Put me down for the No :laundy: club! I am an over packer, so we are good. :rotfl2: We are staying at BLt after the cruise, so I bet I wash something there.... I am a wash a holic when I have my own washer/ dryer! :)

Yep on diving, My DH is diving in Grand Cayman and Cozumel. DD is diving with him at both locations and DBiL is diving with him in Cozumel. No diving for me this trip though and I have a guess that DD will back out but you never know.

No on laundry. :scared1: I actually did not mind doing laundry on vacation when we were in a 1 bedroom at OKW.

I didn't mind doing laundry when we were in a 1 bedroom at Boardwalk. I did one load the night before we left and it was great.

Now with my no laundry rule, I will also say I have never been a 2 week or more vacation. 10 days has been tops for me and even that has been a rare occassion. Jealous of all you who are going for a week before the cruise.

Hey are there any other divers here on the board? If so are you diving any this trip? We are planning on hitting Grand Caymans and Cozumel.

Hubby and I are both divers. Wish we could come with you. I hear Grand Cayman diving is amazing. Our kids are not quite old enough yet, and we don't want to ditch them, so we're just going snorkling as a family. As soon as they are old enough we'll get them certified too.

DH and I are both divers but he has a heart condition so our diving days are in the past. We did go on a week long dive trip to Cozumel a few years back and the diving was extraordinary.:fish:

Same with us---working on finishing things up for the FE (glad we didn't wait until the last minute to start them--they just keep evolving and we keep doing more to them). The final list will be appreciated. And I totally agree, Kathy, THANK YOU VAL for all the work you've done keeping the FE list straight!

We too will arrive in Orlando 43 days from now (I think I counted that correctly) to begin our vacation in the parks and Universal. Wow is it really getting that close? AWESOME!!! I'm so excited! We've even started putting things in the suitcases we know we won't need between now and then but we'll need while on vacation. Maybe we'll be able to meet up at one of the parks since we'll be there at the same time (well I'm guessing we will be).

As far as those of you that are or aren't planning on doing laundry---we're part of the group that will be doing laundry--on Friday before leaving Orlando to head to the ship on Sat. Since we'll be in Orlando for a week and on the ship for a week--we figure we'll pack for 1 week, do laundry and then be set for the cruise.

We arrive in Orlando on May 17 and will check out on the 25 and spend most of that day at the Port. My DH likes to drive around since he was stationed at Patrick AFB back in his Air Force days. Plus that give us the chance to eat at Fishlips which we discovered before our NYE cruise and he fell in love with the place. Maybe we can meet somewhere before that week is over and have a super mini meet!!!

We will be in a 1 bdrm @ the Villa at Wilderness Lodge, so we will have a washer/dryer in the room. One of the perks of DVC. I am normally an overpacker also, but we have been trying to change our ways and cut back. The kids and I packed a lot less for our WDW Dec trip last year and were in the 1 bdrm @ AKL and SSR and made very good use of the washer/dryer. We would start a load in the washer when we left for the parks and dry them when we got back every few days. So I figure if we do laundry right before we leave WDW for the cruise, then I only have to have one week plus a couple of extra outfits for formal night and will have plenty of room in the luggage for the FE gifts that I will be bringing home. . . plus souvenirs!! :thumbsup2

Yes, I am afraid we are doing laundry, but at our house, EVERYONE pitches in and makes short work of it - DD and DS are responsible for sorting, DH helps with folding, so it's not a biggie. Since we'll be doing a B2B cruise, we won't have a choice, I don't think. However, we're going to be back on board on the 2nd of June hopefully b4 everyone and will get to snag a washer then! Finding a washer open on our 11 night Med last year was a challenge......lol! We also stayed at BLT right after the cruise, and had a bunch of laundry to do when we got there, but it beats packing enough clothes for that many nights for four ppl!

Hello to everyone,

It's been quite a while since I have been on and have spent most of the morning catching up.

:welcome: to all who have joined us in the last few weeks and especially to all the first time Disney cruisers.

Has anyone been to these ports before and done private excursions?
I was thinking of doing nocchi cocum (sp?) by way of taxi. Any experiences with this? How about taking a taxi to the turtle farm? Any other places that would be better? We have 2 little ones to bring along.

We did the Dolphin encounter years ago in Cozumel.. it was wonderful. There are lots of taxis right outside the docks in Cozumel. We booked directly thru them and not DCL. it was much cheaper, not sure if you can book directly anymore.

Hi guys! I just booked the VGT Cabin Fare for DH and I for the May 26 Western Caribbean Cruise on the Fantasy!!! This will be our FIRST DISNEY CRUISE!!! I'm so excited I can hardly stand myself. Our anniversary is in May so we will be celebrating on the cruise. 11 years.

I'd like to know a little more about the FE exchange and maybe join the group if it's not too late. Do you give something everyday? To just one other family? Not quite sure how it works, but it looks like a lot of fun and something that makes the cruise a little more exciting. I did find that I can buy the FE Extenders on Etsy (I do not sew) so that's good. At least I know I can get one.

First of all, :welcome: to the group!! As far as the FE goes--we had a deadline of April 1--email Val at WBACH17 at aol dot com and check with her to see if it is too late to join--know she's sending out the final list this weekend. The FE is currently at 42 cabins of people exchanging cruise fun. It can be something per cabin, per person, per week or per day--however you want to do it and what you feel comfortable with. There is no right/wrong way to do it. It is meant to be fun--not to be something that causes you stress.

And with your information you provided, that should be all the info needed for Roll Call. There were 2 others--post card exchange (a post card with a recipe on the back) and souvenier laniards (both of those had deadlines of April 1 as well). Angela is in charge of the laniards and don't know if those have been ordered or not--she'll need your email address to be able to send invoice if she hasn't ordered yet and you wanted one. You can find out all about all of this by reading through (well scanning as there are over 1000 posts) through this thread from the beginning. We also have a facebook page that you might want to join, too.

We're glad you can join you and there are many first time Disney cruisers aboard (us included) so you won't feel alone there either. On the other hand, there are several experienced cruisers in our group to help the rest of us out!

Welcome to the group! It's great to see all of these new people joining our group! Shelly already gave you the run down of the FE and other things planned.

We've also just recently made the decision to have our official onboard DISmeet at 3pm at the Vista Cafe on deck 4. We hope to see you there!

We still have 7 weeks to go and we're all starting to get super excited!! If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask. This will be our 9th DCL sailing (1st on the Fantasy though), we'll try to help the best that we can!

Again, Welcome to the group!!!

:welcome::welcome:party:

So glad you and your DH are able to join us. My DH and I are also celebrating our anniversary which is the 26th the day we sail, but we are celebrating our 28th!!!

Thank for the Welcome! and Happy Anniversary to you and your DH, Kathy! Ours is May 5. We weren't able to do anything "big"(trip wise) for our 10 year anniversary last year because of varying circumstances so we are cruising this year!!!

Glad for the post on the CC5k! I will actually have done a Half Marathon the weekend prior to our sailing to this will be a nice way to relax and still get in a bit of exercise. I hope I can take the heat though! I think a 5K on Castaway Cay will fun!!!

Is the meet on our departure day? After everyone boards the ship? Thanks!!!

Welcome postesf and sarahsmom02!!!!

Ive been away from the boards for a week and am trying to catch up Got the DIS meet info at 3 at vista. I've never been to one before but will do my best To go this time. It will be fun to "know" people on the cruise besides just the 4 of us.

We've got a wedding in Fl in 2 weeks to go to and the KY derby the first week in May. After that, I will start focusing on getting ready for the trip. I'm not participating in the FE as there is no way I could get my act together for that. But I can't wait o see all the FEs hanging in the hallways :)

Still waiting on my VGT assignment :rolleyes1

Hey is there an official count and listing for the recipe exchange rooms? I'm trying to figure out how many post cards I need.

Craig
