May 25, 2012 - Magical 8-night cruise - NYC to the Bahamas!

:thumbsup2

Good for you --- I'm going to cancel our Tedden Edo reservation for that day ... We are unsure which park we are going too - I think we might just end up at at WDW, probably easier.

Was there alot of availability? Like what time?

We've never done a character breakfast or any meal that had a character... Might be the time to do it - my daughter will be 9 ...

Thanks! :)

We just made our breakfast reservations for Cinderella's Royal Table for our day at WDW. My daughter is so excited princess:.

I wanted to do breakfast so we will not be worried the entire day about getting there in time, but I also did not want to be too stressed about what time the shuttle will arrive. So we went for 10:00 am breakfast. We were a party of 3 and when I did a brief check yesterday there were times available for breakfast, lunch, and dinner (which really surprised my TA who thought we wouldn't be able to get a reservation since they opened for that date a month ago). I went back and forth about it since we will be seeing plenty of characters on the boat, but Emma really wanted to eat inside the Castle. I figured I would splurge and do it since we are not paying additional for the tickets to the park and it is the day before her birthday.

I considered making reservations for somewhere for dinner, but since it is the only day we are going to be there I didn't want to spend the entire time sitting in restaurants. Figure we can do counter service for dinner.

Hmm!! I signed in, saw nothing - but then again, We are booked with a Travel Agent, maybe thats why - I've emailed her.

I just re-priced our cruise - same category up $500.00 .. deluxe oceanview is $900.00 more!

I know what you mean about the pricing. We really wanted connecting oceanviews, but there was none left, so we currently have connecting insides. I was just pricing connecting balconies and it was unbelievable how much the difference was!!

So now we are trying to decide between keeping the 2 insides that connect or switching to one balcony with the inside across the way. It's pretty much the same cost for each and there are definite pluses to each. Decisions, decisions!!

At least we'll be on a cruise, which beats being home any day!

I totally agree with you!!!

We are keeping insides, they are not connecting though.. My Mom will be in one and me in the other and our friends will be about 4 cabins up from us... on the same Deck which is nice!

We are planning on putting one adult and two kids in one room and one adult and 1 kid in the other room, so connecting will make things way easier. If we didn't want connecting, there are a few oceanview that are left, but i figure it's easier with small children to allow them to pass between the two rooms without going outside.

I think we are just going to stay where we are, unless connecting oceanview open up when final payment comes around.

Can't believe it's only 20 weeks away!:cool1:

I would love connecting, but when we booked there was none - only side by sides...

I'd love to have my daughter walk in and out of my mom's room amnd also the extra bath space would be nice too!

Very interesting, my Mom rec'd an email from Disney today too regarding PC day - I haven't gotten anything. Checked Spam, still nothing.

I got two emails from them today as well. But since my booking window doesn't open to Feb., I didn't check it out. Odd that you didn't get one. Is your booking linked to hers? Mine listed my reservation and the room that's under my husbands name.

Anyone concerned about lovebugs the day we're at Disney World?

Last year, we left on our cruise mid-May and the lovebugs were so thick in Florida, they coated the windshield of the bus from Orlando to Cape Canaveral. The awesome deck party was cancelled as we left port because of the bugs. Everyone had to stay INSIDE and the deck party was postponed until the next night when we pulled out of Castaway Cay. What if the bugs are there on our day at Disney World? Has anyone else had experience with the pesky love bugs?

I've been to WDW many times while the love bugs were around. The only thing that I don't like is that they squish too easily. :lmao:

I wonder if there was an unusually big crop of love bugs last year while you were there?? I'm really surprised that they'd move the sail away party indoors (except for bad weather) due to so many love bugs.

Georgette: Love bugs don't bite; they're just a nuisance, sort of like a gnat. They're larger than a gnat and they tend to fly around in tandem, hence the name "love bugs". Two of them attach at the hips, then fly around together like that.

Hi Everyone!
Just wanted to quickly introduce myself to the group! My family and I will be traveling with you all in May! There are 13 of us...8 adults and 5 children, who will range in age from 2 to 8, at the time of the sailing. Most of us have cruised before, but never on a Disney ship. We are all very excited!!

Quick question...we will definitely be visiting the Magic Kingdom on our day in Orlando. For those of you who have cruised with Disney before...what characters can we expect to meet on the ship? I want to book a character dining experience while we are at the park, but didn't want a repeat of the ones that we will already be meeting on the ship. Thanks for the advice!

Also, could someone invite me to the FB page? I tried to PM someone from this thread, but was told that I was unable to do so because I haven't posted at least 10 times? Thank you!

Stephanie

Welcome Stephanie :)

I just copied this from the Disney Cruise Line web site:

Character Greetings
Location: Disney Magic At a Glance
Location: Throughout the Ship
Duration: Not Specified
Show Times: Varies daily; please check the Personal Navigator while onboard for specific dates and times.
Character Greetings, where children and adults can meet and greet Disney Characters, occur throughout the Disney Magic, both in designated places and during special surprises appearances.

You don't have to visit a Disney Park to meet and greet your favorite Disney Characters. Disney Characters love to cruise, too! Be on the look-out for many of your pals—including Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Cinderella, Captain Hook and more—as they make their way both around the ship and at designated places.

Say hello and shake hands with Cinderella, Snow White and Stitch. Share warm hugs and hearty laughs with Peter Pan and Alice in Wonderland. Receive one-of-a-kind autographs from the likes of Donald Duck and Daisy Duck. And pose alongside and snap pictures so you can be sure to remember your special time together after your cruise is over.

Although subject to change, Disney Characters during your cruise may include:
Mickey Mouse
Minnie Mouse
Donald Duck
Daisy Duck
Chip & Dale
Goofy
Pluto
Max
Captain Hook
Peter Pan
Lilo
Stitch
Cinderella
Belle
Snow White
Princess Aurora
Princess Tiana
Ariel
Captain Jack Sparrow
Dopey

Designated Character Greetings ship locations include:
Lobby Atrium
Deck 4 Midship
Gangway
Goofy's Pool Stage
Deck 4, Balcony
Walt Disney Theatre
Disney's Oceaneer Lab
Disney's Oceaneer Club

Some locales are designated as photos only. At these places, autographs will not be allowed due to time constraints. Please check with the onsite Character escort for more information.

Character Greetings are available throughout the day. Check the Personal Navigator—the Disney Cruise Line daily newsletter detailing all there is to see and do—once onboard the ship for a schedule of Disney Character appearances. You can also dial 7-PALS from your stateroom phone or check the message board in the Lobby Atrium for more details about Character Greetings.

Princess Autograph Session
Available once per cruise, Disney Princesses—including Cinderella and Snow White—make a scheduled appearance in the Lobby Atrium for autographs, pictures and hugs. Be sure to check the Personal Navigator—the Disney Cruise Line daily newsletter detailing all there is to see and do onboard the ship—to see who is scheduled to appear, in addition to specific dates and times.

Till We Meet Again Party
Till We Meet Again is a 30-minute event located on Decks 3 and 4 in the Lobby Atrium, Midship, that begins approximately at 10:00 p.m. the night before Debarkation Day. Available on all Disney cruises, this final farewell reception lets you share goodbye hugs and snap some last-minute pictures of your favorite Disney Characters, Disney Cruise Crew Members and stars of the Disney Cruise Line Live Shows before your cruise vacation draws to an end.

Welcome Stephanie! Glad that your group will be participating! The list that SeaSpray provided from the website seems pretty accurate. We cruised on the Disney Dream last year and saw most of those characters. If you are planning on spending your day at the Magic Kingdom, you might want to book Crystal Palace. That is where the Winnie the Pooh characters are. You will definitely NOT see any of them on the ship.

Welcome Aboard Stephanie!

Hope to chat soon .. I'm off back to bed, sinus infection is kicking my butt!! :lmao:

:)

Hello,

I am saddened to say. I had to postpone the cruise until May of next year :sad1: Some things came up that we are unable to go. I hope all of you have a great time. It was really nice corresponding with everyone.
