May 24th 2012 3 night Dream cruise!!!

Hi everyone! Starting a thread so we can see who else will be cruising with us! My family is in cabin 9174 and 9176, my mom and aunt are in 9172 and in laws got the lucky corner cabin in 10158...

We're on the same cruise too. We have rooms 10166, 10164 and my sister is in 10162. It's our first cruise ever.

Glad you will be sailing with us. Sorry I haven't posted before! I lost the thread and had to go looking for it.

Did everyone have a good 4th? We are crazy-busy. Our oldest starts kindergarten this year and with our local school system, we have decided to homeschool. We are going to do this thing! We had furniture delivered yesterday to rearrange rooms, and hopefully our books will arrive in the next few days.

What is going on with everyone else?

WooHoo Finally under the 300 day mark. Now my hubby can stop shaking his head at me saying okay hun it's still a year away calm down. LOL Hope everyone is enjoying their summer.

We are getting close to the 250 day mark! So fun, especially when we have been waiting over a year for it!

School started back here a while back. We homeschool and started Aug. 1. It is our first year and I am loving it!

How are things going with everyone?

OMG only 6 months left this time is going by so fast it was over a year ago that we started planning our trip and now it's just a mere 6 months away. Our kids have been back in school for two months now. They have three breaks coming up before our cruise, Thanksgiving break, Christmas break, Spring break then our trip. Yaaay.

We will be on this cruise as well! Myself (Brandi 33), The DH Scott (48) and our DS Connor (8) We have sailed DCL the last 3 years every fall on the 4 night cruises. We just got off the Dream in October and had decided beforehand not to rebook while on board like we always had...becasue we had decided that we were going on the Carnival Sensation (Gasp! I know!!) in Oct 2012 with our best friends and their children. But with them as a family of 5, they couldnt afford DCL and so we all decided for their 1st crusie ever, CCL would be okay.... and we would just make the best of it. What were we thinking...we havent even been yet and Im freaking out about how much this is NOT going to be a DCL...

Well, short version is that we still are going on that one, but we are REALLY bummed to be missing The Dream....so we decided this week that next year Oct 2013, we are taking them on a proper cruise with us (DCL!!) and paying for it...it will be a great Christmas present this year!! and will give us some peace of mind knowing that if the CCL cruise is bad, we will have not long before we are all back on DCL..and them for the 1st time....LOL....

So, looking forward to this trip in May as a quick weekend getaway....and any suggestions on how to suprise this family of 5 with the news at Christmas that next fall they will be on DCL on a 4 night cruise?

That is sooooooo AWESOME!!!!! Wow I wanted to surprise my brother and his family and take them on a cruise with us in May too but we just couldn't swing it this time. I was going to book their room and plane tickets and print out the reservations along with a homemade gift certificate and put them in a HUGE box for them to open as a family at Christmas. No matter how you present it to them, your friends are going to be forever grateful and I'm sure it will be a vacation they'll never forget.

Woohoo! Two weeks from tomorrow I get to check in for our first leg, and then a few days later I get to check us in for this one!

Just subbing in. DH and I are celebrating our 15th anniversary and taking this cruise without the kids. We are in 5542.
