Where in AL? My father's family is from there and we lived there for 5 years while my husband was in school, now we are back in Louisiana. We really loved living in AL. We are going to Alaska soon with DCL, but I am so looking forward to this cruise, too! My daughter is finally old enough to do a dolphin excursion, so this should be a cruise to remember especially since we will be able to experience a new ship.

Have fun in Alaska. We were on the first sailing and had a great time. PM me if you have any questions.

Cactusgirly - We are from Arizona too, but south of you and just north of Tucson. We booked this week for a one of the same reasons DD(15) will be just getting out of school for the summer. Its great that we get out a little earlier than other parts. The going back so early not so good.

Hello fellow Arizonan! (or whatever it is that we are called... Zonies?) :)

We just got back from a 5-night dream cruise to the Bahamas. The cruise was sold out much like this one will be, and has been at times. You do notice the crowds, but of course last time we sailed the ship was at half capacity.

We rode the aquaduck several time and never waited more than 30 minutes. We could not get any reservations for Palo once on board and many of the castaway cay excursions were sold out prior to cruising. The second visit to castaway cay was very windy and many of the excursions were canceled due to this. The beach never seemed crowded, just the ship.

The pools are way too small and many parents do not keep their unpotty trained little ones out of it. My yougest (8) loved the pool and spent lots of time there. She also was the only one of us to get bacterial conjunctivitis.:scared: With antibiotic it has since cleared up.

Bummer. I hope the other parts of the cruise were good. (service, shows...) Hopefully Disney has been paying attention to the things that are not working on the Dream (for example: small pools) and they tweak them on the Fantasy.

Just went shopping today for DD's 5th birthday and ran across some great deals that I thought I would share with everyone!!

Disney Store: I bought the recycle bags for $2.50 each, going to use these as the kids easter basket next year to tell them about the cruise. They had POTC ones for the new movie so I got that for DS. They also had flip flops on sale for $2.99 each!!! They had some Minnie mouse and Mickey t-shirts for $5.99 each. They also had the cups with the straws in them for $2.99. Not sure if I am going to give this to DD for her birthday or in her basket yet!!

Then I went to the Dollar Store for party favors and they had Tinkerbell and Disney Princesses comb and mirror set with 5 hair ties... all for $1 I think I bought every princess one there :rotfl: They also had a lot of Cars items that I thought would be cute for FE.

Ohh and for anyone like me looking for Tangled items, the Disney store now has Flynn Rider as the large doll and they should be getting Maximus in in the next week or so!!

I hope the Palo does not hold true for the Fantasy, maybe with the 2 extra days there will be enough... I really hope they enlarge the pools, I am so sorry about the conjunctivitis, glad they are feeling better

Just out of curiousity - How many people are currently signed up for the Fish Extender? Is there a drop dead date to sign up?

Welcome back!! I am not sure what design for the logo.. Since it's Memorial Day I thought something red, white and blue would be neat and beyond that I have no clue. I have tried a few different times to do a couple, but can't manage to figure out photoshop at all.. Can we say creatively challenged :rotfl:

I tried just doing a life preserver with palapas (sp?) inside and then red, white and blue lines, but....

Anything you could come up with I am sure would be great!

I thought I would try something. Let me know what you think

That is awesome, great job!!

I love it!!

In regards to the FE, I am not sure how many have signed up Magic3forme is handling the list. I think she is in Hawaii right now, and she did mention that she would do an update once she got back.

We should have a drop dead date, just not sure how long before, 30 days, 60 days??? Any suggestions??

I like the Mickey Memorial Logo!
I would vote for 60 day cut off on the FE. Knowing how busy ends of school years can be it will be nice to get the FE project done early.

This is amazing Pooh! Love it!!!

I think between 30 & 60 days cut off for FE sounds reasonable. I also agree that if the list gets long we should split it. (someone mentioned that several posts back) I met someone on my last cruise who said their FE group was 99 families.

Love the logo! This is fanstastic! Thank you so much!
I vote for a 60 day cut-off date. I can use all the time I can get to make the FE gifts. :tinker:

I would like to join the fish extender gift exchange we are in cabin 6088 it will be me and my 3 children

dd 13 ( special needs autism)
dd 10 (special needs trach and vent wheelchair dependent)
dd 5 totally typical awesome little sister

we have late dining

hope to meet you all and have a great trip

I am back!! :) Hawaii was beautiful!!! :) now I am just jet lagged!!

As regards to the FE list, I cut it off 6 weeks before the last cruise, so I will say April 1, 2012 is the last day to sign up. right now I have 13 cabins that are signed up so far, if the list gets out of hand, I will split it. ( I didnt split it in Dec 10, it was 26 cabins.) also, I had atleast 5 families that were signed up and actually dropped the cruise.
does April 1st work for everyone as a cutoff?

I LOVE LOVE the logo :thumbsup2

a few of you have signed up for the FE, I will be sending you a PM, but I am asking for everyones home email, that way I can send the list.

I like April 1st. It is a good easy date to remember. . . . plus it is my youngest granddaughter's birthday!!:woohoo:
