go take a look! My mom does LOTS of different embroidery things. Actually, the picture of the girls in my signature is a dress that she made for them with a Mickey Pirate theme!!

Gradysmom or gradysmommy makes fe on ebay too... that is Tiffany.. we were on the same cruise in 08. I bought pillowcases with the kids names on them from her :)

Love your daughters dresses! sooo cute!!

I am going to take over the FEs. :) when you get a chance... send me your info in a pm... name kids ages, cabin number and home email.

got to go a date with John tonight. :) love having a built in babysitter!!

we were loving the 72 degree weather today!

Those dresses are adorable!!

I forget what the screen name is for the woman who makes them on Etsy, but she is also on here. I need to look at Gradysmommy since she has gotten a little bit higher then I want to pay. My first one while beautiful said first cruise, and now I want a different one, but DH said well it will be our first cruise on the Fantasy so won't that work.. men, they just don't get it.

Did it really get up to 72 today!! I didn't look at the temp just enjoyed the amazing weather. Such a great break from all the cold and snow that we have had. I have a date night with Mitch scheduled for the 5th, we are going to see the Wizard of Oz at the Fox and then have dinner. I purchased a gift certificate from doubletakedeals for $20 for $40. Very excited, have not had a date night in forever. I can't wait until Scott is old enough to watch Haley, but we are not quite there yet. Did you guys go anywhere special or just a quite evening close to home?

I am having the fight of my life with Haley's Pre-k school, apparently they were open during the snow, they never called to let us know and now they want the tuition for that week. I feel that had they called me and told me they were open I would happily pay the tuition because then it would have been my decision to keep her home, but there was no way for me to know that they were open and I thought they were just following the schools schedule. Very frustrating. This is the second time they have done this to me this year, I would love to change schools but I don't feel that is right to her, but I think the school is a bit ridiculous in there ways.

Wow that stinks about the daycare... I didnt think anyone or anything was open during the snow... North Point Mall was even closed for 2 days!!

John & I just went to Ichiban and had sushi. then I had a few returns to do... ultra exciting! :rotfl2: The Wizard of Oz sounds like fun... we havent seen any type of show in a long time. ( unless you count DCL) :)

I wish I knew how to sew... there is such a huge market for fish extenders! who knew!! :)

Is anyone going to take pillowcases to have signed??

I did the photo mat last time, which I thought was one of the best tips I got on the DIS and Haley loves her's. So I was thinking about doing the pillowcase for this cruise. Again, no sewing and I would want something on it. I was looking on Etsy for one. Nenner1 just did an update on her Grand Cayman day on her TR and her daughter had the most adorable minnie ears hair clips that I just purchased for Haley. They are to cute and were $11.95.

Those clips are ADORABLE!!! I was wandering around Etsy since last night and sent my mom an email with some of the links. She's just as talented as those ladies, and she could show off some of her talents!! Right now, she only sews for other people via word of mouth. With that being said, I just LOVE when she makes stuff for my girls, so if she gets "too" busy, she wouldn't have time for me, LOL!!

The sad part is that my oldest is 9 now, and she's at that point where she doesn't want to have anything custom made for her. She'd rather have on a pair of jeans & a t-shirt!! She even declared that princesses were for little kids. :scared1:

Oh no, princesses are for little girls :scared1: that is what I am most afraid of!! Haley still loves everything princesses which is why I booked her at the BBB for her birthday. My SIL thought it was to over the top for a 5 year old birthday, but like I told her you only get a short period of time until they are out of the princesses and they don't want to do things like that.

My MIL use to sew, she made all of my sons Halloween costumes for years, but now she says her fingers just won't do the thread and such.

I wish I was talented as many of those on Etsy, but... I think it's a great revenue stream for those that are talented though. I would be just like you though, afraid that if I shared it with them they would get to busy with paying customers to do the stuff for me :rotfl:

that is too funny you posted Sarahs picture (Nenner1)... Jenn and Ron were on our double dip! I still talk to Jenn on facebook all the time... Sarah was soo tiny on our cruise!! and the Minnie ears are adorable!!

I normally just do plain pillowcases! We have so many of them. :) the kids use them too. We did 2 photo mats in Dec...and they turned out really well. I am going to buy colored photo mats for our cruise in Sept. (we will probably do the pillowcases too... although we dont need anymore!!)

I told Jenn I wanted her on our cruise to plan Dis events, she said she would happily do it for cruise fare :rotfl: I love her TR's.

I like the idea of the colored photo mats!! I may do that. I may do one of the travel size pillowcases as well, both of the kids love to have there travel pillows in the car so that would be useful to have.
