Yeah!! Count me in- Patti, John (DH), Eric (17), Matthew (14) and Nicole (12). I can not wait. We have 2 porthole connecting rooms on deck 2 so am not sure what category that is. We have not been on Disney cruise since 2004 when we were stuck in a hurricane and extended our cruise and we loved it!!!! I am beyond excited!! We have left out of NY on 3 other cruises and really like it. We are hoping my inlaws and sister in law join us they will be celebrating their wedding anniversary. I can't wait to meet everyone!!!

Good morning, everyone :sunny:

Welcome Heidi, Robb, and Patti. Welcome aboard :boat:

Patti, were you on the 10-night hurricane cruise in 2004? We were on that one, and it was quite the experience.

Heidi, I will join you on your weight loss endeavor. DH and I have done South Beach in the past and loved it, and got excellent results. DH has kept off all of his weight, but I've gained a lot back. :headache: So I am ready to get back on the "Beach". LOL

Hey everyone,

I'm Seaspray's DS 19, gonna be 21 on the cruise. Just scraped together my pennies to put down the deposit for Monday! Anyways, my name is Robb and my DGF is Chelsea. My mom's probably going to talk her into coming onto the DISBoards too so she'll probably be around.

I've been on the Magic twice before ('04 and '06), DGF's been on a non-Disney cruise before. She's a huge Disney fanatic so if it weren't for that fact we'd probably not be going.:rotfl2: But I digress, I'm really looking forward to going next May, a nice "one year left of college!" gift to myself!

Right now we're booked in an 11b, never been in one before. I've been in a deluxe inside and a verandah cabin before, so that'll be new too!

Looking forward to it everyone!

How cool ... your first cruise where you'll be able to go to Palo and the Quiet Cove, etc!

We will be joining all of you, just moved our dummy reservation and paid the extra deposit!!!
we will be in 2 connecting 9A rooms. I would love 2 cat 11 rooms but Im a bit claustrophobic. This is the most we have ever paid for a vacation so I have some anxiety about the cost but at least we wont need to pay air for 5 people!
:dance3:
ME-Heidi (31 at time of sailing)
DH-Jamie (29)
DD-Alyssa (14)
DD-Lily (just shy of 6)
DS-Mason (4 1/2)
:dance3:
We did our 1st cruise in Feb on the Dream for my bday and loved it!!!
We wanted to take the kids on a 3nt to break them in but I guess they will be jumping in with both feet.
I hope to be skinny by the trip and if I can lose 7lbs a month until then I will be my ideal weight! The elliptical was just delivered and now I have to start meal planning. Anyone with me???? Im going to start on South Beach Monday.

I hope we can get to know each other, put the kids in the club and have a few drinks in the hot tub!!

I will also join you in your weight loss endeavor! I can do a fad diet and lose, but my problem is mtce. Mike and I just bought a DMT (dynamic motion trainer: elliptical, glider, stepper type thing). We love it. I am hoping that this life change with more exercise will help instead of relying on diets. I think I'm just going to be more mindful of portion control. I have been carrying around an extra 20/25 pounds for a while. Sadly, I've grown used to it.

Me and DGF just payed the deposit!:yay:

I think I'm going to switch my reservation over to Dreams though for the onboard credit, seems like the cool thing to do nowadays since I'm directly through DCL as of now.:lmao: Just spent time with DGF showing her the deck plans and where our room is, as well as videos and pics of the sideways cabins. She's so excited! I can still remember all of these places and can't wait for her to see them herself.

She's especially excited about the lounges and food (she's a pastry chef and lovesss to dance) so I have a feeling we're going to be getting fat from eating and then dancing it all off!

What's everyone looking forward to especially?

:cool1:

I just paid my deposit too!!

I had holds from Disney but decided to go to Small World vacations to receive the OBC! :)

YAY!!!!! :woohoo: :yay:  It's going to be a lot of fun, Robby and Chelsea!!!

Robby, you'll finally get to go to Palo. You and Chelsea will love the food there, especially the brunch. :cool2:

Ok, to answer your question, I'm looking forward to the sea days because they're so relaxing. Hanging out at the Quiet Cover pool (which isn't really so quiet, necessarily. LOL), then grabbing food and bringing it back poolside.

John and I will get Chelsea hooked on the specialty coffees in the Cove Cafe! :thumbsup2

I'm also looking forward to the restaurants. As you know, we've been on Royal Caribbean cruises, and one thing that I LOVE about DCL over the other cruise lines is the rotational dining. I love not being at the same table in the same restaurant every single night. And I love that your servers travel with you to the different restaurants.

I know how much Chelsea loves Disney, so I know that she will LOVE everything about a Disney cruise. :thumbsup2

P.S. I'll bring home the form for you to sign in order to transfer the reservation over to Dreams Unlimited. Then I'll fax it over to them, along with ours.

Jodie: What does "mtce" stand for???

My name is Nancy. My 20 year old DS will NOT be with us this cruise, just DH, DS 17 and DD 13....just to update our listing.

Wow, everyone is paying their deposits!

I am most looking forward to ... NOT flying to meet the ship! Maybe for the first time ever we will participate in a FE exchange, lol.

Terry, I am sorry. I work in telecommunications operations, and "mtce" is the lingo for maintenance. Sometimes I forget I'm not at work.

Thanks! I'm the same way, unfortunately. lol

Sea Spray yes we were on that cruise! We had a great time and can't wait for this one!!

It was our first Disney cruise, and we had a blast! After I asked you if you had been on that cruise, I remembered that you were. The older I get, the worse my memory is. lol

I cant wait for my kids to see the ship, we go to Disney often but they have never been on a "mickey boat"
DH and I will be dreaming about the food for the next year!

I would love to do the FE since DH and I didnt do it on our Dream cruise but I think we will have to much stuff to bring to worry about the "extras"

Has anyone traveled with 2 preschoolers and a tween before? I think were going to have 5 large suitcases, a double stroller and a book bag. Im not sure where were going to store it all or how were going to manage everything at the port. Any suggestions?

Sea Spray you know whats funny? We were the ones who didn't tell our kids ad surprised them that morning!! We loved that cruise, and are back!! When I told my friends, they said," Watch this be the first time a hurricane hits in May!" I told them I will take anything if it extends my trip!!!!:cool1::cool1:

This thread is growing nicely, which is great to see. I really hope to take part in a Fish Extender, we did it on our cruise this year and absolutely loved it.

Am hoping someone a bit more technically minded than me offers to start it off, don't think I'd be very good at collating all the info and doing spreadsheets etc.

I have to wait until May 1st this year until I can put my annual leave request in at work for next year, hope they say yes or I'll be gutted!

I always plan my vacations far in advance. Thus I never have a problem getting my choice in dates. Well this only works when the person who wants your dates is not your boss. My boss has decided to go on vacation next year in celebration of her hubby's birthday on May 25th.

Looks like I have to reschedule for a different week. Even thought I have only known you guys a few weeks, I know we would have had a great time.

We leave in 18 days on Carnival out of NYC and can't wait!! Then I can focus on the Magic:)

I checked our prices and our room went up $300. Glad I booked right away!

Oh no! So sorry to hear this. Maybe your boss will change her mind or you'll have a new boss before the cruise?! Sorry to see you go. :sad1:

Does anyone else who posted on the first page want to take over our roll call? Did I post on the first page? Maybe I can do it.

I just checked our room, and it is still the same price. I guess it depends on the category of room booked? Odd that some categories go up and not others. :confused3

Linymom, lmk how you like Carnival. We are doing the Caribbean Princess on 5/26 out of NYC. Can't wait!

I don't have any good advice for traveling with pre-schoolers. Are you driving to the port yourselves? I'm going to try and keep luggage to a minimum (famous last words. lol), because I always hate having so much to deal with when we travel.

Patti, that really was quite the cruise, and honestly as far as pure adventure goes, none of our trips have come close to that experience! LOL Maybe thats a good thing?? LOL I have to say that we always felt safe and informed during that cruise. I did feel badly for the cruise after ours, though. And of course the people whose homes and lives were effected from that hurricane.

I hope we don't have a hurricane next May! LOL I have been on more than a few hurricane vacations though. LOL First one was the cruise and Hurricane Frances, then in 2005 we were at WDW during Hurricane Dennis, then in November 2007 our Royal Caribbean was effected during a hurricane (can't remember the name). Maybe *I* am the bad luck?? J/k!

I hope that you're able to get vacation time for next May. You'll know in a couple of weeks. I hope you get good news!! :cheer2:

Oh no, I'm really sorry to hear this. :( I also am someone who likes to plan vacations in advance; it's just a shame that this cruise coincides with your boss' husband's birthday. We'll miss you!

Our cruise price hasn't changed either. But I'm happy that we booked now because I like the cabin that we ended up with. :)

Jodie, if you're willing to take over the roll call, I'm happy to have you do that. :)

Thank you for the well wishes. Normally, it would not be too big a deal. There are three of us in the office. But she is wanting to take him to France and she doesn't want 2/3 of the office out of the country at one time.
