Have you noticed that yeap years are also election years? I think they did that on purpose so we have to listen all about it for one more day than usual.:rotfl2:

How true that is. Tuesday is primary day here in IL, but I won't be out to vote. I love my DVR. I can just pause the news, then fast forward the election coverage and commercials. The news reports said that we did get 10" of snow, but I can see patches of grass. I guess if you leveled it all out it would be 10". DS just got back in from feeding my chickens for me and had to shovel open the chicken coop gate. I bribed him with extra allowance if he'd feed them yesterday and today, but that turned into feeding them all weekend for me.:rolleyes1

Our primary is Tuesday also, but I'm not planning on going either. I love the DVR too.:worship: It's nice to be able to fast forward through things I don't want to see.

Trust me, once you've lived in Alabama long enough, you'll know the difference. The Saturday of the Iron Bowl might as well be a holiday to me, it's that important.

You also live near a piece of Alabama history. Legion Field was where 'Bama played for a long time. Plus, Paul "Bear" Bryant is buried in Elmwood in B'ham. Saturday was actually the 25th anniversary of his death.

Hi, I'm Emily and I have a football problem.:rotfl2:

LOL...I know...I love my football too...just the NFL. But I WILL learn about college football now. I do pick up things, since they do talk about it almost every day no matter if it season or not!

Peter and Jenn, so sorry about Maisy....sending pixie dust for her speedy recovery.

Poor Maisy...how is she doing now???

Hey Ron, The Man here from the 1st West Coast Cruise, saw your latest cruise meet and wouldn't you know I think we might join yall if this ship is gonna party as hard as our last cruise together.

Welcome!! Hope you can make it!!!:thumbsup2

It's the weekend here already. They cancelled school last night. I closed the library today, and we are snowed in (Heather, do you want to come and visit?). DS was thrilled last night that he didn't have to finish his homework before bed. We didn't get the 8"-12" that they were calling for, but the wind has whipped up 5'-6' drifts. I was a regular day off for DH and me, anyway, so nothing special. Sounds like a Wii day today!

Oh, SNOW!!! I should book the flight now!!!!:lmao:

I miss our DVR!! We couldn't get cable "way out here" in our neighborhood... we had to get Direct TV, and can't get their version ...we'd have to have them drill and go through walls and add lines (my dad is not a big fan of doing things like this...so we didn't do this) We hope to get TIVO soon...somehow we can get a wireless router and it should work OK. :woohoo:

We've been busy in our house. We have decided to head back to Florida....but no stop at Disney:scared1: We are going back to take care of my parents house in FL. Since Ed hasn't found work just yet...we figured we'd go ahead and go there now.

Back story...My Dad lived in AL, mom in FL. Dad was here for his job. They flew alot back and forth. My mom and dad purchased the house we all now live in back in May. They figured they'd move into it w/in the next few months when the apartment lease was up. Dad found out the next month about the cancer. My ds was also up here because it was summer and he was spending time with them. They haven't been back to FL since then (that was May 2007). We moved up here with them.

My dh and I were there when we worked on our house to sell in Sept. (we lived in the same neighborhood). My sisters husbands family were taking care of the house and actually started packing up some of the stuff for my parents. Until an accident happened....my sisters husbands niece (2 yrs old) got outside and fell in the pool. She passed away (taken off life support) 3 days later. We are all very close with his family and this has been really hard on us all.

So no one has been in the house since October. There is no way his family will ever want to go back there. My sis and her husband stopped by there when they were there for the funeral. He got sick and will never go back. My parents can't make a trip there and do the work...

So that is why we are going. We are hoping to sell their house soon. It is going to be ALOT of work. Lots of stuff in the garage...it's really bad.

We have a hotel booked ( i don't know that I would want to stay there for many reasons...also no cable or phone hooked up there now). we got flights for cheap. we'll fly down, and drive back in a moving van!
We leave next Thursday for 10 nights. Hope we can get it all done in that time!!!

Sorry for the long postpopcorn:: I certainly can ramble on and on and on....

bumping up off of page 2!!

Happy Saturday Morning!! Anyone have any good plans for the day???

I've got to go to wally world for valentines stuff for dh and ds. And pick up a few things for the super bowl. Then, If I can't come up with any good excuses...I'll be sweeping and moping the downstairs (I wish we had carpet down there!!!) and cleaning the kitchen!! :rolleyes1

Have a good weekend!!!:goodvibes

Woo Hoo!!!

We are still waiting for our W-2's!! Dh and I worked for the same company (very small) and fear they have mailed it to our old house. We still have address forwarding ...but not sure if they will forward that type of thing on or not???

Okay we're in, wife, 2ds 12, 14 and like or not me. so instead of reading 20+ pages, can someone get me up to date on what is planned so far on this cruise? Are having a Marti Gras party, I still have far two many beads from the last one on hand. Wine and cheese parties anyone? Since we will be flying this time and security is strict, I don't I will be able to bring the Homebrew like last time, but we see what happens. Well I gotta get ready to go the SuperBowl tomorrow I check back later

:lmao:

So far nothing!
but there is plenty of time!

Finished our taxes last week too. Just waiting for the refunds now. State was accepted, but federal won't get looked at until next Monday for some reason. Oh, well.

My parents bought more DVC points yesterday. We now have 250 points at the Wilderness Lodge Villas!!!!, which is good since that's one of our favorite resorts. With Saratoga, we could never ressies anywhere but Saratoga. They're planning on selling their Saratoga points in a few months. Their guide told them that Saratoga is 95-97% sold and if they sold it now it would take longer b/c the resale value would be more per point than what DVC is selling them for. Hopefully when Saratoga sells in a few months they'll announce the Contemporary Villas.

Welcome wmjivey! :welcome: Just jump right in....I don't think you've missed anything too important (except Heather's cruise list but that's just getting started also.)

Welcome to the cruise wmjivey !!! I've got a crusie list started. You can see it in my signature. If you want to post your info I"ll add it to the list.

Also, anyone who wants to post pictures on the site, just post them here and I'll get them on there. I think I need to go back and copy a few pictures that have been posted already. I;ve been slacking...haven't really been working on the web pages.

Rotary...lucky you!! We want to buy into DVC!! ANd wilderness lodge is great. And we'd love to buy into the contemporary!!

Hope everyone has a great Superbowl Sunday!!!:cheer2:

Dont sell them! they have a longer contract life than the WLV points!

you should be able to get ressie's at WLV with the saratoga points no problem!  Keep calling is my motto!
dont let them tell you no we dont have anything!

Was able to get the Boardwalk the week before the marathon!
But keep calling if they tell you no!

Peter

Yeah, personally I don't understand how you get stuck getting reservations only at Saratoga. I own at Saratoga and BCV and I stay all over the place. (I have BWV in June and AKV next weekend)

Bumping us off of p.2 (again).

The length of the contract isn't necessarily the most important thing to them. WL is one of our favorite resorts. They normally go the 1st week of Dec. They normally get put on a waitlist and still can't get a room. Last year they even tried for BWV & BCV and couldn't get anything. If the Contemporary turns out to be they'll definately sell the points, if it doesn't they might hold on to them, not sure.

Happy Monday!! Ds is home sick today and we slept in until 10am! :thumbsup2 Boy did we need that sleep!!!

Hope everyone has a great Monday!!

I have two friends that are considering going on this cruise with us. One just has to talk her dh into it (their anniversary will be during the crusie). The other friend says her DH wants to cruise soon. (they have cruised on the wonder before..and they just have to see if they can do a 7 day! :cool1:

Sleeping in sure sounds nice. I think Jason slept in a little, he's got an upper respiratory infection. He's getting better though.

I'm glad to hear you have friends who might be considering this cruise. They'll love it.

Welcome wmjivey!

Hope everyone had a good weekend. We had a low-key one, I guess. Sort of watched the Superbowl. I was glad to see the Giants win ... pulling for them since Eli is from New Orleans & the Mannings are such a great family ... grew up watching Archie playing for the Saints.

Got a new home computer (desktop) this weekend. We now have wireless capability in the house .... woohoo! Now the kids can get connected to the 'net on their computer & I can sit anywhere with my work laptop ... that may not be a good thing ... that means that I can sit on the sofa & "work" while I watch "Days of Our Lives" on Thursdays when I work from home.

Emily has been selling Girl Scout cookies ... glad it's over. We thought she'd have trouble selling 75 for her badge but she wound up selling 225!!!

Heather, good luck packing up the parents' stuff. That was a sad story.

Peter, hope Maisy is doing better.

Ang
