May 23rd - May 30th - POR

My first stay at Disney. Will be with wife, DD (14) and DS (11). Will be staying at POR. Only been to Disney 4 days in my whole life. Actually, I went to WDW when it open back in 1971. I am hoping it will not be too crowded during Memorial Day week, but I checked other threads, and most indicate it is not too crowded like other summer weeks. I can't wait...only 31 days!

We'll be at POFQ 25-31, we'll be neighbors....
I'm expecting crowds just getting in the right frame of mind to deal with it.
I'm super excited.... hope the weather is great!

24 more days until my trip to WDW and my stay at POR. I went to a photo album at my father's house and found pictures from 1971 when WDW opened! Only about 8 pictures, but I can still smell the paint. I will try to scan those photos and post one of these days.

I reviewed several websites and travel books and here are the estimated crowds for Memorial Day week:
May 23rd (Sat) and 24th (Sun) should be crowded. Won't be as crowded as July 4th weekend.
May 25th (Memorial Day) should not be as crowded as Sat/Sun, but more than a normal Monday.
May 26 - 29 should be average.

So there will be a spike on Memorial Day weekend, but will go down during the week.
