May 25, 2012 - Magical 8-night cruise - NYC to the Bahamas!

SeaSpray--I'll check with my family tomorrow. There are 13 of us and I don't know if everyone will be coming to the party. We'll all be together for my daughter's First Communion, so I'll check with them and let you know!

I was also surprised about the Character Breakfast! That is great!! Also, someone mentioned Tea with Alice? Any more details on that would be great!!

Padalyn--congrats on the engagement! That is wonderful!! You mentioned "ducky prints" in one of your responses...what are those?

Getting very excited!! Not looking forward to packing 5 people...it's going to be very challenging for me. I am a habitual "over-packer", lol!!!

Hi Stephanie!

There are 4 of us, and packing IS a challenge. However, having 5 means you can take more luggage! For example, Mommy's shoes can take up empty space in the kid's suitcase . . . hee hee! I don't know whether you're flying into NY or not - if so, you can check 5 bags. But my recommendation is to be sure that some of them are collapsable because though suitcases do fit under the bed, there's only room for about 2 big ones. If you take two large suit cases with rigid sides that don't flatten, you can fit 3 large duffel bags inside those. That's how we do it. Yes, there's room in the closet, but we usually need that room for other things.

Good luck packing everyone!

Susan

Thank you, Susan!

Fortunately, we will be driving (we are from northern Delaware)...which may be unfortunate for my luggage...at least I would have some restrictions from the airlines, lol!!

That does bring up a point, though. Are there weight limits for the luggage on the cruise? I also need to check into those carry-on alcohol restrictions :bitelip:

How formal are you guys dressing for formal night? I actually am thinking of really dressing up - maybe a floor length dress and maybe even a tux for my DH and DS. I'd love to see my cute little boy in a tux.

Will we be out of place. What is everyone wearing?

PS
Seaspray - sent you an email to add us to the green lei list. Too late for FEs but so glad to be on the boat.

Sorry for lurking. I am not leaving until August 17 and your thread is so much more active than ours. I am hoping that someone will report back on the ugrade opportunities at the terminal. I really want to upgrade to a verandha but I can't say I want to pay the current price.

Have a great time!!!

I don't think we are going to formal night - semi probably... I am not one for long dresses and to lug 2 tuxes as well, eeek!:duck:

Might be a dumb question, we are signed up for the FE under one cabin, If I upgrade at the dock, erhmm, what do I do to let everyone know.

I didn't even think of that... uhoh!

georgette, don't let not going in tux's etc put you off formal night. Some people dress up, some people go in ordinary clothes, and there is people dressed in every kind of variation in between!

I will wear a dress, but it won't be a floor length or ball gown type affair, it will just be a simple dress that I can probably wear to semi-formal too. Nothing too dressy (well, in fairness, wearing a dress is dressy for me, but I'm sure you know what I mean!).

As for changing cabin numbers due to upgrade etc, perhaps you could tell people at the meet and greet? Thats the only way I can think off to let me know.

Am currently battling with the printer - some of my FE stuff involves iron on transfers, and the printing stage is not going well as my printer keep chewing up paper. Arghhhh!

eeeek... I had the Cabana #17 and let it go when someone here on the boards said it was available.
Duh -- now my other family members want to split the cost and I got rid of it! LOL

Bad me!! Wonder if it'll pop up anytime soon - anyone have one they are not keeping ;)

:artist: I also see that there is NO Cabana 13 and 16... they are missing :D

Hey! I have cabana #17! When did u have it?? I also saw the post from one of our cruise mates - I think it was only a couple hours later that I went on and it was available. Did u book and cancel right away? If we change our minds u will b the first to know. My friend told me I HAD to get one if I could.

Yup. I had it for a couple hours at least, then said to self.. hmm! lots of money do I wanna spend it.. lol

So I released it :((

PPAL - aka Phyllis told me today, she'd love one - oh well, snooze you lose! LOL :)

Yes, pls, if you get rid of it, or anyone else on this board, I know there aren't many of them available and they go fast.
