May 26, 2010--5/26/2010 10 Night Mediterranean

Hi Bill! I was just wondering what day you have your anniversary? We are celebrating our 25th Anniversary also and were married on June 8. Are you traveling as a couple?

Congratulations on a great upgrade. Disney is taking good care of a lot of us. :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

NO WAY! Us too...it's our 25th on the 8th also! Hmmm...sounds like we need a party!

Yes, they are...I think I'll call and say thanks next week....what upgrade did you get?

Liz

We're a family of 4 from North Carolina. DS is 11 and DD will turn 9 during the cruise. For convenience we've booked the ABD add-on. Has anyone else on the boards booked this package?

Welcome aboard vpandkids!!!:welcome: There is a family on our facebook page who mentioned there that they are doing ABD add-on. Come join us there too if you haven't already! :goodvibes

Hi Liz! That is amazing! We got married on the same day! :bride: So cool. We were so fortunate to be upgraded from Cat 12 - 9, Room 2022 - very happy. It'll be nice to have a view.

We are part of the Party on Deck 2 group. A party is definitely in order. We are traveling without kids. This will be the first cruise without them...and seriously, I can't wait! There comes a time when you have to do things as a couple again. (This one is a doozy (sp?).:banana::banana:

We honeymooned at WDW. Where did you go?

Peggy

GA-yaya.....June was a wonderful month for cruisers on the Disney Magic! lol We are celebrating our 30th anniversary on June 7,and we honeymooned at WDW! Magic Kingdom was the only park back in the "stone ages" when we got married! lol Would be nice to pick one night and celebrate at one of the clubs! There are several couples over on the Facebook page that are celebrating the anniversaries too! WAHOO! :yay::banana::cool1::cheer2:

Peggy, it's so true. Adam and I went by ourselves on a Med cruise in 2007 (celebrating our 15th anniversary) and it was so nice to just be by ourselves and only have to take care of ourselves. Of course this time around, it's a big family trip so it will be a very different trip. But you'll love having this time with just the two of you.

Well it looks llike Chris and I were blessed with some pixie dust. We got cabin 2036 which means we were upgraded to a cat 9 from a cat 12 as well. We will be joining the rest of the group on the 2nd deck party floor! It might be a bit noisey in our room though because I think it is right under the clubs. I will just get some earplugs so I can sleep, cause there is no way I am going to complain about having a nice big window in my room. I am really excited about the upgrade and now I am so ready to start packing and go.

We cruised...on NCL...not Disneyfied cruisers yet! LOL

That's funny! :rotfl2:
You may be after this cruise, we'll see.

Do all of the anniversary celebrants have 2nd dining? (We do.) If so, maybe we could arrange a meeting/group party one evening in one of the clubs after dinner. That could be a lot of fun. Great idea Debra! :thumbsup2

We have 1st dining but could probably arrange something that night to join you all!! Let me know if you do arrange this and I will add this meet to the website as well!!

One of the most fun club nights is the "match your mate" game night. It is usually on the first night (will have to see when the first Med cruisers come back and post their navigators.) There is also a crew talent show that is hilarious! I'm sure there will be lots of additional evening club entertainment programs since this is longer cruise! Heidi and the 1st dining group can get to the clubs and save some seats for those of us eating 2nd! :thumbsup2 The popular shows do get crowded!

Another thought is for some to consider linking dining if you are traveling as a couple. You can try to request a table for 2 (let DCL know now if that is your request), but most often you will be paired with another random couple or other sets of couples or other groups at a 4 or 6 top. Since excursions run late, it will be harder to sit by yourself as a couple since 2nd dining is the more popular on this cruise (its the opposite on the caribbean cruises since more families travel and less later ports). I think all the tables are set up for at least 4 people. We sat as a group of 9 on our last cruise (we linked 3 cabins), and each night sat at different seats to get to know the person sitting next to us better. Tables can be as large as 18 but I think that is almost too big.

Thanks Taina - that is some good information to know. I will work on putting something together. One more question - to "let DCL know" do I call them or how do I go about doing this?

On our last Disney cruise a few years ago, we were seated at a table for 4 (2nd dining) because we were traveling as a family of 4. Now, our kids NEVER ate with us. On the 2nd night, a nearby table of 8 (3 separate families) invited us to join them. One of the table party never ate with us, so we had a rockin' party of 9 at our table. We had the most fun with them. Each evening was spent discussing what we had done during the day, and our plans for the next day. We had a great time and were grateful that they invited us to join them. This was also the table that was surprised to see that we, in fact, did have children on the 7th & final night of the cruise. They were able to squeeze in at the table, and we had a great time. My son was 16 at the time and easily made friends with one of the young men that was there on his honeymoon - much mischief happened on that end of the table that night. :lmao:

Okay, let's see who would be interested in linking up at dining. Let me know and we'll see what we can do. Please include which dining you have chosen (1st or 2nd) and maybe your room number? We'll figure this out. :thumbsup2

Yes, sitting with a group can be alot of fun! My DD made friends with another girl before the cruise, and her family and I pm'ed and emailed each other ahead of time, then I got their full names and DCL ressie #'s (you will need this info to link dining) once we agreed to dine together. I forwarded this info to my TA. If you booked direct, you can call DCL directly. My DD still talks about how nice it was sharing dinners with them. We also wound up sharing an excurion with them too!

I would do this thru PM's and emails and not share your DCL ressie #'s on the boards. :goodvibes

Thank for all the help Taina. :worship: We booked directly so I will give them a call when I get this all put together.

We're at 1st dining, so we can't join in.

But if you want to set up something for the anniversary crowd, let me know... I'll even see if we can get my parents to come along. I think their 50th is the biggest one I've seen on the boards so far!

The Brunswick Family has changed their dining to second seating. I am not sure how to correct it on the roll call.

OK, after much research and help from you all, I have all our tours planned in all the ports! Yeah!!

We're off tomorrow for San Antonio for a week, but when I get back I'll be right back at planning. Still need to find out and read on facebook all about excursion bags, changing dollars to Euros, etc, etc, etc...

I am getting beyond excited here!!!!

I bet you made a big sigh of relief after all the port planning was done. It's a good feeling.
Have a good trip to San Antonio!
