May 26, 2010--5/26/2010 10 Night Mediterranean

There are character breakfasts on 7 day or longer cruises, and you do not sign up for it, they assign you. You will receive tickets in your stateroom for this event. If you are 1st dining, you get assigned the early breakfast, and if you are 2nd dining, you get the later time. The only thing I'm not sure of is how they will do it over 3 days to accomodate everyone since we have only 2sea days.

You do have to sign up for tea with Alice - tickets are given out at guest services I believe. Its not real tea, its lemonade and cookies from what I read in trip reports. Geared for the kids but alot of adults go, even without kids. :goodvibes

I have never been able to drag my daughter to either of these in five cruises. LOL. I think I will go by myself this time.

I think you are flying out on the 22nd and I am spending one night at the airport and then flying out on the 23rd. I really don't want to miss that plane. ;)

Oh thats right. Well, one month from today, we'll be racing around the city of London, trying to do a HOHO bus, Tower of London, Hamley's and maybe Madame Tussauds, all before we completely crash in our cozy hotel near Paddington Station.

Hello everyone! We are hopefully booking this cruise in the next couple of days!
Me, DW, DD 10, DD 3, DS 1

This will be our 6th Disney Cruise (except for DS it will be his 2nd)

We will be travelling with my wife's parents (their 4th Disney Cruise).

Hope to see you on board!

I don't think my daughters will want to go either but I'm not gonna miss it!!:cool1:

Well I don't understand what it is, but I would attend with either one of you..there is an awful lot of testosterone in our room. It would be nice to actually do something "girly":)

:rotfl2: Mari, we were talking about the character breakfast and tea with Alice onboard! You know you are welcome to join us!! I love character breakfasts!! ;)

We are just waiting for my FIL to get his offer for his new job, then we book! He was supposed to get it today, but there is some delay...

Just wanted to say hello.

DW and I will be sailing on our 7th DCL cruise. This is our first Med cruise as well as our first time in Europe.

We thought we'd try learning some Italian in the hopes we'll be able to manage basic communication by the time we sail. Anyone else decided to learn another language solely for this cruise?

See you onboard.

Welcome!! I have a friend that is sending me a few common phrases in Spanish, Italian and French so hopefully that will help. Not attempting to learn the language at this point just enough to get where we want to go and get my husband a beer :rotfl2:Once I get the phrases etc, I will post on our website.

You may want to check out our website-see below at the end of my signature as well as our facebook group: http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=277870927901&v=wall&ref=ts. Lots of great info and resources there!

The tea with Alice sounds adorable... where do you sign up? I'll go with you, Mari.

So we get automatically assigned to character breakfasts? I'm not sure I know how that works. We did it once at WDW when the kids were 6 and 3 at the castle and they loved it. The best moment was when Mary Poppins came over and talked to DS (who was 3 at the time). She asked him (with a proper British accent), "and what was your favorite part of my movie?" and he said, "Harry Potter." :rotfl2: Without a blink, she said, "oh yes, he's a very nice English lad."

Wish the rest of that day had gone as well. DH insisted on going into "Snow White's Scary Ride" even though I told him all the tour books said it truly was scary and not good for little kids... but he wanted to go because it had a short line. Sure enough, DS was freaked out and crying for much of the remainder of the day. He refused to go on any indoor rides (like "It's a Small World" and "Peter Pan's Adventure"). Sigh. Good times! :rotfl:

And yes, my hubby's punishment for that was that he got to wait outside with DS while I took DD on all of the cool indoor rides. He should have listened to me!!!!

Guest services will have tickets for tea with Alice, first come first serve basis.
You will have an assigned sea day for your breakfast. Since you are 1st dining, I think it starts at 8am, and the 2nd dining starts at around 9:30am. But with 3 dining rotations, I am not sure how they will manage the 3rd day, or maybe they will do 3 breakfasts in one day? :confused3 The character breakfasts are held in Parrot Cay only, not all 3 restaurants, that's why it normally takes 3 days to hold them all. We should have some insight to how its done on the May 5th cruise as they are also a 10 night with only 2 sea days.

got my documents today. it came by regular mail. didnt it in the pass come by ups or fedex?
