Rummage away Stacey!! But will you pay my bills when you see one? All I ever get is junk mail. No docs yet for us.

One more LONG day at work tomorrow & I get a day off. After 23 straight, boy will I be ready!! I plan to sleep till noon. Just don't anyone remind me I have another 7 day week starting Monday.

You are so going to need this vacation!

4 weeks to cruise (and only 3 weeks til i fly to the US for work)

Yeah sure....after the first day I came and rummaged, you'd put the lock back on the mailbox. Oh....I forgot anyway....our friendly neighborhood UPS guy will be delivering them. Maybe I should tell him that if you aren't home to sign for them, he could take them to the shop!!


I can't wait for your long weeks to end. First off, we need a lunch and an FE Organizing Day.....and secondly, you're working yourself into the ground! I'll be so happy to see you sitting on the balcony of the ship, doing nothing!!

I almost stopped at Borders before my shot in the knee yesterday, but I already have about 4 books at home to choose from. I have all my toiletries ready....and am glad I did, since yesterday after the shot, and today, are a total waste. Can't do much of anything.

We're not dressing up for formal night either, we just don't want to - we're on vacation!!! Formal night for us will be DH in khakis and a polo shirt and me in either a nice top and capris or a very casual dress. I am bringing two dresses on this cruise, the rest of my attire will be capris and tops. DH is bringing a sport jacket for Palo night - that's the extent of our dressing up! Like everyone else has said, we are going to formal night dinner status quo and I'm sure there will be people in shorts, tuxes, dresses and casual attire but we are there to have fun and enjoy ourselves - not to give out fashion citations, HAHAHAHA!

In ref to luggage, we usually each bring a big suitcase and share a suit carrier (for my two dresses and DH's sport coat and a few other items). Plus we each have a small day bag - that's 5 pieces between 2 people and we've always travelled that way on DCL...no problems!

Thanks everyone for the words of wisdom regarding dressing up. I did order a few dresses from online. Hopefully one or two of them will work and I'll send the other back. So we might be back on for formal night...LOL

UPS just delivered our cruise documents - WOO-HOO!!!

We got ours too and now know the room number 6138

Oh My!! They are sending out the cruise docs already!! Looks like you both are in FL, must be why you received them already. Hopefully here in AL we should get them this week.

Yeah! Made it all 23 days. A day off tomorrow. Of course it looks like a bomb went off in my house. Will have to spend part of the day setting it back to normal. Then I plan on spending at least 2 hours in the sun, then I NEED to go to Costco...dog & cat food run. I would love to fit in a massage, but think I will run out of time...and energy. Managed to get in 50 hrs of overtime last pay check & 30 hours so far this week. Yeah!! More money for the cruise. One more tough week to go and should be home free. I still love it- at 54 I can still run the youngsters into the ground. They just don't know how to work these days.
Stace- is your knee better? I surely hope so. I probably can fit in a lunch & hopefully FE's the week after next. We might have to do it poolside, though. I need a tan or I can't say I'm from Arizona.

What do you do for a living???? You sound like DH & I, this is his first weekend off since 3/14 - he's been working 72 hour + weeks since then. Only 50 hour weeks for me, I had the weekends off to take care of everything else at the homefront (we both work at a power plant). I know what you mean about the tan, for crying out loud, we live 30 miles SOUTH of Miami where the average daily temp is 75 degrees year round and we are pasty white, hahahaha!

Hope everyone is having a good w/e.
I was planning oc cleaning house this weekend but haven't as of yet - it looks like a tornado went off here.
I slept for about 12 hours last night and obviously needed it cause I napped on the couch yesterday afternoon too - guess I'm catching up from all the days I lack sleep.
I got up and made waffles for breakfast using my new blender so cleanup was so easy and the kids enjoyed.
Plan on doing laundry, cleaning and catch up on my shows I have tivo'd.

By last night and today, the knee is feeling better. I guess that means that it still hurts like it always does. It won't feel BETTER better until I finish up with all 5 shots. So every Friday until we cruise, I have to go through the pain of the shots. But in the end, it's worth it. And MUCH better than the alternative, which is what we're trying to buy some time to keep from doing....a total knee replacement.
After I get back from Omaha and the baby's birth, we'll start in on the other knee. Both have severe chronic osteoarthritis. Bone on bone. Which is part of the reason I have an accessible room. The other is the 4 broken and displaced vertebra in my back.
I think the worst part is that it keeps me from doing what I want. Change that.....it makes it HARDER to do what I want. I go ahead and do it anyway most of the time. lol Take snorkeling....lots of kicking, tough on the knees....will be much better when both knees have had the injections, but I can only fit one knee in before we go.
So far, technology can't help my back. Artifical hearts, men on the moon, robots....but no help for my particular back problem....go figure.
So I trudge on and get heavier every year because of the exercise limitations.


Wow...you all just learned way more about me than you really wanted to know, huh??? Sorry.

Thankfully, I worked on my TAN this weekend!

Teacher Chaperone at a School Carnival all day yesterday and today......PLANTED 7 flats of petunias and Impatiens!!

The cruise can't come soon enough!!!!!

I live in florida and didn;t get our doc;s yet. Did work on the tan, but with the breeze it was chilly in the water.

Poppins2000- I work at a private country club in way north Scottsdale. It's called Desert Mountain. We have 6 golf courses & 6 clubhouses. I am in their catering department. We are very seasonal and now is the season. This week & next are our annual member/guest golf tournaments. We are pretty short staffed and we have what we call our 'warm body syndrome.' We have people, but they are either very lacking in work ethics or don't have a clue about what's going on around them. A handful of us work morning till night. I actually love banking in all the hours, but after awhile, I even get bone tired. But slept 12 hours last night. Now trying to get some momentum up to try & clean up the mess my house is in.

I planned to go sun for a bit today, but can't seem to get into it. Hopefully after this next week is over, I can get a few hours of sun in. Thankfully I tan very easy.

Stacey- oh how I feel for you. Maybe when we snorkel you can just kick with the knee you are having the shots in. But then you will just go in circles. That might be interesting to watch. Sorry- that was mean of me, but my humor is a touch skewed this week. I just can't wait to lie on the warm sand & soak in the rays!

But only 26 days- now I think the panic is starting to set in. I have done almost nothing to get ready. Hopefully the week after this one won't be too tough and I can get stuff done.

Probably - as long as they let me on the ship they can keep the docs LOL

Does anyone else do pin trading onboard? I need to remember to take the kids pins with them for pin trading evenings - they have always had such fun with that and have a great collection each.
Yikes better start putting stuff together cause I'm working right thru to the Friday although that is a half day for me.

Mine do!! On our first cruise, pin trading was cancelled due to virus outbreaks, and they were so sad. We've already got them packed for this trip!

Hey everyone! We are getting SO close to the cruise! Stacey...I'm so sorry about your knee and back! (I used to work in a physical rehab that specialized in knee and hip replacements! now of course, some don't have to have such detailed knee replacements and the recovery is much shorter!!)

Mom had her 2nd day of dialysis, and she keeps getting so dizzy afterwards, and such low blood pressure, we have to wheel her out in a wheel chair. I started feeling sick yesterday, and just can't get to feeling better.

We did go shopping today and got swim trunks for the guys, now they just have to try them on. Got a knee brace for dh, and some sunscreen and solarcane spray.

I used to live in FL and LIVED out by our pool! I used to be SO tan!! Now I'm SO white!! One of the meds I take makes me sick in the sun I just rememberd that when I had a wonderful hour out in the sun the other day. Then that night I was sick! UGH...don't know WHAT i'm going to do on the cruise now, I wanted to be out in the sun by the pool all week!

Sharon, you are one busy lady!!!!!!!!!!! I'm gald to hear you only have one more busy week! You need a BREAK!!
