Sorry, yes I meant an upper-bunk :) I told my DH about this and he's upset because the description does NOT match the room. When I booked it it definitely said there was a privacy curtain..

No worries! Upper-bunks do pull down :), but so do the murphy beds so I was just trying to clarify :goodvibes

Some of the 9a's may have a privacy curtain (no photos have come out of that though), but there are some without so you could be placed in one without, with a 9a GTY.

I've read reports of many folks who have booked 9a's getting upgraded out of those (by DCL for free), so not many have had the chance to even see them. Perhaps Disney is aware of the potential negatives of these rooms and so tries to not actually place folks in them. I'm sure some people will love them and want them for the very reasons that I want to avoid them...so glad we have choices!

Good morning everyone!! I haven't been to the DIS in forever!!! I forgot that I even signed up on this cruise meet board! Need to check in here more often!!

My girls have NO idea we're going on this cruise right now. Their focus is on the 3-night Dream cruise we have in September! We're also waitlisted for the DVC member cruise the 4-nighter before (hoping to make it 7-nights back to back). But, we figure if we don't make it on the DVC cruise, we'll at least get a little taste of the Dream. We actually prefer the longer cruises, which is why we booked the Fantasy!

As for cabins, we booked a cat 9A forward. Actually, my favorite cabins on the Magic & Wonder were the SPH rooms, which were forward and on deck 5! I never heard a peep from the kids clubs and it was convenient to bring the kids just down the hall to the club. And, except for that first night (those darn Florida straits), I've never really noticed any problems with seasickness in a forward room. Of course, that's different for everyone I guess. I just wanted to add my experiences.

So, I know it's a LONG way off, but has anyone thought of FEs???

What cute girls! Love their dresses too :thumbsup2

You are not alone in loving those secret porthole rooms, they seem so popular :)! I avoid them because of their forward position. If they were aft, I would love them.

Gradysmom or gradysmommy makes fe on ebay too... that is Tiffany.. we were on the same cruise in 08. I bought pillowcases with the kids names on them from her :)

Love your daughters dresses! sooo cute!!

I am going to take over the FEs. :) when you get a chance... send me your info in a pm... name kids ages, cabin number and home email.

got to go a date with John tonight. :) love having a built in babysitter!!

we were loving the 72 degree weather today!

I bought mine from her on ebay as well....I really like it!

Thanks for taking on the FE's. I'll probably sign us up, but I'm waiting until closer to our dates. We have so much ahead of us still....a move for one!

72 degrees sounds like heaven. We are in the 20's and selling GirlScout cookies outdoors, freezing our toes off :cold:

I did the photo mat last time, which I thought was one of the best tips I got on the DIS and Haley loves her's. So I was thinking about doing the pillowcase for this cruise. Again, no sewing and I would want something on it. I was looking on Etsy for one. Nenner1 just did an update on her Grand Cayman day on her TR and her daughter had the most adorable minnie ears hair clips that I just purchased for Haley. They are to cute and were $11.95.

Adorable!! :lovestruc

OK, so we got 4 names suggested for our cruise meet, I listed it as a poll on the first page.

Happy valentine's Day!!

I am not working today :thumbsup2, so decided to play around on the boards and update some things within the thread!! We are having such gorgeous weather here in Atlanta, we were out all weekend long and it was wonderful!! Hopefully that groundhog not seeing his shadow is correct and we are on our way to Spring :goodvibes

I have been watching the videos from Passporter as well on youtube. I know their book was a huge help for us on our cruise, so wanted to pass along the link to anyone who hasn't seem them yet. Click Here

:welcome: Kelly and families!

I am truly loving this warm weather.... I broke out the flip flops today :)

This weather has been great, I hope it stays like this!! I heard it is suppose to be almost 70 on Friday :cool1:

I bought Mitch new golf clubs for his birthday and was able to send him to play golf on Sunday with a friend of his for the day, he was thrilled. So glad the weather worked out so he could enjoy his gift!!

One of the things we did not do on our 4 day trip was book Palo's we wanted to try all the restaurants and Pirate Night, but this trip I definitely want to try Palo. I was hoping watching the reviews of the Dream, Disney would just keep the same system for rotation, but it seems they have changed it and now the 3rd and 4th night repeat instead of the 2nd and 3rd. Which means they will probably mix it up on the 7 night :headache:

Has anyone given thought to booking Palo and what night they think they will book it?

we will book Palo for dinner (more than likely formal night.) we are not fans of dressing up...and a lot of times we dont care for the food on that night also.

once the cruise gets closer we will decide.....and hopefully by then they have some menu changes..... personally AP is my least favorite...

We loved Palo on the Magic in 2009, so we will definitly rebook. I am not sure what night yet though...

:welcome:

My dd will be almost 6 when we sail as well!!

Our exchange student is from Munster Germany.

I was in shock yesterday when I actually booked... this cruise is going to be almost twice as expensive as the cruise in 2009. And when we looked into other cruise lines just for comparison they were almost as expensive!

Ok.. so we have confirmed Main dining - 9pm show
and our cabin is 5046

I'm dreaming of flipflop (slippas!) weather...someday!

I enjoy Palo. There are many choices for a vegetarian and food seems fresher than the main dining room. It is nice to sit at a table for two with your spouse and the view and atmosphere is fantastic. We have been lucky to do tea, brunch and dinner there each DCL cruise.

I don't think I want to give up seaday time for tea again this next cruise. If my DD could come with me, I would do it. I LOVE brunch, the grape pizza is my fav! DH is "done" with brunch, though, he prefers dinner. He had the best steak at Palo dinner last May. My dinner was just so-so there last time, a bit salty. Perhaps my own fault for ordering something mushroom for each course. I'm curious about Remy. I have not heard back on if there are enough choices for a vegetarian to fill up on yet.

If we decide to do Remy, and IF we are lucky enough to be able to get reservations for Remy....we will probably do one meal at Palo, brunch or dinner not both. We won't bother with Tea this time around.

I've noticed in tripreports that folks' least favorite is Enchanted Garden...they don't seem to be able to put a finger on why. Folks seem split on liking AP and RP best. It would depend on where I was seated in RP if it would be my fav or not....some tables look to have bad sightlines. The big table in the center looks very cool, what fun that would be to be a huge group at that table, quite the party :).

What night to book Remy or Palo? Good question. My choice would be whatever night they have a movie instead of show in the main theater....wait, is that pirate night? I don't want to miss pirate night. Hmmm....I guess I really have no clue yet! Perhaps first or last night would be good, seems like I enjoy those menus the least.

Hope you all had a wonderful valentine's day :lovestruc

Welcome!! Sounds like a fun group :goodvibes

This will be me and my oldest daughters 3rd cruise but my youngest 2 only their first cruise. I can wait but a little scared my 9 yo is on a vent at night and this will be first time traveling with it.
Marsha

:welcome: Marsha!! I would be nervous about the vent to, my daughter has asthma and for some reason Florida's weather always irritates it. On our cruise we packed the portable neb as well as her regular one. Luckily she did great, and we didn't have any issues (well besides her broken arm). I was so scared prior to the cruise though, especially that she would start having attacks the night before we boarded and them not allowing us to board even though it was just asthma.

Enchanted Garden has the least appeal to me, the restaurant looks pretty and I thought we could eat there for breakfast and maybe a lunch, but the dinner menu doesn't appeal to me at all. I also considered actually skipping the main dining room for pirate night altogether.

Last time did not seem like much went on in the dining room to make it worthwhile to get out so late, and with the new pirate show DD would want to be at the 8pm show and since we have late dining that wouldn't work. I thought about either booking Palo that night or going to Cabanas (since the waiters there get dressed up also).

I had the same thought with the Tea and Brunch. I think both Mitch and I would enjoy the brunch, I know he would have no interest in the Tea and I didn't think I wanted to spend a sea day with the Tea as well as the brunch.

Can you book both Dinner and Brunch at the opening or only one?
