May 24, 2014 Alaskan 9 night Wonder

We're in 6049, but will see if there is another cabin available when we get to port. I sent a note to Moondaughter, who said that she'll be at the Meet & Greet with pre-prepped slips of paper to update staterooms. For those who cannot be at the Meet & Greet, she'll post something on her cabin door with updated cabin information on the first night (only).

Can't wait to be on-board! See you soon.

Cross posting on FB group:

Okie dokie. JUST off the phone with Justine from DCL calling me on behalf of an email I sent off to Karl Holz with praise, gripe and clarification.

Bottom line is, we ARE leaving from Ballantyne (we figured as much) and YES the shuttle buses from Canada Place to other pier is free for EVERYONE not just people paying for parking. She is not certain where they will be picking up at but believes Howe St corner (?). She believes they will start about 9:30.

She also gave me a contact number for embarkation services should anyone need it (I made sure I could share this!). If you get to Canada Place and for some reason cannot locate the shuttles then call this number for them to help you 800-395-9374

She said no info is available at this time on formal or semiformal nights. Repeat NO INFO on formal and semiformal nights (she even said Pixar night could change!).

Now let's get on to Saturday people :)

Not long now. Looks like the weather will be warmer than I originally thought. Can't wait for Saturday.

Hi everyone This is going to be a long post from long winded me. :-) I posted (almost) the same thing on FB so for some of you this will be double info. I may not be able to respond to comments once I sign off tonight but I wanted to check in at least once more. Of course now that I say that I will probably check in from the airport and see this post only provided info for the crickets and will be incredibly embarrassing for me. Ha ha! So I had an everything that could go wrong did go wrong kind of week including my laptop dying on me (so happy for clouds and that I live by flash drives) and having a panic attack about my flight to Vancouver almost wasn't available to me. I called Alaska Airlines. Because of code-sharing issues and other i's and t's not done on the airline's end the website wouldn't let me check in for my flight which leaves Thursday afternoon. I spent an hour on the phone the first time and it was supposedly fixed. Then 20 mins the second time and the problem was thankfully truly fixed. Anyway I apologize to the FE folk that I was MIA and unavailable to help with stateroom numbers. I promise it was not intentional. I just had only seconds for social media which is not enough time and the information was not in front of me. I very much enjoyed seeing my family last weekend and getting the wonderful goodies they brought us from Germany. I was so sad to leave them. Then it was a mad rush of problem after problem and rushing to get all the last minute stuff done for this trip among all the other things that went wrong. :faint: I think I need a vacation. :goodvibes If I am not able to come back to the DIS before we board, I can't wait to meet all of you on Saturday! And just a reminder to the FE peoples, I will be there starting at 2:30p and I have created a condensed list to hand out to the FE folks of all the groups so if you're still missing numbers I will have them (except for 1 family who has not emailed me and I didn't find anything posted from them here or on FB. The rest of the missing stateroom numbers have been posted here and on FB). I know many of you got the numbers you needed, but creating the hand out was always in my plan and I'm going to keep going with it. Hopefully it will help someone. Also for the handout there is a space next to each family to write in any changes. I cut and paste from my FB post and changed a few things so sorry this is still way longer than I anticipated it to be. See you all on Saturday! Whoo hoo! It's FINALLY HERE!!!

Oh my goodness!!! I am so excited for all of you!!! For those that know us, please give each other BIG hugs from us  and to all of you, have a wonderful time!!! :yay:

We leave home in the morning at 4:30am, drive to Atlanta for the 8:15 flight to Seattle, then fly on to Vancouver. My DH said Vancouver was to be 71 degrees with a good chance of rain Saturday, so I will not be wearing anything warm. We are so excited as I know everyone else is.

I'm 3/4 packed, and I really hope I've not forgotten anything.

I've made sure to pack: z-pack, zofran, immodium - these are a must for every trip I go on. I have needed at least one on every cruise I've been on.
Dramamine - again a must, one with breakfast everyday of cruise and I do great.

Safe travels to everyone, see you on board.

My DH and I are officially on vacation! :) we drove in to Vancouver last night and spent today at Grouse Mountain... It was gorgeous (if a little chilly that high!)

We finally made it!!!:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::dance3:

I woke up this morning to discover that I could see her from my hotel room! I checked in so late last night after Amtrak that I didn't even know I had a waterview.

Packing up and heading over to the port shortly!

Was that cruise totally wicked or what! Can't wait to get home and start my trip report. Leaving today.

That was the best cruise thus far for me. I met the most awesome people and it was my first time on a smaller ship. Loved seeing all the familiar faces throughout the cruise. My table mates were awesome, I loved playing trivia and games, and all the shows (except one) were incredible. Oh Alaska was nice too.

I had so much fun playing trivia with you guys! It was a pleasure to meet you. :)
