May 26, 2010--5/26/2010 10 Night Mediterranean

Thank you for the info on the new Novotel hotel opening in March. I just got a family room and saved over $500 from the previous hotel I had reserved!!!

Also, is anyone from the Denver area? I am still searching for flights and haven't had much luck with the prices!

Looking forward to our first cruise ever.
:yay:

We will be flying out of Denver too...what a nightmare for flight searching...Do I use United, or British Airways or Air Canada??...:confused3. We keep looking at Orbitz for ideas, but it is all just awful...I thought $1000 a person was bad, but now it's jumped to $1200 and my DH is adamant about finding a 1 stop flight over hoping there will be less chance of baggage loss....we'll see:confused:

Just found out the other day that DS 12 was selected to attend the World Jamboree for scouting in Sweden in 2011! We will be planning a family trip to Finland and Russia prior to his scouting event! We were originallly booked on the July 2010 Baltic cruise, but switched to this Med Cruise for the tremendous savings! And we'll be celebrating our 20 Wedding anniversary then too! We honeymooned in Finland and Sweden in 1991! So thrilled to be going back! (I'm half Finnish, btw). :goodvibes

Hi all,

I started some discussion topics on the FB page. They are as follows:

(1) Barcelona Hotels - where are you staying?

(2) How are you getting there?

(3) Fish extenders - are you up for it?

Please feel free to set up any discussion topics that you wish. This is to help with free communication and ideas.

Happy Saturday to everybody... I'm off to the Passport Office to get my passport renewed, and to get my son his first passport ever!

Karen

there were a lot of nightmare stories of the airlines losing their luggage in 2007 last time dcl went to the med when people had a layover in europe.
if at all possible make your stop in the usa. than fly from lets say jfk, newark, philly or wherever else has nonstop to barcelona should be a less chance of luggage lose. than what everyone should do is mixed your luggage.
if its just two people and taking 1 suitcase a piece pack half your clothes in each suitcase, incase 1 gets loss. try sticking with 1 airline also. a lot of them flights to europe has people taking two differnt airlines for their flights.

We are actually in Col Springs, but it is cheaper to fly out of Denver. I know what you mean about the flights jumping up!! I am hoping they will drop a little. I was thinking British Airways would be the least likely to lose luggage but now I am not so sure!!

You Pluto and my DH are thinking the same thing...but I think that I would rather have my luggage lost closer to Barcelona than 5000 miles from the ship in New Jersey:rotfl2:.We will have 5 suitcases and I know that others suggest that we mix clothes in all the suitcases, but what if the lost suitcase has everyones nice shoes in it and we show up at formal night in tennis shoes or I only have my formal dress or jammies for every dinner....lol..We will have to make reservations soon. Some of those planes will probably run out of seats:confused3

DH and I started discussing the trip last night over dinner and we were trying to decide what we want to do in Paris. He really wants to see Normandy and the beaches of D-day and the American cemetery. He's not really interested in visiting Disneyland Paris. So we took a vote on it including the kids and Normandy won! So DLP will have to wait for another trip! Now I'm busy trying to plan a side trip here. Anyone visit Normandy? We're considering renting a car to get there from the CDG airport. Have looked at a few hotels and even some tour companies. Any input would be appreciated. What is driving like in Paris? It would be over the weekend, then driving Sun night back to Paris from Normandy and dropping off the car. Or would we be better taking the train? So many decisions...:surfweb:

Ok, Huby and I are off tonight so were going to work on the list for what family has what day and will also have ages and a totals, its not to late to get in, if you havent emailed me ages and names of everyone in your group and hopefully cabin number please do so. I will update the cabin list later and have a list of all cabins participating so its easier when passing out on ship.I think since so far there was "families" wanting to do this it would be easier for families just to take a day and get everyones cabin since there might be only 10 or so cabins. If someone doesnt like this let me know but just seems to be the easiest as of now .

Hubby and I will be passing out lanyards on the first day, if you dont want to do the FE but want a lanyard that is fine and dont be shy, just send me everyone in party with first names and they will have your dis name on tag with real name.

Ok bethany and I are going to Animal Kingdom , one benefit of living in Florida :) Going to go to Downtown Disney and see what I can see for gifts too :)
Everyone have a good sunday and be back tonight!

Just remember that no matter how you plan your FE, there will always be a family or 2 who at the last minute will find the Dis Boards and want to be a part of the FE's...it will all work out, but it is still really early..sounds like you have it well under control:thumbsup2. Hats off to you for taking on the organizing:flower3:

Lucky you:)..we've done 3 4 -night cruises and I just dumped our July 11th 2010 5 night cruise for this one.if I travel to Nassau one more time I will scream:scared1:..sounds like a great itinerary to hit Costa Rica and 200 pages, you may have 200 on your FE list for that cruise:cool1:

I may be screaming on Sept 21st since thats when our final payment is due ands its not far after we get back from this one! On the PC cruise too there was only like 250 kids since it was during school and the kids clubs werent full at all. Its funny the adults are Disneyholics more then the kids!

I think you got a much better deal on this one :)

I have been working on lanyard and FE lists but there are about 22 people who posted in the begining or after and havent signed on the website or said they want to be in on things so im emailing them and seeing whats up

Heather, Do you have us down for the lanyards? I wrote you before but have not heard from you yet.
Thanks for all your hard work on everything. We also have our cruise shirts!:)
