May 25, 2012 - Magical 8-night cruise - NYC to the Bahamas!

We just booked last week. We were originally booked on the Aug 5th 5N to Canada, but when I told my mother the temperatures for Halifax in August she said "And I AGREED to that?" And since the school gave us the entire week of Memorial week off since we didn't use any snow days, I switched!

We booked an IGT. We've sailed on the Magic before and don't mind inside cabins too much. Anyone book one of the guarantees? I'm starting to check every day to see if our rooms have been assigned yet. Anyone get their guarantee stateroom assignment?

For this cruise, it will be:

Me the Mommy
Daughter age 9
Grandmom (she just survived a heart attack in the fall, and turned 70 in April, and this is how we're going to celebrate!)

We're making T-shirts that have "Out to Sea...Just Us Three" on it for boarding day.

Can't wait for 4 sea days! Most other cruises prefer the island hopping, but our favorite has always been our relaxing at-sea days.

My kids (age 6, 6, and 2) don't know yet. We've kept it a secret since Nov. when we booked. I'm not sure when I'm going to tell them. I think I'll have to tell them before because one of my boys gets a bit anxious and if I don't tell him, he may spend the first few days processing.

So, now I'm thinking I may just tell them we are cruising, but not mention the Disney part and surprise them when they see the boat!

Captain Mickey and Mini Mouse are leaving her a notecard with her fruit and flowers the first day of the cruise, so I was wondering if you guys could help with dropping a card off from the rest of the Disney gang to Nana?

Just say which character you will "be" on here and that way there will be no duplicates!

No special cards, just something fun. No special holiday card. Just "have a great time", "you're special", those kind of cards- addressed to Nana.

You guys are the best! This will surely be something she (and we) remember forever. You can drop them off any time at the door and she will keep getting surprises!

Can't believe how quick it is coming! Also can't believe just how close we are to end of school! Ugghhh! I don't think I'm ready for my kids to be home for summer vacation!

Hi everyone! I don't know about you, but I'm just giddy about the cruise being so close. The good thing about DISboards is that we get that taste of being on vacation even when we aren't! I've devoted so much time to planning, making lists, researching and making Fish Extender gifts . . . it feels like part of me is already on the crusie! And my kids have it too. Seems all their written themes, journaling, art and even technology/computer projects are about Disney cruising! Must drive the teachers crazy! Anyone else on the same high?

Is there a name for this feeling? I guess we could call it "Magic"?

This ius my sons firts cruise and were going with his godparents and there boys who are on the FE.... I dont want my son to feel left out on such a special trip...
