I love Shivering me timbers, but the pirate theme just doesn't fly in Alaska, does it?

I hated that song when I was younger (much prefer the original "Under Pressure"), but this is too funny. Thanks ppartekim! Now whenever I hear it, I have new words to substitute.
And I can substitute Alaska for Vanilla.
I found it when I was looking at Grouse Mountain activities. http://www.grousemountain.com/lumberjack-show
But I think I may be mistaken on the dates. When I first looked at it I saw May - October but now I see it says "May long weekend-October long weekend". I have no idea how I missed the words long weekend, but to me that sounds like Memorial Weekend to Columbus Weekend. Which means I wouldn't be able to go in Vancouver anyway because our sail date would be too early.
Thanks. We'll see what happens.
A Lumber "Jack" would be awesome. Maybe you could substitute axes for the swords?
Even if they cancel the activities I would still want a Pirate night to dress up. But that's just me. I don't mind "Shiverin' Me Timbers" for it.![]()
Ok people I hate working. I can't keep up with you guys!!! I asked on our current cruise's thread which is slower than this so I will ask here too. Does anyone know what time the transport will pick us up from the resort to get to the pier (PC)? I have either the 11 or 11:30 PAT I forget but we also have a breaky ADR that we could cancel and make one in our resort to make it easier if need be. When do they tell you about transport times?
We also saw the show in Ketchikan. It was fun and we did the Disney edition which basically meant they called up a couple of kids to help. We had a riot as they split the audience into to camps and you had to cheer yours on making it interactive. Are camp really took that to heart, we LOUDLY cheered ours on and BOO'd the other camp all in good fun. Our side won (mainly I think the Lumberjack/Actors pick which camp will win and well, we just played the cheer game really well).
Would we do it again... not really sure.. but probably go with "seen it, done it".. but definitely a see it once show just remember to join in the cheering fun as it adds to it.
Of Course, now all this talk of Lumberjacks is making "I'm a Lumberjack" song from Monty Python keeping popping back in my head.
Liarsville is Skagway was fun.. But I figured out, I do not have the patience for panning... Claim jumping would be the life for me...The salmon roast was fabulous and the story was ok... The best part is that we booked the Disney version so we got to pan with Chip & Dale which was the highlight.
What was really interesting was that Skagway literally opened for the season the day we got there and when we boarded the ship at All-Aboard time, if you looked back a downtown it was as if they had rolled up the sidewalks and gone home it was that deserted.
In Juneau, we did the Salmon Hatchery and the Glacier tour. The Hatchery was really interesting and the Glacier was nice but cold. Downtown Juneau reminds me of a really little SF.
Ketchikan has a much bigger downtown that would be nice to have more time to stroll thru..
And I have a word document that already has 9 pages of notes...![]()
Thank you for the welcome! Would it be insane to quit my jobso that I am available to cruise?

Now remember you are talking about Canada so it isn't Columbus weekend, it would be their Thanksgiving weekend (whenever that is) and probably Victoria day in may which this year is the week before our memorial day (don't have a clue if that moves around or not. So don't lose hope, you just need to find out what their long weekends are!!
And I have a word document that already has 9 pages of notes...
Don't get me wrong, cost is a factor, but I am going to do my best to not think about it and not let it be a deciding factor.
I have always tried to figure this out! Either that or what kind of job do people have that they can up and move to some other country on the show House Hunters International, really, you work from home? Doing what? The police typically frown on people who do my job from home, just sayingThank you for the welcome! Would it be insane to quit my jobso that I am available to cruise?

I was going to respond that we have always rented a car because the DCL transports seem to come so late, but then I remembered you will have a young one with you and the DCL may be the easiest thing for you to do. Sorry I am not much help there.
Oops, I didn't think about that at all. Thanks for the correction. Sorry to all the Canadians.
However, now the DCL one sounds more fun so hopefully it's not sold out when it's time for Silver to book PAs.
That's more than I have, I've read them, but haven't even "hearted" them or started a list yet. We did chat a bit, DD wanted to horse back ride, but DCL's restriction is 12 years old. Rather funny, since she has riding lessons weekly and is much better than I or her older brother. Who by the way after 3 hours at the Drivers License Division - finally has his license.oh man I feel really behind! I have ZERO notes! I have only "hearted" the excursions on the webpage that I think we will explore as time gets closer.

A new license, how exciting for him and how scarey for you. I remember those days well. Our son got his license in October, car in November, wrecked it in December. Spent the next many months paying for parts and rebuilding it.

Learning this tool (which is new to me as my old editor is not working) has been a challenge, but I think I'm finally starting to get the hang of some things.

I totally understand! You probably should also check that his written test results are still good. After waiting at the DLD for 2 hours to give them his road test results, and thinking we were finally done, they told us that despite the fact that is permit was still good, his written test was expired and he needed to take the written test again! That's why we were there for almost 3 hours.I love the "lumber jack"! I would love to have this as a magnet on my door.
My son still doesn't have his license due to having a petrified mama. Sadly, his permit expires (for the third time), next month. I think I need to get over my fear and take him out driving.
Look at y'all, gotta get another cup of joe and
Ice, Ice Mickey
9 pages of notes,
I need to get on the ball. We have talked about it and decided that we do want to pan for gold and "pay" for our trip. But we want to do the one with Characters, got see all the characters we can. We are just not sure outside of that. Cost and age is a factor. We shall see.
I do have a question, before I did aI wanted to check with y'all.
My sis and mom are booked, Can I invited them to do the FE with us without them being on here or do they need to be on here? I can enter the info for them. I need to sign up for it, DH was
I am sharing your wonderful and wise information with them.

That's a good idea. We've only had one stolen, and unfortunately it wasn't one I could replace. We bought these adorable light up smiley magnets that I gave as FE gifts, but the place I bought them from only had the exact amount and I couldn't get more.I'm definitely making a magnet. But my mom wisely suggested I make a backup in case it gets stolen. Magnet thieves are annoying.

DS has pointed out that I need to clean up that Lumber Jack image a bit, especially around the dreadlocks. He's right, I was just so glad to have gotten that far, that I wanted to post it and share. Anyway, I'll re-post it once I improve it a bit for anyone that may want it.
Yep, live and learn. It was my first cruise and I didn't even think about people stealing them.I've never had any stolen from my door, but 2 that I gave as FE gifts were stolen. Of course I made them again and mailed the replacements once I heard, but I was irritated with the unknown culprit for a few minutes.I'll risk losing this one knowing there's a backup at home. But any special/one-of-a-kind magnets I don't want to lose will either go on the inside of my stateroom door or stay at home.
Puts my thing for lumberjacks and my thing for JD together.
