Has anyone's kids attended the pj party in the clubs with pluto? I think DD would really enjoy this, but wanted to hear first hand what other kids thought of this.

John and Natalie both did this on our last cruise... it was actually Goofy on the Magic. Goofy does come into the club in his pjs. There is dancing and all kids get to color a pillowcase with Goofy on it. they both had fun! :)

My daughter went. In fact she practically counted down the minutes until it started. She was a few years older than your daughter will be, but she loved it. In fact she loved every activity they did in the club.

After seeing all the fantastic new clubs they will have on the Fantasy I'm super jealous that there isn't a parents' night in there. I want to play in Andy's Room and use that cool gaming floor in the Oceaneer Lab. :woohoo:

All of the kids' clubs look great to me. I've shown my DD photos of the Edge club on the Dream....she likes the look! I think my DS will enjoy the teen club, I would :).

I'm looking forward to the adult clubs but I'm dissappointed to hear the recent reports on the Dream's adult pool area. I don't like the sound of small, shady, smokey and no lounges pool side. I liked the adult pool area on the Magic very much so this is a bummer. I wish the "swim up bar" had been a real swim up bar, that could have been fun....ah well.

The kids clubs looking amazing.. I want to play on the interactive floor, that just looks to cool.

I agree with you with the adult pool, while I think the design is very pretty and I can see some of the logic behind Disney's design, I don't like the lack of loungers around the pool and the reports on how it is shaded most of the day. As far as the swim up bar, I am new to cruising so not sure but does any cruise ship have an actual swim up bar? I just remember the first night on our cruise and those pools were splashing so bad that I could see it drowning out a swim up bar?? I do agree though that a swim up bar would be nice to have!!!

DH has been reading some of the reports with me and looking at the pictures, he told me the other night, forget about the excursions, we are just going to stay on the boat; there is way to much to see and do

Skyline looks so neat, with a light up menu!!!

Ha! :rotfl: I didn't think about when the swim-up bar would be out to sea.

Originally I booked a category 10A deluxe inside stateroom, now looking at all of the pictures of the 8D's the Family Oceanview rooms, I really like those and they are so much bigger then the inside. I like the idea of the virtual porthole, love the midship location of our cabin. I like the insides because they are great for napping mid day (yes I plan to nap on vacation), but the Family Oceanviews look really nice. The price difference is about $350, would you upgrade or would you keep the inside???

Tough decision. I'd consider how much time you think you'll spend in your cabin (not sleeping) We had a wonderful veranda family room on our Wonder cruise, and although it was really nice, when deciding for this cruise we chose an inside room because we found that we spent very little time in our room. We figured the DVC points we're saving on the inside room means more Disney vacation days somewhere else down the line. Consider if you might get more use out of the $350 in the spa, for an excursion, Bingo, alcohol/smoothies... If you like to hang in the room quite a bit the extra view might be worth it. The oceanview window seats look really cool.

I love having an oceanview. especially when leaving ports or when we are in port.
if you pick a Starboard side... you can see Castaway Cay too. (right side of the ship.)

What deck are you on now ? and what deck will you move to?

I would actually do an 8c since d's are on 5 or 6 and with the Lab on 5 I would be concerned about noise. Those are on 7 or 8 aft and I am currently on 9 mid.

I was surprised how much time we spent in our cabin on our 4 day. We spent time on embarkation, unpacking, we ordered room service and relaxed for awhile, and throughout the cruise we found ourselves watching movies, napping or various other stuff. So we definitely spent enough time in the room to want to be comfortable while there, which is why I booked the deluxe because I knew I wanted the split bath.

$350 would cover excursion costs which is what I keep toying with. But then again I have 12 months to pay it off so it only ads $30 per month to the budget???

Cat. 10A is 204 sq. feet, the same as the oceanview 9a+b. The 8's have 37 sq. feet more because of the extra murphy bed at the far end (next to the window). The murphy bed is in the wall during the day, so you get the extra chair. This extra space is all there at the end of the room, making your room longer but not wider. This actually makes the sunlight further away from the main bed (queen). The one thing I do like about the 8's is the bigger porthole with seat...that does look nice! All 8's are forward or aft, none midship that I can see. I would go with aft, if choosing between, because I can not handle forward! I never went for a "secret porthole" on the Magic because they are forward.

The 8a's, forward on decks 5 + 6, look to be different from the rest of the 8's. These a's don't have a split bath, just one all in one bathroom. They appear to have a lot more floor space. They are set up a bit like a mini suite, with the couch and tv/desk on one side and the queen bed on the other. I saw the photos from a link another diser posted. I'll try and find it so I can post it for you to look at. I, myself, would not book the 8 a's because they are forward and cost more for my family of 4 than two 9 b's do. With two 9 b's I'm getting two split baths, so 4 sinks (instead of one sink!), two tvs, two couchs and two main beds, plus.....a door to close for privacy!!!

wow, sounds like a tough choice! I might be the only one.. but I cant handle deck 5...:rotfl2: there is something with the motion of the boat....and being forward makes me loopy :rotfl:

is anyone doing any excursions in the Bahamas?

11's and 10's were more $ than the 9 b's when I booked. Not many 11's and 10's and the virtual portholes seem to be in demand. I know that some folks don't like being on the lower deck, they prefer to be higher. I prefer natural light, so I'm thrilled to get the porthole and for less.

Me too! Forward can do me in

The first night makes me loopy too! something with the Gulfstream... but after that I am fine.
I made the mistake 2 cruises ago of taking Bonine and having a drink at the sailaway party... . I was out by 10 that night!

My kids have a virtual porthole in their room and they are really excited about it! :) we got spoiled having 2 cabins last time... it makes it so much easier when 5 people have to get ready for dinner.

err, so it begins... My furnace has gone out, it is either $900 to fix it or $1200 to replace it. Would figure when I am thinking about an upgrade some crazy money fiasco would occur :confused3

uh oh.. did I pick the wrong stateroom category?? I get motion sick so I don't want a room that is going to make it worse. We are in a Category 09A

do you know the room number? are you Aft? (back of the ship)..
they say for motion sickness.. the lower decks are supposed to be best. for me it is higher.... so go figure.

Verygfy: Sorry to hear about your furnace... that stinks!!! and it has been sooo cold here too! :(

Here is a link to a thread that includes photos of the 9 a's.

There are two 9 a's aft, all of the others are far forward. I would be very uncomfortable up there. I do not care for these rooms myself, I would be more prone to sea sickness in these cabins.

Figures, I actually just got a bonus check so that will pay for the furnace, but geez would have much preferred to use it for vaca.. Oh well, what are you gonna do.

I was looking at the pictures of the 9a's and the 8a's last night. Those rooms with the slanted wall would drive me crazy all week. I just couldn't do that. I will say though those 8a's with the divider wall look like a ton of space, and the extra tv in the sleeping area would be very nice. I just don't think we could do forward rooms, otherwise I would be tempted to do those.

Did anyone see the pictures of the 6A balcony?? Holy moly that is one small balcony :scared1: I posted a picture of it on the facebook page..
